Great dive resort that goes above and beyond for its guests. My husband is an avid diver and we booked our trip with his dive shop so we had a group of almost 40. I’m a non-diver and had plenty to occupy my time - crystal blue waters, gorgeous sunrise/sunsets, all inclusive amenities and an awesome spa. Our villa was beachfront and only a few steps to the water. The room was well appointed with fresh bed linens, a comfy bed, nice living room. I had a spa day while my hubby was out diving - Yami is absolutely AMAZING and I had probably one of the best massages ever (and I get them regularly)… There were a few downsides (not enough to change my 5 star review) - 15% added to credit card when paying for spa services, buffet food was good overall but a lot of dishes had a TON of garlic (and I like garlic - but too much), and when trying to relax beachfront there are a ton of vendors trying to sell items, give massages, braiding hair, etc to the point it became an annoyance (just be prepared and you’ll be ok)… the resort staff were amazing and very friendly. They work incredibly hard to ensure you have a great time so good tipping is definitely encouraged - I saw staff working over 12 hour days and still displayed smiles and great hospitality. For dive enthusiasts, you will feel absolutely spoiled - the dive boats are just off shore, steps from the resort - the dive shop ensures your equipment is loaded, unloaded and washed after everyday… the shop also ensures all tanks are onboard and it’s quite a task to load / unload them, but they do! My husband was amazed over the service and all dives were only 5-10 minute boat rides. Definitely worth exploring and enjoying all beautiful Roatan has to offer.

We chose Mayan Princess for the first week of our Roatan SCUBA holiday. It did not disappoint. We were in Roatan to SCUBA with their on-premises dive shop. We had a 2nd floor room near the primary building (210). It was nearly an ideal room for SCUBA divers. Know where your room is before you book so there are no surprises. The room, bed and pillows were comfortable. The A/C worked well, and while I was initially skeptical of the wristband “key” system, that worked very well too. The beach was a close: <1 min walk from our room (the dive shop was closer!). We enjoyed our post dinner evenings on our private balcony (which had plenty of space and a hook for a drying line for gear). The buffet was just OK, nothing exceptional. But the restaurant dinners were fantastic – but they require daily reservations before 2pm. The open bar was great, we never wanted for an adult beverage or something to eat or snack on. The staff was super friendly, but many were new to Mayan Princess and quite a few do not speak English very well. But, they always tried and were very helpful. The cleaning staff and grounds crew were exception! The entire resort is super clean and safe. The pool is cool and inviting. It’s a great resort for Roatan!

My wife and I spent two weeks at Mayan Princess on Roatan the latter half of July 2022. We were there to scuba dive with a fairly large group of people from Neptune Ski & Dive in Augusta Georgia. Good people and a well planned trip.
Commenting at this time only on the resort itself, I reflect on what made our stay pleasant and memorable. Architecture can be memorable and the architecture and layout at Mayan Princess is well conceived with mostly one bedroom up and down in separate villas which are laid out around a very pretty meandering pool. Our bedrooms was nicely furnished with my only criticism that the main floor beds are set on a pull out platform which holds another mattress for expansion needs. Frankly as I am short I had to be concerned with the potential for falling out of bed! Which, fortunately, never happened!! Meals generally were from a well stocked and diverse buffet with entrees varying throughout the week. Could also choose to dine at two sit down restaurants available for special meals. There is also a separate area with extended hours for walk up snacks and drinks. Drinks also being served at an area facing the beach. I think the food manager does an excellent job in keeping the general buffet and separate buffets set up separately for special foods such as Chinese. And staffed with attentive and capable servers who did their best to understand what the non Spanish speaking folks wanted. Not to neglect those of us who enjoy a mixed drink from time to time from well stocked selections. I do not remember the food managers name, but my wife and I enjoyed his efforts.
The element which really separates resorts in our view are the people. And Mayan Princess clearly puts a great deal of effort into hiring and training. In two weeks we did not encounter a staff member, whether front desk, restaurant, bar or housekeeping that was not polite and accommodating. But there are a few whom we think were particularly courteous and helpful.
I say this while admitting that my wife is almost always pleasant while I can be a bit harsh and demanding when I feel there is an issue.
At the front desk Patricia Sierra and Makayla Miller were courteous and helpful without exception. Both speak rather excellent English and addressed my issues promptly. At the coffee bar in the buffet area Damara Bennett had my wife’s coffee prepared and ready every day as she likes it. While at the small separate bar Johanna Guzman (may be wrong spelling) began preparing my/our favorite drinks before my wife got within ten feet of the bar. And my wife states that Johanna’s secret recipe for Mojitos produces the best she has ever tasted.
I can say with certainty that in the future we will again be guests at Mayan Princess Beach and Dive Resort. .

My family and I stayed at the Mayan Princess Beach and Dive Resort for Thanksgiving, I was not impressed. For what we paid, we could have stayed in a better place elsewhere nearby. The staff was very attentive and helpful, the food and accommodations lackluster.
The buffe food was bland. Making reservations to the “a la carte” restaurants was complicated, every time we tried, we were told that there was some sort of “special event”, we persisted and were able to make reservations. One night my son ordered a hamburger from the menu, five minutes later the waiter returned to let us know they had no hamburgers and that he need to order something else. Who doesn’t have hamburgers? At the end of the meal we asked for the desert menu; there was no desert menu, we just got up and walked to the buffet to finish our meal.
If you like ice cream you are out of luck, there was no ice cream. If you like deaf coffee, expect “instant” decaffeinated coffee. If you like tea, there is only black and green tea; no regular decaffeinated tea, no herbal tea of any kind.
The beach in front of the hotel is beautiful. Relaxing on the beach is close to impossible; as soon as you get close you will be approach by somebody trying to sell you t-shirts, excursions, massages or braid your hair.
Some highlights from our beach front room. It took three trips to the front desk and back to the room until they were able to sort out the keyless access to the room and internet service. The shower door in my bathroom was missing a handle. The shower water pressure was low, the water tasted bad. There was a gallon of spring water in our refrigerator, we used this to brush our teeth and rinse toothbrushes. The mechanical equipment is located right next to the primary bedroom, the air handler fan is blasting on the background none stop.

The Mayan Princess experience was phenomenally memorable. From the moment we were greeted by the team at RTB we were treated with kindness and the utmost professionalism was displayed by the Mayan Princess team. Mario was outstanding and consistent with how he engaged us with a positive attitude and magnetic energy level. Stephanie is a star. She is definitely a bright light who was also consistent in her actions of energy and engagement.
Upon arrival to the property itself check in was flawless and an authentic welcome. Percia was brilliant and efficient. The condo we lodged in was clean and open. The grounds are immaculate. Larry is a true pro and asset to the Mayan team.
The entire Balam staff were amazing and again, consistent. Ms. Linda is a jewel. Santos at the Calkett’s bar was fantastic and filled with energy and exudes pride in the details.
Lastly, we unexpectedly crossed paths with Jen at dinner at Balam one evening. She was attentive in bringing us our drinks right away. We had already been at the Mayan four days and had not seen her in Balam working. During dinner we learned she is the Supervisor of Housekeeping. It’s clear she should be the Director of Customer Relations. Our interaction with her was above reproach. Jen has “it”. She definitely elevated our dining experience because of how she was highly attentive to our needs and making sure we had a great dining experience that evening. I observed her affording others guests with the same warmth, attentiveness, joy, professionalism, and energy. It was refreshing to witness.
Needless to say that I would highly recommend the Mayan Princess to anyone who expects to receive the best when traveling and investing their hard earned currency. Percy location in West Bay.

We visited this resort in mid January and we did throughly enjoy it but there were small things that added up and prevented us from giving it more than 3 stars. First off our flight was delayed coming down (absolutely nothing to do with the resort) but when we arrived at the resort well after 10PM it was like they turned the lights out and went to bed. The young man at the front desk was dozing when we approached and he did manage to check us in and get our room keys and then sent us on our way in the dark to figure out where our room was with no help with luggage or directions. When asked if we could get a drink or something to eat we were told everything is closed at 10 PM and we couldn’t even get a bottle of water so that left a bit of a bad taste in our mouths. The resort grounds are beautiful as are the pools and we enjoyed this very much. The beach is gorgeous and lots of things to do if you have the inclination and the cash. One drawback are the vendors on the beach - say no and they move along but there is an unending supply of them so every 2 minutes you’re being asked to purchase something. Water is beautiful and warm though! The food was nothing special but certainly edible and there were a couple of very good dishes on a few of the nights. It’s a buffet but not in the true sense of the word as there are staff standing behind the counters serving you. There is an a la carte but we didn’t get there. There are multiple restaurants along the beach if you choose to eat away from the resort. The room we had was VERY small. Probably the smallest room we’ve had at an all inclusive resort but it was perfectly suitable and it was clean. The staff were kind of hit and miss we found. Some were polite and chatty like David at Macao and others seemed indifferent to your presence so no one really went out of their way to provide service that garnered a tip. We tipped anyway but maybe not as much as we would have for better service. There is no entertainment whatsoever so bring your own!! If you’re looking to party and drink the whole time this is definitely not the place to do that. All in all we really liked Roatan and would return but we’d stay at a different resort next time.

For a dive resort, this place is on the high end. We had an all-inclusive package, which allowed us unlimited drinks (including lots of good mixed drinks), daily breakfast and lunch buffets and a choice of a dinner buffet or two restaurants with menu service. The food was some of the best I’ve had on a dive trip. The room was in good shape, with excellent AC.

Had a great stay at the mayan princess dive resort, Beautiful resort and a great location. Could not get closer to the boats and the ease of getting on and off every morning was amazing especially as an adapted scuba diver. Requested before trip Accommodations for roll in shower which the hotel and housekeeping worked collaboratively with my group coming in from Colorado. It made for a wonderful experience while staying there, comfortable and able to use the facilities. One recommendation would be to have a couple ramps around the hotel so as to use the Palapa on the beach to get up onto it with a wheelchair and inflate the trike bikes… They were often flat. Small minor things but in general it was a wonderful time and they were very accommodating! They even went above and beyond to find cleaning supplies for my medical stuff and Juan the security guard made friends with us like we were family. Will definitely return in the future!
Some folks on the trip had some Gastro issues with the all inclusive food plan, not sure if that was just from acclimating to local food but cautionary in that regard and also with not drinking the water. Just as an aside something to consider.

My fiancé and I stayed here the second week of July 2021 and loved it!
Our room was situated near the pool and surprisingly quite and comfortable. The ceilings in the units are particularly high with quality air conditioning and ventilation systems. The interior design is tasteful with a bit of modern Caribbean flair; stone tiles, dark wood, quality pillows and linens add to the comfort and luxury of the room. Housekeeping was particularly good about cleaning everyday thoroughly at convenient times.
We opted for an all inclusive package which proved to be a proposition filled with value. The buffets are serviced by kitchen staff serving each guest what they select on individual plates. The quality of food was excellent with a combination of international cuisine and authentic Honduran specialities - all changing daily. In addition to the main meal buffets there is a separate snack offering during and in between meals consisting of hamburgers, hotdogs, chicken fingers, popcorn, and sometimes fish soup. All of the bars are well stocked and barkeepers fluent in modern and classic mixology recipes. We really enjoyed our mojitos- thank you Destiny! You really rocked the bar! ☺️
On my fiancé’s birthday the staff was helpful with some arrangements I requested and had a birthday cake prepared to my exact specifications! Thank you!
The reception is situated in an outside type office which I found fascinating; front office staff are friendly and helpful. We organized a swim with the dolphins excursion via the hotel, it was a highlight!
The beach is a swift few steps from most rooms and consists of beautiful fine white sand; the ocean is calm due to the geography abs oceanography of the area; water is a lush turquoise/ blue throughout. The salt density is such that folks who normally find it a challenge to float on their backs can easily do so here.
There are two main swimming pools and a hot tub, all well maintained.
This was an absolute dream vacation that we will think back on for years to come. During our stay we rented jet skies, went parasailing, swam with dolphins, and enjoyed all the amenities and treats of this wonderfully managed and situated oasis.
Thank you to the Mayan Princess Management and Team!

I would say that the Mayan Princess was average for an all-inclusive. The rooms were tidy and we had plenty of room for 3 adults and 3 children. The buffet was fun for the kids because they were able to pick their own food but the food, generally speaking, was average. There were a couple really good dishes but not many.
Macao which they say has comfort foods is not very good. There might be pizza and they’ll make you a hot dog but don’t order a burger (yuck) or fries (they were so gross, the employee wouldn’t even serve them).
Mayan Divers were great. The two DMs we had were excellent at finding and pointing out things to see. The reef was disappointing but that’s not the dive center’s fault. The operation itself seemed good.
There were a couple nights where we wanted to get our kids to bed (and let’s be honest, the adults were tired too) but the music was being played at the restaurant (by a DJ) until about 10pm. It made it hard for some of us to sleep for sure.
The biggest letdown was the kids club. The website makes it appear that there are activities for the kids outside everyday and that in the afternoon there are inside activities. Our kids were excited to go but when we got there, there was one employee that spoke very little English in a very small room. She gave us instructions and hours for the club but they were in Spanish only (the website says that they have bilingual staff). She said the kids stay in the room all day and that occasionally they had a special thing like making cookies. We did not send our children there. Likely it was safe but it didn’t seem like it would be very enjoyable for them. We had intended to dive together occasionally (the three adults) but ended up swapping out to watch the children. It was fine but a bummer. We picked Mayan Princess for the kids club but it wasn’t like it was advertised. Very disappointing. It’s also important to note that the kids club breaks for lunch at 12:20 and resumes at 1:30…often we weren’t back from morning dives until 12:30 (so we would’ve been late getting the kids) and then afternoon dives left at 1:45 (unlikely we could’ve gotten everyone dry so that they could go to lunch, fed, and back to kids club in time to leave for an afternoon dive). Not very well planned overall.

The Sirenis hotel section is where you would stay if you have not rented a condo from someone there. It is a charming section with a waterfall pool in the middle and it is not very large either.
I tipped when I felt I was taken care of. There are tip jars at the bars and in a couple spots in the buffet lines. That being said, I think you would be ok not to tip if that is what you preferred.
HI - sorry I didn't see this question until now!
Yes the Mayan Princess is all inclusive. They have one restaurant that serves as a buffet for breakfast, lunch and dinner. There is a snack bar behind this area that is sit down with a menu and we liked to go there for lunch. You can get alcohol all day and up until the bar closes at 10 pm. You can also leave the resort and easily walk to independent bars and restaurants and they stay open a little longer in the evening.
There are more places to choose from in the West Bay area.
