Actually stayed last July 2015, then as I just booked a week for this year I remembered I didn't write a review.  This was a return trip to Lake Kipawa after last coming up the year after my father passed in 1994.  As a kid this was our yearly pilgrimage and back then we stayed in what used to be... We have been coming to Alwaki for quite awhile now. Have always had a great week. The Douglas family are great hosts. Hope to make many more trips. I have been coming to Canada since the early 50's and made many trips. I find the facilities to be very nice. We spend a week fishing. The cabins are clean, nice... More

If you're looking for a nice relaxing time in pristine wilderness, look no further. Hosts Brian and his wife were very welcoming and did their best to ensure you had all you need to enjoy your stay. Cabins are clean, running water and plenty of hot water. Despite it being in a "busy" part of the lake, you can still... More

Clean, well maintained cabins with excellent hosts. Days are filled with a array of water activities and nights are so peaceful. Watching the partridge and squirrels rustle about the island to spending night time hours gazing at the fire flies or the million stars that light up the skies. While lying in the confines of a cozy bed, listening to the... More

My visit to Alwaki was exceptional. The owners of the Lodge, Brian and Tina Douglas are super people. They make your stay great! I have stayed here for the past few years. This year the fishing for pickerel was fantastic. Brian was helpful in showing the places to fish. The lake is plentiful with fish and it is awesome to... More

I've been to Canada fishing on at least one trip every summer since I was a little boy...so over 40 trips and counting. Over this time, I've been all over Eastern Canada and have stayed in many "lodges" and "fishing camps" across the region. I can say with certainty that our time with Alwaki Lodge and the owners, the Douglas... More
