We had the Chunnel trip from hell and were delayed at Folkestone for over 7 hours. Thus the leisurely 3.5 hour drive down to A l'Ombre Bleue via a nice lunch somewhere arriving in time for dinner never happened. We arrived, finally, at 23:00 to a very friendly and personal welcome from Catherine. Despite the late hour she offered us... More

Catherine is the most wonderful host and her cooking is out of this world. You are made to feel part of her family throughout your stay and must eat at least one evening meal with her. These are incredible value given that she shares aperitifs wine and liquors with you all included in the price. The rooms are quirky and... More

This is a very, very special adress for pilgrims on the way to Santiago de Compostela and other travellers. You will feel welcome, get a nice glass of champagne and a lovely diner. We became friends in one night! The room looks like a photo in Elle Living or another fancy magazine and the atmosphere is cosy, warm and special.... More

We stayed here for one night on a cycle trip through France. It was the ideal stopover. The accommodation was very comfortable and it was lovely to be able to sit in the garden and enjoy the warm evening. The owner, Catherine, is lovely, very welcoming and helpful. Both dinner and breakfast were very good. Highly recommended.

Amazingly picturesque village, beautiful pond complete with ducklings and baby moorhens. A L'ombre Bleue is very pretty too. The garden is full of flowers, and the accommodation is comfy and has lots of little extras like a good coffee machine and pods, sweet and savoury biscuits, chocolates, milk and water in the fridge. Breakfast is included and has lots of... More

We stopped over for one night on way home to the UK at Catherine's delightful chambre d'hote. We stayed in the family room which was perfect with our two girls. Catherine was charming and helpful, greeting us on arrival with cold beer for the husband and guiding us on a lovely walk in the area. We ate at Catherine's table... More

I do not use the word 'perfect' lightly. We stayed here on route to Calais from the Midi-Pyrenees and after a long tiring trip L'Ombre Bleue was the perfect tonic. After resting in the beautiful and extremely comfortable room, we joined the other travellers and Catherine for the evening meal (optional extra cost - thoroughly recommended) which was delicious. The... More

My family and I have stayed once again with Catherine who is the most excellent and attentive hostess. We stayed in the two rooms in the barn conversion, which means we have now stayed in every room she has and each one is superbly decorated in her own unique way. The evening meal was delicious as always and she caters... More

Catherine is a wonderful host who decorated all the guest rooms with so much taste in a very romantic, individual and eclectic way. Breakfast is a pleasure and her table d'hote dinner is a delicious, social Event to look forward to. Would we come back? Definitely!

We stopped off at this little place on our journey down to the south of France. We received an amazing welcome from Catherine who provided everything we needed - and more for a lovely night's stay. Catherine is a wonderful host and fantastic cook!
