The Playa Pesquero Hotel comes highly recommended for its excellent service, as guests have called out the staff's friendly and professional demeanor. Cleanliness is another highlight, with travelers consistently noting the immaculate conditions from rooms to beaches. While offering good value, some guests feel there are limitations regarding food and amenities.

Once again a wonderful vacation in this resort, which has become our annual destination in Cuba. First and most I want to mention the professional services of Mrs. Yadira (reception manager), Maikel (24h restaurant) and Mrs. Pula (housekeeper). I would also like to thank all the other members of this wonderful resort who make all possible efforts to offer us a memorable vacation. Positive: - From the moment we arrived, the front desk staff made us feel welcomed and went above and beyond to ensure our stay was comfortable. They were incredibly professional, accommodating, and always ready to help with a smile (we always had the room in the area/block we wanted – our 4th visit to this resort and over 15 times to Cuba -, prompt response and solutions for a late check-out, etc.) - A special thank you to Mrs. Pula who kept our room spotless throughout our stay. Her attention to detail did not go unnoticed, and it was such a pleasure to return to a fresh, clean room every day. - gala reception for return clients: you really feel appreciated and special; - ice cream bar. - the beautiful beach: snorkeling right next to it (I suggest water shoes), scuba diving available 5-10 minutes' walking distance (very good place for snorkeling as well)
Negative: we should have booked a 14-day vacation instead of 7. Notes: Cuba is struggling with food and supply shortages. If the goal of your vacation is food and the diversity of drinks, choose another location, country, continent. Having said that, traveling with my family including my 15-year-old boy (who is like me and my wife and adapts quickly and not picky about food) and with my 9-year-old boy (a little bit difficult from a culinary point of view) we didn't have any issues with the food (I must mention that we brought certain spices and snacks with us). Indeed, 2 days out of 7 we couldn’t find eggs for breakfast (what a tragedy...:)), there was no beer in the room fridge also 2 days out of 7 (imagine how tragic it is in on an all-inclusive resort open 24 out of 24), no mint, so no mojito, that's how we discovered our new favorite cocktail (Green Eyes - at the beach bar) As a suggestion: Get an a vacation mindset and don't sweat the small stuff! I can’t recommend this resort enough and will definitely be returning for another stay. Thank you to everyone at Playa Pesquero for making our vacation truly unforgettable…once again! If you want more information about this resort (from my honest point of view), suggestions, do not hesitate to contact me.

I had the pleasure of staying in the premium section of the Playa Pesquero hotel. With only 56 rooms, this section offers an exclusive and luxurious atmosphere, perfectly in line with my high expectations. Having stayed at Playa Pesquero several times before, I knew I was not wrong.
Upon arrival, I was greeted warmly with a glass of sparkling wine and check-in was quick and efficient. The butlers made sure all my requests were met, making my stay even more enjoyable. My room was spacious, clean and nicely decorated, located near the pool which was very convenient. I particularly appreciated the walk-in closet, which provided ample space to store my belongings. My minibar was replenished each day and the turndown service, including replacement beach towels, was a much appreciated little extra luxury.
I ate my meals only at the Premium restaurant, and every meal was a delight. The breakfast with eggs cooked to order was excellent, and I was lucky enough to enjoy lobster every day for dinner. Chefs were creative despite supply challenges. The staff, always smiling and attentive, made my meals even more enjoyable. The mojitos and pina coladas were some of the best I've tasted. In addition, I had the opportunity to taste 11 and 12 year old rum as well as the Pacto Navio sin hielo naturally.
The entertainment was one of the highlights of my stay. The entertainment team was dynamic and engaging. I loved participating in the games, playing volleyball and taking dance lessons. The sea is beautiful, and there is plenty of shade at the beach. It is also possible to do freediving directly in front of the hotel. I enjoyed every moment spent enjoying the beach, the shows and the themed evenings.
Strong points : Beach Party on Tuesday: An incredible atmosphere with music and dancing. Cuban Day on Thursday on the premium side: Live music that adds an authentic and festive touch. Cuban Day on Friday on the regular side: Very entertaining bartender competitions. I also really liked the Mojito Bar and the Beer Garden on the regular side, perfect for relaxing and enjoying a friendly atmosphere.
Points to improve : Karaoke: Should be done at the sports bar like before for a better atmosphere. Shows: They should include more Cuban dancers to enrich the cultural experience.
I would like to extend my special thanks to each of the staff members, even if I do not have the chance to name them individually. Their hard work and dedication made all the difference, and I am grateful for their contribution to the success of my trip.
My stay in the premium section at Playa Pesquero will remain engraved in my memory as an unforgettable experience. I found my little corner of paradise in Cuba. I only have one desire: to go back there as soon as possible.

I have just returned from a week's holiday at Playa Pesquero from 27 November to 4 December. I went there without much expectation because with everything we had heard, the current, food etc. We had a very nice week. An amazing beach and beach, food side we missed nothing, eggs from homemade omelets every morning, fresh juices, pancakes from churros etc.. Really it was good, only small negative point, lack of condiments (Ketchup, Mayo, hot sauce etc) Because no sauce on almost nothing, so a little dry sometimes. A la carte restaurant we ate well at Romantico and Italian. A pizza bar on the beach and an à la carte restaurant on the beach very popular and the Cubans are super friendly, impeccable service from A to Z. I will go back in my life it is some, really not disappointed. you will greet Madé if you ever see her, an angel who looked after my room all week, they are very grateful I love the Cuban people.

This being my first time to Playa Presquero it was a amazing time, exactly what I needed. As someone with a disability and traveling solo, I decided to upgrade to Luxury rooms for not much money extra. It was well worth it. With Luxury you get a personal team(butler's)that takes care of you. You need a ride around the resort call they will personally pick you up from your room and drop you off anywhere you want on the resort. If your sick/drunk/lazy they will bring food to your room for free. You get 50% off of spa the price was so good I had a massage almost everyday. The staff and the masseuse were a 10 out of 10, they say they have a cold shower but it is Cuba cold shower, I would call it a cool shower. You get one romantic beach dinner for free of lobster, steak, pork, chicken and sides dishes cooked to perfection, you can also pay a small price to go any night you would like, again the price was so good, I decided if I wasn't at a a la carte I was eating there. You get 50% of laundry service, so I got them to wash my clothes, no laundry when I got back home from trip amazing, at way less of a price than I expected. You get a free bottle of rum which would cost atleast $50. Beer, juice and water stocked in your fridge everyday. The butlers brings desert to your room every night. The butler staff was amazing they went above and beyond the service I expected, there attention to details and customer service was incredible 10 out of 10. I have been to cuba 4 times this is the first all inclusive I've been to that is truly wheelchair accessible. I will definitely be back with my family or solo. The front desk also had amazing customer service 10 out of 10. I would like to say a special thanks to the butler's Yunior, Leandro, Erik, Lianet, Osmany and Raul what a amazing team. I will miss them all.

My comment will not follow previous opinions, but it is a personal opinion. Having worked in hotels in Cuba and other tropical destinations, I have several comparisons.
First of all, there is a major problem in Cuba at the moment: the shortage of products and foods of all kinds and service. This is a situation never seen before. Cubans are rationed on everything they buy such as gasoline, food etc. The shortage is also reflected in hotels, particularly for food.
The salad bar consists only of cabbage and sometimes carrots. Although there is dressing at the buffet, in some a la carte restaurants we received coleslaw with no oil, nothing.
There is no tomato sauce for the pasta although it is indicated on the menu. It's either a white or brown sauce, both look questionable.
No fresh fruit, except sometimes unripe pineapples, they put canned fruit.
At lunch we saw hamburger steak. and imperial rolls at the buffet because there was nothing and even a pitcher of cola because there was no more juice.
As for the à la carte restaurants, it is mainly the same food as the buffet but served at the table with not always pleasant service. We were served a piece of bread as hard as a brick.
To order pizza at the beach, you have to be patient, because the wait can last a very long time.
We had a bottle of spring water every day in the room but in the restaurant it was tap water.
As for the rooms, some are better than others, but the hotel needs a good renovation. The mirror in the bedroom was going to fall. The cleaning was hardly done, they put the dirty glasses back in their place without cleaning them. Some showers had almost no pressure. There were days when we didn't give toilet paper.
We were not aware that the situation was as it was in Cuba and we believe customers should be aware and purchase wisely. For a really cheap package, it can be okay, but overall, it's more of a 2* and not a 4.5*.

The resort is very nice but it is missing basic things. The main ones are hot water and drinkable water. The drinkable water is only available in the room (1.5 liter per day per room). Everywhere else is what they call filtered water, which is in fact tap water with mould taste. The personnel is great nevertheless: Mabel and Millie at restaurant reservations always smiling and finding a way to make everyone happy, Yuni the lady at the beach towels one of the best in the resort, Yusmary always taking care of our drinks, Camelia with the best chicken in the resort, Yarina with the best cafe frio in the coffee shop in the lobby, Tayra always making sure that all is going well at Caletone restaurant and last but not least Marieta at the Romantico restaurant. And the list could go on with the lady at the ice cream bar for example but I will stop here. The food better than last year but still no french fries, no shrimps, tomatoes only twice in 2 weeks. The only fresh fruit only pineapple, the rest was canned.

Stay at the Hotel Pesquéro in luxury formula new this year. Very nice stay in a nice big room a little old, but very clean. We lacked everything in the fridge, beers, water, juice, gin and tonic. Bath towels changed twice a day, beach towels changed in room etc.private valet parking for us wow* and always a man major ready to do us a favor. For the à la carte restaurant, we ate well, yes, it is cuba, but I did not pay 1900$ so for the price, it was very good. For the buffet there was a bit of everything in the evening and in the morning at lunch egg, omelet, pancake, waffle, churros bacon etc. The beach very beautiful, in luxury, we had a private section with a waiter for drinks and another for beach chairs, Carlos who did an excellent job. Turquoise water and long beach to walk. Swimming pool, in luxury again there, beautiful private pool with a waiter Edisney Gonzalez who served us like kings, for the other pool for all , large pool for children and adults with indoor bar, music, entertainment, foam etc. The lobby is very good in the evening, several musicians to put us in the Cuban atmosphere wow and that's what we like in the evening, have a drink with beautiful music. Also tips in CAN.1$ or 2$ are accepted, but please exchange their change from time to time for a 10$ or 20$ paper, as the change is taken with it at the bank. Ex: I gave about $60 in change. When I left, I changed them for $3x20.You put it in a bag, in your suitcase and everything is done and you did them a great service. The strength of the pesquero is are very friendly personal. Thank you to Tania Sanchez Reyes for everything is good advice when booking.

Why I rated so low… No bottled water offered at bars or restaurants- only filtered which had a distinct smell and flavour of dirt. We were provided one large water bottle each day in the room and bought water from the gift shop to supplement at a cost of $4 usd.
The food was the exact same every meal everyday. The only thing that changed was the omelette station turned to grilled beef or chicken at dinner and lunch. Fruit was either a canned looking glob of orange stuff or unripe pineapple or pale watermelon. One time there were brown and black bruised bananas. If you enjoy eating a lot of cabbage and rice you’ll be good. Best thing I ate all week was the food on our excursion (Bay Adventure).
The grounds are beautiful and clean. Every staff member we encountered were top notch professionals and cheerful.
There are long golf carts that transport resort guests all over this huge resort.
The beach is lovely, although a lack of shady spots.
We found the demographic of the resort guests to be mostly Boomers. Grey and bald heads as far as the eye could see. So if you’re a Boomer- this place is for you! Even the music played is from the Boomer generation. No disco here.
Room was comfortable with lots of hot water, good air conditioning, comfy bed and extra pillows. View was nothing special but pleasant. Toilet paper was rationed and some days were were provided paper towels instead. Bring some TP and tissues.

This is quite a large resort split between two beaches. The one beach seems to be quite noisy while the side with the premium area is much quieter. Both beaches are amazing. Lots of white sand and no weeds There is enough shade for everyone and you don’t have to play the “towel game” to get a spot. Some tours actually moor just off the point for snorkelling, so it’s a great spot to snorkel and there is a coral reef there Some people take the paddle boats out and snorkel off those. The pool is like one large, continuous pool divided by a bridge. I only saw the one pool bar but never actually used it.There is also a totally separate pool for luxury people. I upgraded to Luxury when I arrived, and I believe it was worth the upgrade. Rooms are great, very clean, everything worked and there is beer, water, Fanta and juice in the fridge. There is also a coffee maker, coffee pods and sugar but no milk or creamer, so bring your own.. You also have drivers that will take you every in the golf carts marked “Luxury”. All the food at the restaurants has been very good. I have enjoyed everything. The buffet for breakfast is great with omelettes, toast, fruit and fresh churro's, but I personally found it a bit lacking for supper. There was something to eat, I just wished there had been a bit more variety. The lobby is massive with lots of seating, and some of the best coffee at the coffee bar. They make Irish coffee, Spanish coffee, cappuccinos, and anything else you can think of that is coffee related. Now for the service…the butlers, the drivers, the wait staff at the buffets and the restaurants are amazing…then there is the lobby service. I have been sitting and listening to a saxophone player and other music for an hour, and not one person stopped to ask if I wanted a drink. This has happened every night that I have been here. I don’t know if they think because I’m solo I don’t need service, or if they think they will get better tips from a larger group, but not once have I been asked. So this really is my only complaint. Will it stop me from coming back? No. I really enjoyed my time here. I just hope the lobby servers realize that a customer is a customer. Whether you are single, a couple or a group, we all deserve service. As for tipping, people are using both Canadian coins and US dollars. Just pick your preference. I tip in Canadian and then switch out bills for coins with the wait staff. So if you don’t mind a larger resort with amazing beaches and good food, and you don’t mind being ignored in the lobby, then this is the place to be.
