Amazing place to stay right in the centre of Montgenevre.Staff on reception very friendly, helpful and speak English. A short walk right out of the door and across the road and you are on the piste. Fabulous spa, apartments are just great.Small food outlet next door which is very handy and not too expensive . Don't hesitate to book.

Bit of a mixed bag with this hotel. We were very fortunate to be given the room with the largest balcony which the kids absolutely loved. Especially as there was still snow on it that they could play with. The rooms are smart and there’s plenty of storage space. The ski locker was huge and the heated boot rack was lovely. My husband and daughter had a massage at the spa which they both thoroughly enjoyed and the swimming pool was used by us almost every day. These were all fantastic parts of our stay. We were incredibly well positioned for getting straight out on to the slopes. The WiFi was very poor and kept dropping out so of an evening trying to let the kids watch something was almost impossible (the tv only had bbc world to watch in English). Noises from the rooms above are very loud. The sounds of furniture being moved constantly, scraping across the floor just gives you a headache. Maybe some felt bass on the bottoms of the chairs would help. The rules for the pool state no jumping etc but nobody is there to enforce these so as it got busier we would just leave the pool as other parents just let the children do what they wanted whilst they sat in the jacuzzi. Other than these few points a very good holiday

My family and I have been to the French ski resort of Montgenevre for the last four years. This year we decided to take a chance on staying in an appartement at the Residence Napoleon along with twenty of our close friends, having stayed in hotels on the three previous occasions. I have to say that we couldn't have made a better choice to make our skiing experience any more convenient and enjoyable. Convenient because the walk from the appartment building was close enough to the main lifts to avoid the annoying leg aches that ski boots can cause, when having to walk long distances in them, on surfaces which they were not designed for. Enjoyable, when after a long day of skiing, you can relax in a luxurious spa/swimming complex whilst contemplating the wonders of how you managed to tackle those challenging red runs whilst still managing to find your way to the bottom of the slopes in one piece! The appartments are well equipped with everything that you will need with all the basic items that you will need and a few added extras such as a Nespresso coffee machine. This may not be too everyone's cup of tea, (please excuse the contradiction), but to a true coffee lover, as I am, there is nothing better than the taste of a quality coffee first thing in the morning to set me up for the day ahead. This was made more superb when all I had to do in the first instance, was walk about 40 yards to the Spar supermarket to buy the Nespresso pods, as it forms part of the appartment building. My drinking preferences aside, if you are looking for a warmly received, well equipped, extremely well maintained appartment complex with caring and considerate staff in a very picturesque, family orientated ski resort, then you need look no further than the Residence Napoleon in Montgenevre. Oh, and by the way, as a final comment and one which is probably at the top of everyone's thoughts when considering this type of trip and establishment in this type of resort....... it doesn't cost an arm and a leg!

As 3 friends, we have just spent a later-season week skiing in these apartments in Montgenevre. My second time in Montgenevre, the first time about 36 years ago! These apartments are 4 years old. They are in the very centre of the main street through the viliage and directly facing the main ski area, perhaps 50m across the car parking area. Perfect. There is a full hotel-style reception area with very friendly staff and excellent indoor pool, hot tub, sauna, gym etc. We asked for an apartment facing the slopes if possible and that is exactly what we got. Two reasonable sized bedrooms, one en-suite. A good sized living area with 2 seater sofa bed, easy chair, tv with French, Italian, English, Dutch, German and more. Also a 6 seater dining table and a spotless kitchen area with fridge, hob, sink, dishwasher and combi oven / microwave. A separate bathroom and separate toilet and large walk-in storage cupboard with vaccuum cleaner, airer etc. The south-facing balcony was enormous with table and 6 chairs. The whole feeling was of modern good quality, style and spaciousness. There was a good fast lift to each floor and there were excellent and large individual ski and boot rooms for each apartment in the basement with heated boot racks. The boot room then had acess to the outside with key-code entry. There were, of course one or two minus points.: The whole apartment has hard floors, either tiled or wooden. Whilst this is easy to clean, it was unpleasent not to have at least rugs in the main sitting area and beside the beds. The balcony furniture needed cleaning before we could use it. There was no hand wash basin in the toilet which I consider to be most unhygenic and no toilet in the main bathroom which I personally find very inconvenient. Probably the most annoying feature was the choice of a touch-control cooking hob and a rediculously complicated touch-screen combi oven/microwave with no English instructions. (I am an electronics engineer and well used to dealing with control systems but it took me a very long time to work out how to use this, especially the standard oven). Most people probably wouldn't. A poor choice for such an apartment but it could be helped with a good instruction card in other languages. One toilet roll is supplied per toilet and a very small 'cleaning kit' with dishwasher tabs, washing up liquid and a few other bits, but the rest is up to you to buy when you run out. The beds were made on arival and towels supplied but no changes in the week. A point worth mentioning is that a damage deposit has to be paid on arrival and if a card is used, the money is actually taken from the account and then refunded (hopefully!) after leaving. This could have quite expensive consequences with some cards which charge for foreign use. A system of holding the card details as security would be much more satisfactory. Also a local visitor tax is charged at reception before departure. Currently €1.50 pp. We all felt this should be included in the overall price. Viliage facilities were good, for a small viliage. There is a very good, small Spar supermarket actually on the ground floor of the building with reasonable prices. Also 2 other supermarkets within easy walking distance. Bakeries, bars, restaurants, souveneer shops and ski shops all within steps of the apartment building. We particularly liked the underground cocktail bar which we found on the last day, almost exactly behind our building. Great atmosphere and music, even for us 'oldies'! Overall, a great week despite the spring conditions making one side of the valley look a bit devoid of snow, the pisteurs had done an excellent job of keeping even the lower ski runs in good condition. (And excellent on the higher slopes).

We stayed in January 2019 and had a great first time (for us) skiing. The accommodation was very clean and smart and the staff were very friendly and helpful. The facilities were also very good and much needed after long days where we would come back aching. The location is excellent being central and close to local amenities and opposite the ski school.I would recommend to any families wanting to learn or who simply enjoy skiing.
