I booked this hotel as a very last minute break. The hall was very impressive on first impressions and I was immediately welcomed by a lovely lady (I think her name was Ellen). She was really helpful and explained everything I'd need to know. I was shown to room 12 on the top floor. The room was really spacious and... More

We stayed in a the small double room overlooking the large gardens. The decor is simplistic which blends well with the dark wood in the rooms. Lovely lounge area with an awesome chess board. Breakfast was nice , tasty sausages from the local butcher. Short 20 minute walk along a country lane into Whitby. If your lucky enough the steam... More

Was very unaware that the b n b don't accept babies which is absolutely disgraceful . We turned up and was turned away to try and look for accommodation for the rest of our stay. This was 7 pm at nights after travelling 8 hours . Our baby was die his bed and feed .never felt so unwanted . After... More

Really just to say that due to circumstances that kept changing , we kept changing our dates and in the end had to cancel.I felt we were dealt with very satisfactorily as we were really awkward customers.

Stayed for 2 nights in July 2016 then hotel looked amazing from the outside but the inside let it down, the garden at the rear is very nice to sit and relax but it was clear that it was a job two much for the owner the boarders around the lawn were very neglected. The inside was tied and run... More

We stayed here 1 night and had a really nice time. There was not enough off road parking so we parked on the main road which was not at all a problem. The room and bathroom was dated which is a shame as it has huge potential to be spectacular with the views outside. However it was clean and the... More

Let's start with the positives. The location is excellent although slightly noisy for small village. Whitby is approximately a half hour walk away and there are regular buses and trains very close by. The full English breakfast was made with meat from the local butcher's and was excellent. Service was slightly slow at times though and the buffet bar was... More

We liked the anonymity of the place. we would usually stay in a large hotel because we are not the sort of people who "want to arrive as strangers but leave as friends!" LOL, as we have seen on some adverts. The owner was civil but not over friendly and this was fine by us. We take on board what... More
