Detailed Reviews
We stayed here for one night on our trip across Canada in July, this year.
Wow great job, great staff, grounds look great, the setting is fabulous.
Meadow & Jordan you know how to make campers feel welcome a great quality for campground owners. The ice cream is a big hit with the kids and when the fire truck arrived oh well say no more.
The Christmas Parade and the Christmas decorations are a great treat for the kids.
Keep up the good work, and keep up making great memories for the kids who come & stay. Great Family vacation.

So clean and fully stocked with every little thing you may need. You might want to bring a bath mat as tub in our cottage was slippery. Glad dogs are not allowed in cottages as I love dogs but don’t want to share a bed or couch with one and we all know most dog lovers let their dogs on the couch and bed, I did too.
A great place to stay!
Like walking to town, a bike trail would be nice.

Thank you very much for for your kind words. We are so happy to hear you loved your cabin. Do you mean a bath mat for the floor as you should have had one or do you mean inside the tub? If you didn’t have a mat on your floor we are so sorry as you should have had one and I’ll speak to our cleaners. If it was the tub itself we will take a look and see if there’s anything else we can do.

Our site was overlooking the Mattawa River right on top of the hill. Beautiful view, ample space. Park is quiet, not noisy like other parks we have stayed at. Enjoyed floating and swimming in the river. Always something for the kids to do. Special events planned for almost every weekend. Well kept, clean and ATV trails are close by.

We camped here in mid September. The sites are good sized, the campground is clean, the staff is friendly. Our site was right along the water, fall colours were beautiful. Maybe just the time of year, but the water was very quiet with not a lot of traffic. We would definitely camp here again.

Thank you for your kind words. We appreciate you taking the time to leave a review and are happy to hear you enjoyed your time camping here with us. It’s truly pretty quiet most of the year. The river does get a bit busier certain times of the year but our campground remains a peaceful gem even during those times. Happy camping until we see you again.

Although it was nice and on the river the sites were way too small for my 43 ft Motorhome. I asked a few times before making the reservation and was assured the park was big enough, it was barely. the staff was really great to deal with. A good little store on site.

We rented one of the cottages available at Sid Turcotte Park. Every spring of the box spring mattress creaked making a good night sleep impossible and I can't imagine how old the bed is. The sheets were threadbare and almost ripping at the seams. The area rug in the kitchen was filthy. The BBQ grill was dirty and no cleaning brush or handy lighter to start it were available. Bring your own coffee maker (unless you want to experiment with a 1960s percolator), reading light, hangers, wine glasses and dish soap as none are provided.

Hello. I realize this is an old add but we are new owners and I would like to let you know that in the future we hope to open up a cabin as pet friendly. Details will be posted on our website and Facebook when we do. We would love to be able to have you stay at our park again, in a cabin since you no longer camp. Until then... Mattawa Adventure Camp offers cabins but I am not sure of their pet policy.

After staying in 5 Provincial parks, we were delighted to have reservations for 4 nights on the river with full hook up for our 40 ft 5th wheel. Owners Adam and Ginny were great. The campsites were large and very clean. Lots of trees that were trimmed so that the tree limbs did not rub on the RV. Road was wide and it was easy to pull into our site. Met some great people and we hiked the Eau Claire Gorge together. It was also a dog friendly resort too!!! Highly recommend for a couple or family.

My family and I stayed in one of the Cedar Cabins and my In-laws brought their RV and stayed on a campsite. What a beautiful park. My father in-law brought his boat up so the kids were tubing and fishing. My son caught the fish of a lifetime a big pike. He is still talking about it. The kids made friends with other kids that were there and they were always on the move, and having belly flop competitions on the diving board. A very peaceful place, I was really able to relax and keep mind off work. The cabins were well equipped, 2 bedrooms, with a kitchen and sitting area and cable TV. They were clean and much more modern than what you would expect. The staff were very friendly and the young girl who helps scoop ice cream does huge scoops!!! You can walk to town which is nice, so you can get your groceries. We are planning on returning next year. (I may return for a weekend with friends for some fishing.)

This is a really nice private park. The owners are very attentive and helpful even during construction. There are 2 small beaches for tubing and the scenery is great. If you enjoy canoeing, kayaking, fishing or going out on ATVs this place is fantastic. I do have family here and will return for a visit. The Town of Mattawa has some great scenic views right in town.
