“This place is a hidden gem, located in a peaceful, lovely village. Behind the front door lies a wonderful treasure trove, comfortable well presented rooms with Catherine's unique touch. As a host Catherine is second to none, nothing is too much trouble. Dinner is a must, the food is superb and served at a communal table in her kitchen. Breakfast... More

What an absolutely beautiful place. The accommodation was charming everything you could ever imagine needed was there. Catherine made us feel so welcome. We had a booked an evening meal which if you get a chance we would thoroughly recommend doing. Catherine cooked a fabulous meal in her equally fabulous kitchen which was first class a real French experience our... More

We have been staying at A L'hombre Bleu for several years and are always guaranteed a warm welcome by Catherine. She cooks a wonderful meal and is always able to feed our very fussy daughter. We love staying here as Catherine makes us feel very welcome. The rooms are very comfortable too!

Quite a charming experience. Catherine has created a lovely B and B. Our room was full of books and ornaments and you can see Catherine's influence. This was enforced at supper time when we joined a Dutch family for a shared meal round the refrectory table. Our hostess treated us to a lovely meal of her own creation finished off... More

We had the Chunnel trip from hell and were delayed at Folkestone for over 7 hours. Thus the leisurely 3.5 hour drive down to A l'Ombre Bleue via a nice lunch somewhere arriving in time for dinner never happened. We arrived, finally, at 23:00 to a very friendly and personal welcome from Catherine. Despite the late hour she offered us... More

Catherine is the most wonderful host and her cooking is out of this world. You are made to feel part of her family throughout your stay and must eat at least one evening meal with her. These are incredible value given that she shares aperitifs wine and liquors with you all included in the price. The rooms are quirky and... More

This is a very, very special adress for pilgrims on the way to Santiago de Compostela and other travellers. You will feel welcome, get a nice glass of champagne and a lovely diner. We became friends in one night! The room looks like a photo in Elle Living or another fancy magazine and the atmosphere is cosy, warm and special.... More

We stayed here for one night on a cycle trip through France. It was the ideal stopover. The accommodation was very comfortable and it was lovely to be able to sit in the garden and enjoy the warm evening. The owner, Catherine, is lovely, very welcoming and helpful. Both dinner and breakfast were very good. Highly recommended.

Amazingly picturesque village, beautiful pond complete with ducklings and baby moorhens. A L'ombre Bleue is very pretty too. The garden is full of flowers, and the accommodation is comfy and has lots of little extras like a good coffee machine and pods, sweet and savoury biscuits, chocolates, milk and water in the fridge. Breakfast is included and has lots of... More
