I usually hold off on these kind of reviews, but I have been majorly let down. I booked the hotel on 22nd May to arrive on 29th May for a couple of nights. I met my partner just before lockdown and it was our first weekend away together. They took the money from the bank, and was looking forward to it. We arrived on the day, the hotel car park had cones across so parked up outside and walked in. The lights were dimmed and we were welcomed by a security guard. He said no when I said we had a reservation, clearly knew nothing about the hotel and went to get a colleague. His colleague told us that we could not be staying in the hotel as it was booked out by the government and no one was able to reserve. I had travelled down from Newcastle for the weekend with no where to stay on a bank holiday, luckily found somewhere else but cost me another £200 on top of what it would have cost at the Mercure No one to ring for my refund, just a couple of email addresses. No reply in 3 days. Bank Holiday is not excuse for the hotel industry as they run for 365 days of the year. Don't book unless you can get in touch with a member of staff, you can still book online even though you can't stay and no one will reply to refund you. I will be seeking comms with a senior member of the Jupiter group as this level of service for such a well known brand is not on.

We decided to get married last year and we visited here to look at the packages n seek out the venue. Could not have been happier and treated and better . We met Beth back in July who made everything very straight forward for us and was on hand right from deciding to book the venue . Our big day arrived and between Beth and Laura it could not have gone any more smoothly. We were very well looked after from the night before our wedding right up to checking out . Some of my family also stayed at the hotel and they were also very well looked after . The hotel itself is very accommodating right down to the little fine detail as having toothbrushes in the room . Our wedding reception was absolutely amazing the DJ arranged by the hotel the food provided by the hotel the accommodation the night before and the bridal suite for the night was all absolutely perfect. Laura was our master of ceremony and I can not thank her enough for being on hand all night for us. Massive thumbs up for Beth for being an amazing event organizer and Laura for being there every step of the way . Also thank you to all the staff who were very welcoming and very helpful and accommodating to all our needs . The breakfast is amazing the comfort of the rooms is amazing . Can not wait to come back and see you all

Decided at short notice to have a couple of days away, and chose the Fairfield Manor for it's proximity to the park and ride at Rawcliffe Bar. A n easy 10 minute walk level and Tarmac all the way. Our room on the ground floor was very close to reception, but quiet and peaceful. South facing warm and airy. A reasonable sized bathroom with bath and shower over. I must mention the bed it was enormous, a good half a nights hike to get a cuddle! Television and all the usual bits to make life bearable. The bar was close by, the restaurant where breakfast was served just beyond. In the lobby a choice of newspapers, very civilised. Breakfast was the normal buffet style, all there, excellent fried eggs, topped up with fresh regularly, decent bacon, what more do you need. The breakfast staff to more senior gents had a word for everyone. What a pleasant change from young people rushing about. The receptionist Will looked after us on arrival and was very helpful, polite and cheerful. We will use the Fairfield Manor again, good service and price, best of all handy for us!
