Our stay with Bananarama was amazing, the staff there went above and beyond to make sure we enjoyed our stay. I am terrible with names, so I can’t remember everybody’s, but I would like to give a special thanks to Jose, Carolina and Puche. We spent 4 nights at the Bananarama in a "Superior Queen Room With an Extra Bed". It was a 2nd floor room with a nice balcony. This room is basically a one-bedroom apartment with a kitchen. The kitchen is equipped with dishes and silverware as well as a nice sized refrigerator, coffee maker, and microwave. There is an extra twin bed in the kitchen. The room was clean and worked well for us. There were 2 issues that I will mention: First, there was no hot water in our shower for some reason. It wasn't freezing cold so we never bothered to mention it to the office. Secondly, the road leading into Bananarama is ridiculous. It is terribly rutted and full of mud holes. It would be so simple to dump and spread some dirt. It really looks a mess. Also, be aware that if you have a car, you will have to pay to park it. Bananarama does not provide parking. Parking is $10 per day at a lot down the way. All in all, our stay was fine. The restaurant is ok but the food is not cheap. You will be charged the same as the cruise ship passengers. There is no discount for hotel guests. The free breakfast is ok. Be sure to take advantage or that. There are daily specials also. One of the specials is $10 for a large pizza. The pizza is excellent! We also enjoyed our resident cat. He lives on the balcony and he ate really well while we were there! …

Bananarama has been my “home away from home” since 2014. I’ve stayed at over a dozen hotels on the island but when I bring new groups I prefer to stay here in the king house. You absolutely cannot beat the view, location, pizza, or frozen drinks! Kristy in the office is AMAZING. Ed and Darry at the bar are the cherry on top!

We were a group of 9 staying in the 2-bedroom apartment that sleeps 12. Our room was ocean view and big for all of us to be comfortable. It’s conveniently located on the beach with other restaurants, pharmacies, shops, and water activities within walking distance. We only stayed for 2 nights and wish we had more time to really enjoy all it had to offer. The restaurant on the property had many different food options and great pricing. If we ever go back to Roatan, we’d absolutely stay at Bananarama Dive again.

The worse hotel I have stood in Roatan, very outdated, bathroom had a sewage smell to it, fridge old, rusty and broken, nothing to brag about. It just looked dirty and raggedy, not a pleasant stay!!!

Returning to Bananarama after 21 years, a lot has changed. There are a lot more resorts and there is less beach, however the experience was still excellent. The reefs are in great shape, most likely being declared a nature preserve, and the hospitality is still warm as well. The dive shop led by Marco is amazing. Zoe, Yvonne, and Brian were excellent Dive Master's and made every dive educational, safe, and enjoyable. Our boat captains Mark & Anthony were friendly and helpful and the other divers at the resort were experienced and a pleasure to dive and socialize with.

We ate here our first evening and had grilled fish tacos. They were very good!! We went back several times for their drink specials! They make very good Monkey Lalas!!! And it’s alway 2 for $$. Cheyenne was a waitress we befriended! And they would always give us a bag of ice!! This was one of my favorite places to go!!

We have stayed at Bananarama three times now and love it there. Literally right on the beach! You walk out your door and right onto the beach. Rustic with a beach vibe feel to the place! The staff are incredibly nice and accommodating. We used the dive ship too and this year my daughter was certified. If you are looking for a patient, expertly trained scuba instructor, ask for Yvonne. She was my 13 year old daughter’s instructor and had the patience of a saint. I could not believe how well she worked with her. I also witnessed Yvonne working the same with others…..she is top notch. Marco, the dive shop manager is also wonderful, knowledgeable and accommodating. The boat captains were also great! Best experience for my 13 year old! We love this place and wouldn’t stay anywhere else!…

The staff are all really courteous and friendly. The grounds are well maintained and the resort is located on a lovely beach. The food and drinks at the Thirsty Turtle and Pizzarama are very good. The dive shop is wonderful—very professional, new equipment and the dive masters, boat captains and dive shop staff are the best. My only criticism is that the resort does not start serving breakfast (not continental) until 8:00 which makes it difficult to impossible to get to the dive shop by 8:15 if you want breakfast, which is included in the room rate.
