I really try to be realistic and fair when judging a business but I just can’t come up with the amount of excuses needed to justify all the failings. First, the good:people were pretty nice and check-in/out was easy. Rooms were clean and serviced daily. Unfortunately that’s about where the good ends..... The bad- this resort is aging and is in pretty dire need of some upgrades. They have several 2-story cabins and if you happen to be staying in a bottom-story, you’d better be prepared for a very poor nights sleep because you can hear EVERY STEP AND MOVEMENT UPSTAIRS, as there is no insulation in the floors. The bed mattresses are horrid unless you like sleeping on an upholstered board. Showers are brief as getting hot water for more than 1 minute is rare, warm water is par. They have hired full time security but I’m not sure why because the security guy does absolutely nothing all day and night. I was repeatedly woken at ~4am by a dog on the property, barking at whatever, repeatedly. I would have thought security would run off stray and wandering dogs. We had a TV in our room that didn’t work as well. Actually though, the biggest downfall of Las Rocas was the lack of lounging capabilities. There is absolutely no comfortable chairs to lounge in. There are a few (like 4) beach loungers but zero just comfortable chairs to relax in. All the chairs are hard wood and hurt after 30-40 minutes. If you want to just hang out and drink in the evenings, you have no comfortable options, and with no TV or entertainment, boredom is definitely something to contend with. They do have a small sanded area by the water but I wouldn’t call it a beach. The sand is infested with little bugs that eat you alive but I wouldn’t attribute that to the resort- it seems to be a Roatan issue. The dive shop was conveniently located in the resort and the prices were very good. The equipment is aging and was in need of service. Pretty much every BCD I used during the week leaked and was very worn. Dive master took us to different dive spots every day which kept things interesting. One shining part of the resort is the restaurant/bar. The food was all really good and fairly priced. The waiters were sometimes a little inattentive but nothing that couldn’t be overlooked. Lobster and seafood dishes were very good. Overall, I would NOT stay here again myself, mostly due to the lack of lounging and entertainment options, but I barely slept the entire week because of various loud noise and interruptions and that weighed on me too. I hope they remodel and add some amenities sometime in the future.

Stay from February 15 to February 22. We LOVE las Rocas...We are two adventurous travelers moms from NYC who are not afraid to take ours 3 kids anywhere. Leaving our husbands behind working to pay for our trips LOL... We stayed in a family bungalow... It was clean and the towels was changed everyday. The only thing I wish for a microwave in the room. If you are looking for a Luxurious hotel, definitely this is not your place. However, book it if you want to layback and relax. The concept of rustic bungalows surrounded by trees and plants give las Rocas a sense of peace and tranquility. Our package came with breakfast (8 am - 10 am) which was typical Honduran pastries, yogurt, juices, cereal and one main dish. This dish was the same for everybody and vary from day to day. Lunch Menu was good! It offers burritos, quesadillas, baleadas, tacos, pupusas, chicken fingers, fish fingers, pizzas and salad. The dishes offer for dinner are superb... Everything delicious.... Do not wait to be very hungry because the food will be ready Island time... but it is worth the wait. People from other hotels come to the small rustic restaurant.. another thing the hotel has vey tiny beach and a tiny salty pool. However, the West Bay Beach is only steps away. All staff members were polite and friendly. Another plus is that Gumbalimba Park is about 5-10 minutes walk and our kids absolutely had a blast with the monkeys. Overall, we had a great stay and we would love to be back...

Had a great week at Las Roxas, as always they are very accommodating. The sunsets, happy hours, dive center, and breakfasts are the best! Great place to complete advanced dive certification. Thanks to all the wonderful employees, Winston, Devin, Elio, and the girls that cook all the fabulous food. The dive team was great, always making sure we were comfortable and having a good time even in the rain. Thanks Andreas, Tony, and our fantastic Captain, Otto!

Not many people know that this dive center also has a great restaurant. It is the best place in West Bay to enjoy a lobster barito at lunch. Also the pasta at dinner time is worth the extra few steps it takes to get there. Try the mushroom and sausage pasta, it is fabulous.

My husband and I loved Las Rocas. We stayed there for 15 nights and loved every minute. It is in a perfect location as it is a great location at the end of the Hotel zone on a long beach with alot of visitors from the resorts and cruise ships. So you feel like you are at an intimate small resort with an excellent restaurant with gorgeous views. On the other hand you are close to other restaurants. The restaurant cooks to perfection for a reasonable price. I had the garlic lobster which was done to perfection with 3 tails cooked expertly. The breakfasts are hardy and delicious
