Excellent stay. They have the best beach throughout Galle with no rocks, limited current and warm water. Really great stay and very personalised service. Ruwan was especially good and helped us throughout the whole stay. Limited children and very quiet and peaceful. Would highly recommend.
Final hotel stay of our tour of Sri Lanka. Great location to relax directly at the beach - breathtaking sea views. The staff is super friendly and very kind. Especially Ruwan was very helpful and always there to assist us. Every day our bed was decorated with flowers in a different way - thanks to Dilshan. Food and service was excellent.
We arrived at the hotel after a lot of travelling with a tour. Lovely surprise to have the Indian Ocean right in front of you. We had fantastic sunsets to watch and photograph. The staff, as we have found across the country are extremely helpful and genuinely appreciated that we have come to visit. The hotel manager Ruwan was very accommodating and really wanted to ensure that we loved our stay. My only negative is that there was a very limited options for vegetarians but they did offer alternatives which I did appreciate. Lovely end to a fantastic holiday.
Incredible location, idyllic, pristine beaches, almost unreal. Beautiful hotel, gorgeous design, lots of space, even when it was full it didn't feel crowded. Lovely kind helpful staff. The shaded pool is a welcome blessing when it is very hot. Buffet breakfast very nice. A buffet evening meal might work better than the current 'set menu' and more veggie options please ☺️
This is a lovely small hotel on a beautiful beach. All the rooms are sea facing, which is a treat. The staff are friendly and helpful, and Ruwan went out of his way to check that we had everything we needed. The sea swimming is delightful - I had read reviews that suggested it wasn’t good, but my experience was that it was warm and clean and certainly calm enough during our visit - and the pool is a good place to cool off. Maybe more vegetarian food options would be a good idea, as my veggie friend was a bit confined choice wise, and more vegetables in general at meals would be great. Overall, (vegetables notwithstanding!) we are having a very relaxing and enjoyable stay.
This was the final hotel stay of our tour of Sri Lanka. The hotel is set in a stunning location just 50 metres from the sea. Our room was spacious and clean with excellent views of the sea. All rooms are sea facing. We stayed on a half board basis and menu choices were quite good with both local and European dishes available. Buffet service for breakfast and waiter service for dinner. Staff were very friendly and helpful, albeit, at times, a bit "forgetful".. Some of the sun loungers and umbrellas were looking a bit tired, but no doubt the hotel has a replacement strategy for when the economic climate improves. We did have a bit of an issue regarding late checkout option from our room, due to our pickup for airport arriving at 2300.. However, the duty manager, Ruway, resolved this to our satisfaction . Overall, a lovely, relaxing stay right by the sea. …
This was our last hotel on a 12 day tour around the island and we stayed for 3 nights. It has breathtaking views and a perfect place to relax with both the pool and the sea on your doorstep. The "beach boys" we were warned about do crowd the entrance to the beach a little but they weren’t actually as annoying as I’d braced myself for them to be… I was just polite and they were polite back. There were some women selling as well who were lovely and we bought some things from them which quite a few other guests did too. We did have a couple of issues with our room in that the shower head was leaking and spraying everywhere… the towel rail also fell off the wall as soon as I put a small towel on it but they fixed it quickly. When we arrived one of the lifts weren't working and the other broke half way through our stay which was a little frustrating as I'd hurt my leg in the ocean one of the days so the stairs were a bit of a challenge. Would have been awful for any disabled guests. The only other thing was that the spa treatments seemed very difficult to book. Every time we tried to do it at the desk, they said they'd have to wait to the next day but they booked up fast so we wanted to book the previous days for the next days. It seems maybe the communication between the spa staff and reception is a little lacking... they were advertising several facials in the book which both myself and my partner wanted to book and after several times trying, she told us she doesn't actually do those, only masssages. Aside from the great views, and great reception, the absolute highlight of this place is the restaurant and bar staff. Every single cocktail/milkshake/smoothie we ordered from Viraj, the bar tender, was genuinely the best things I've tasted ever. The melon milkshake in particular was insaneeeee. And finally a great pina colada!! He went over and above and even made a caramel coffee ice frappe off the menu when I asked if they did ice coffee. It was amazing and I miss it AND HIM already hahaha. The set menus are also delicious and presented beautifully. Each one's like a work of art. I'm already missing this place and can't wait to come back!…
Hotel is located directly on a beautiful beach which is nearly exclusive to the hotel guests, so it's not terribly crowded. Views from the room balconies are exquisite as well. Food was average, service was always friendly but sometimes lacking in their ability to communicate and multitask when there are many guests present. However we enjoyed our stay very much and would still recommend it. Cocktails and iced teas are absolutely fantastic, some of the best drinks we had during our two week stay.
Nice place, excellent food and very kind staff. Some staff are still learning. We can really recommend the grilled tuna and other fresh seafood. If you like relaxing on the beach in Sri Lanka this is the place to go.
We stayed at this hotel for five days following a tour of Sri Lanka. Check-in was quick and easy and we were greeted with a very tasty welcome drink. The hotel is a rather small one with direct access to the beach. the entire hotel, as well as the room, was in an extremely clean and well-maintained condition. All rooms had spacious balconies with sea views and fantastic sunsets. The sun lounger area on the beach was fenced off to keep out beach vendors who were always present. At first we found the "lurking" vendors annoying, but if you politely decline they actually leave you alone. At first we wondered why the security staff at the fence didn't send them away immediately, but then we realised that the hotel guests were quite willing to buy, which explains the situation. The beach itself was very clean and quiet. We were on a half board basis, which included breakfast and dinner a la carte. The restaurant staff were extremely polite and friendly, but somewhat inattentive. Despite few guests, there were sometimes long waiting times, especially at breakfast time and for drinks. Unfortunately, we did not receive what we had ordered several times, and they were not able to answer our questions about the ingredients of the dishes. Refills for tea/coffee were only given on request. Breakfast included various egg preparations, as well as local dishes or sweet breakfast. Lunch/snacks were also available in the hotel restaurant at a fair price (we paid about 50€ for drinks and 2 lunches during our stay). Dinner was delicious and consisted of appetizer, soup, main course (3-4 choices) and dessert, unfortunately for me as a vegetarian not so much choice, mostly only a vegetarian pasta alternative. The staff member Ruwan checked on our well-being daily and asked if everything was ok with our room. The hotel manager also checked on us often and was very friendly. All in all we had a good stay, this hotel is suitable for all those who want to relax and have peace and quiet. 1 point deduction because of the service in the restaurant, which could be improved, but the potential in the staff is there and can certainly be improved with a little training.…
