Travelled to Roatan in a group of 14 friends. This small hotel had an amazing location, rooms were simple but clean, balcony:porch was fantastic. The restaurant was consistently delicious and the staff were so friendly and helpful. Security, Super Mario, Harris, all took very good care of our entire group. We are looking at rebooking for next year(soon!) as it fills up fast. The beach was Beautiful, for sure busy on cruise ship days but great people watching!! Loved the Whole trip. Went on excursions with @williamweins, a Canadian who has relocated to Roatan. He also took great care of us! #myroatanexperience

Not your normal hotel style, more like a condo...the road into the property is a bit of a trail off the main road. I would say hard to find if you were on your own. The parking lot is dirt and fills quickly when the cruise ships come in. The rooms are a bit outdated with wood counter tops and cupboards, but the kitchenette is fine, the bed was comfortable, the room was large, and very importantly had a nice covered balcony. The rooms are detached from the rest of the property, which is the Argentinian Grill Restaurant, where you check-in, pay your bills, and eat. The included full breakfast at the restaurant was very good, as were all meals at the Argentinian Grill ( well known for their steaks) We were advised not to drink the tap water in the rooms, but all other water used throughout was purified. We advise that you request 5 gallon jug of drinking water for your room. You can also buy fresh fruit every other day from the truck that services the restaurant. We really enjoyed the location because we could walk every morning to go snorkelling right off the beach by the Grand Roatan Hotel. Money ATM is located in the Infinity Bay lobby, as well as the small strip mall off the beach( easy to ask anyone where). All boat services were handy like water taxi and excursions. The best part for us was the wonderful staff and excellent food. Please read further in the details section of this review.

My girlfriend and I went to Roatan to spend her birthday somewhere warm and to get in some scuba diving. A friend of hers recommended this place after listening to what she was wanting to do. The hotel has a shuttle service to and from the airport, you just have to set it up at least a day before you arrive and pay the driver in cash. There is no front desk, you check in at the bar of the restaurant that is attached to it. Breakfast is free and lunch and dinner are discounted there. The room was nice and had a kitchenette in it along with a back patio Thad had a hammock and a table with a couple chairs. The view was mostly of the back of the restaurant but you could see the ocean. You have to pass through the restaurant to get to the beach which was fine for us since we could stop for breakfast before spending the day on the beach and diving. They are in the middle of the beach and every thing we needed (dive shops, restaurants, souvenirs, etc) was a short walk away on the beach. If you are just looking for a place to watch tv and order room service this place is not for you. If you are looking to have a beach vacation this place is great.

I have a hard time calling this a hotel. It is an apartment complex of 8 studios apartments which are behind a restaurant that is on the beach. There is no lobby no check-in desk, no hotel staff. You enter and find your way to the restaurant where they give you a key and send you off. The value for money is not there given the amenities e.g. none. The shower drain was clogged, they did not give any wash clothes, there was no sign on the door to be able to tell housekeeping not today, and while they want to be sustainable and limit the amount of plastic they do not give you water. My husband went and asked and they said they do not do that but we will do it this once. They said you had to pay for a plastic jug of water next door. If I have to pay for it, not a problem, but don’t send me to buy a plastic jug. Let me buy it from you!! The restaurant breakfast is fine, but over priced - thankfully it is included in the room. They do nickel and dime you though- one day I had a fruit salad -156 lempira and wanted a side of two eggs scrambled. Most breakfasts on the menu were 250lempira +, so my fruit salad (not local fruits btw- Granny Smith apple - ok...) when we checked out they charged me extra for the two eggs, even though in terms of value, I was way under the average. Apparently you get 1 thing on the menu- price aside. In terms of the beach it was nice, but very crowded especially on cruise ship days. This place caters to them and their guests are an after thought. Sort of like the whole experience. I did not feel welcome on the beach when the cruise ship people were there and no one came up and asked me if I wanted a drink or food. The rooms have nice balconies, however while the rooms are no smoking the balconies are not. It is TERRIBLY unpleasant to be in nature and be subjected to my neighbors smoking on their patio every morning and every night. Even worse, cannot leave the windows open because the whole place smells like smoke. So there goes the nice Caribbean breeze and hello aircon and electricity bill. They really should reconsider this. In terms of the pros- the rooms are quite nice, spacious and clean. It is nice to have a little kitchen and fridge. Aircon worked well as did kitchen appliances. Hot water worked, lights worked and had no problems with the beds. The patios are nice minus the aforementioned smoking and there is a hammock. The restaurant waiters are very nice and friendly when we had breakfast. Bottom line, these are basic accommodations, and if your expectations are adjusted accordingly you should be fine. It just didn’t meet ours.

This was our second trip to Roatan - this time my partner decided to get dive certified at West Bay Divers, which happens to be right next door. Could not be more convenient. Rooms are just as pictured - woody, clean and breezy. Overall, a lovely stay. Breakfast is delish (our friend who was staying at Foster's came daily to our place for breakfast eventually.) Actually the hotel seems to be a bit of an afterthought to the restaurant, which means some minor inconveniences, such as an inability to get extra linens after housekeeping has left for the day, or our laundry not getting picked up at all when they said it would be that afternoon. Minor repairs were done quickly, rooms are very convenient to the beach, yet kind of tucked away behind the restaurant for a quieter feel. (Quiet except when Beachers next door has live music Saturday nights until about 11.) You can walk about 10 mins south to in front of the Grand Roatan to snorkel the reef from shore, or take a kayak out maybe 300 yards in front of this hotel. (If interested in this plan, note that the dive shopboats can kick you off those buoys if they choose to, and bring a beener and rope for clippage.) A few suggestions I'd have: - A plastic bin in front of the door to dip feet in before entering the room would decrease sand intrusion. - Supplying a broom to each room would do the same. - Supply an an absorbant towel for under the dish drying rack. - Supply filtered water. - Keep extra linens and pillows available to front desk/restaurant staff for requests after housekeeping has left. - Beds, especially the twin, could be improved. The queen is sloping toward the night stand, the twin is hard (basically a version of the queen with no pillowtop) Overall, recommended. Come visit Roatan's healthy reef, in any case! (And help protect it by wearing reef-safe sunscreen.)
