We had a very pleasant stay. The welcome and detailed information about local attractions and recommendations from Jason the owner was excellent. We went to most of them and all were excellent. Breakfast was at a communal table and the service was a bit slow. The only negative was that we stayed for 2 nights and because we got a... More

We loved out stay in Tulbagh with the Cape Dutch Quarters. All the properties are on the old Kerk Straat and its in the centre of town within walking distance of the museums and restaurants. On our arrival at the office to book, we were treated with excellent service with the added bonus of being given a rundown of places... More

I recently had the unfortunate experience of staying in the Victorian House at Cape Dutch Quarter. We booked this accommodation as there were 6 of us and the Victorian House sleeps 6. On arrival we found that one of the rooms that was supposed to have 2 single beds in it was filled with boxes and didn't have any beds... More

Dear Craig. Again I appologise for your awkward stay at the Victorian house, although we had done our utmost to sort out the electricity issue, the problem was out of our control and related to a geyser that has now been replaced. It is also regretful that you were not happy with the compensation proposed and have chosen to condemn... More

All I really require is a clean bed and a place to shower. I DJ at a function venue outside Tulbagh and just don't want to return to Cape Town that late at night, especially after a few glasses of wine!

While the bed linen and towels were spotless, the carpets looked like they hadn't been lifted after the 1969 earthquake. Also, there were five leaks in the roof of our bedroom, fortunately not above the bed. Breakfast was very good, though and Tulbach and surrounds well worth a visit.

We loved CDQ when we were there 4 years ago. Decided to return and we had another great experience. Lovely spacious room beautifully decorated. It was cold outside but underfloor heating in the bathroom and aircon in the bedroom made our evenings nice and warm. Will definitely return again.

Tulbagh Art Route needed last minute accommodation for a VIP guest opening our Exhibition as start of our Christmas in Winter Festival. Jayson Clark and his office manager went to great lengths to secure a beautiful room in the heart of the village at a very reasonable tariff. Our guest was very impressed and will certainly recommend this facility to... More

This review is rather difficult to write, as I generally do not like writing an essentially negative review, but I have to as our experience was pretty grim this weekend. We booked into the Cape Dutch Quarters for a weekend away - we were attending a wedding. It was bitterly cold, but we knew this beforehand and came prepared. Whilst... More

Enjoyed our return visit after 6 years - staff were welcoming and every effort was made to make our stay enjoyable. Really appreciated the electric blanket to keep us warm and cosy at night. The hot water ran out the first night but we had a complimentary breakfast on our last morning which was very good and much appreciated. The... More

How lucky could I be to get accommodation during the Christmas in winter weekend. This guest house is idealy situated in Church street. My room was so comfortable and special care was taken with the service. Heater was switched on upon arrival so my room was nice and warm.
