From a sunny warm South African climate point of view, It is cold, it is expensive but it is BEAUTIFUL and worthwhile. My review will be based purely on the Ice Hotel and it's facilities. Not taking into consideration the lovely and nice warm rooms. Also keep in mind this was in winter with not much to do. Your cold...

We spent christmas ar the Icehotel, a very nice and strange experience. The place is absolutely beautiful, the palace/hotel made of snow and ice is a marvel and the bar and church are works of art! There is a warm area where you keep your things in lockers and where you can also take a warm shower in the morning...

I've been there in December 2013. An architectural masterpiece. Snow land. The most unforgettable memory for me: SnowMobile tour on frozen rivers and seeing a Reindeer in nature! We arrived at 13.30 to Kiruna airport and sky was nearly dark. Travelling to hotel with Huskey Sleds :) Once in a life time... A place must see...

Jukkasjarvi, Sweden, is becoming a common item on many bucket lists. A recent visit to this little village 120 miles North of the Artic Circle was quite interesting. Even though the Ice Hotel isn't there during the summer, for obvious reasons, the possibility to stay at a Laplandic bungalow remained. Some of the pictures show where the ice is harvested...

We started getting the feeling the visit here wasn't going to go as well as we'd hoped when we went across to the restaurant for dinner on the first night. Even though we were the first in the dining room, we were the last served. My partner and I watched as everyone else that came in was brought their bread,...

Had booked a Nordic bungalow for four during this winter trip. Check in was smooth and we quickly got our room key. It was cozy and clean, though rooms were a bit small. One of the rooms had bunk bed and the other was a queen bedded. There was a living area with a small TV, plus microwave oven and...

It was an adventure to go to this remote part of Sweden as part of our quest to see the northern lights. We wanted to stay at the Ice Hotel rather than just make a day trip as we were keen to wander around at leisure. We booked a warm hotel room rather than a cold/ice room although those are...

I stayed at the ice hotel as part of an organised group. It is rather expensive to visit but well worth visiting at least once. You are provided with a warm oversuit and snow boots if you want them during your stay and there is a warm room with large lockers for your bags and suitcases, there are also showers...

Spent a wonderful afternoon, evening and overnight in an ice room. Outside temperature -38, inside the ice hotel, -8, you can request a certificate when collecting your sleeping bag. Facilities very clean, staff very helpful and treated each couple as special. The lunch in the restaurant was full buffet style and excellent value, the evening meal was heavenly. The wine...

Although it was a very short visit in Jukkasjärvi Icehotel I enjoyed every minute! It was so intense with all the excursions we made. We arrived at lunch time, had an excellent lunch and then discovered the surroundings. In the evening we drove snow scooter to a cabin where we had dinner. When we came out from the cabin we...
