Just spent 4 days here in loft bedroom plenty of space but very warm, hotel is plainly decorated but blends well for style of house, breakfast was nice very tasty sausages, view from bedroom was great across fields and watching trains go by,well worth a visit.

We stayed here 1 night and had a really nice time. There was not enough off road parking so we parked on the main road which was not at all a problem. The room and bathroom was dated which is a shame as it has huge potential to be spectacular with the views outside. However it was clean and the... More

Let's start with the positives. The location is excellent although slightly noisy for small village. Whitby is approximately a half hour walk away and there are regular buses and trains very close by. The full English breakfast was made with meat from the local butcher's and was excellent. Service was slightly slow at times though and the buffet bar was... More

We liked the anonymity of the place. we would usually stay in a large hotel because we are not the sort of people who "want to arrive as strangers but leave as friends!" LOL, as we have seen on some adverts. The owner was civil but not over friendly and this was fine by us. We take on board what... More

This is a lovely place if your looking for a quiet little get away but within walking distance from the bustle of Whitby town. room 10 was nice, quiet, view of the garden and the steam train passes throughout the day. Relaxed atmosphere, nice breakfast. we really enjoyed it and will go back again.

Last minute boo.king whilst visiting Whitby. Arrived at quite spooky looking hall, and was greeting by I presume the owner who showed us to a very large room with 4 poster bed with lovely fresh white linen sheets. Quaint room and views from two windows was nice. Breakfast in morning was good and were served orange juice, coffee, cereal and... More

We stayed in room 9. We were expecting a lovely time, having visited this hotel previously, albeit 6/7 years ago. Unfortunately standards have slipped considerably in that time. The guy at reception didn't even smile, and didn't give us any info about the hotel or the area, just breakfast times and where the breakfast room and bar were. The room... More

We decided to stay here because of the issues of finding easy parking in Whitby. The car park is free but very restricted in both space and access. I have a largish estate car and found it a real struggle getting into the car park. I would suggest that anything Range Rover size may not get in due to the... More
