Exceptional experience while traveling to Boquete. We stayed last night and jad a first class experience. The rooms are modern, clean, and everything worked as it should. We even had a full size refrigerator. We had dinner and breakfast at the hotel and it was first class. I had smoked chicken and it was fantastic. The breakfast was robust and included fresh fruit, fresh breads, typical hot dishes, euro cold meat and cheese selection, and an incredible oatmeal that was made with cream. There is a huge bar and a poolside bar. I would easily stay again, especially at the price rate of about $80.

Past by while driving, getting late, this place looked good. So, I backtracked, and very happy I did that. Super clean, cost me $114, including breakfast. If I said anything negative, I couldn’t find. I would say that breakfast is a little weak. But, there is a charming lady cooking omelets, so what more can you ask for? It was better than Holiday inn Express breakfast. Swimming pool area looked really inviting, although I didn’t get a chance to use it. I think it was perfect for me as a westerner, traveling through.

Stayed there in December of 2014 as well as part of January 2015, a total of 8 days. I got a room on the first floor facing the pool. Very convenient! Private outdoor lounge area perfect for reading the morning paper, sipping coffee, and hanging up a wet bathing suit. The room was clean and the bedding was nice. AC and hot water were always working. They also have in room coffee makers with Puro Duran Cafe. I had them triple the supply each day. (Coffeeholic!)
The health club is very nice also. Had everything I wanted except a Stair Master, but I used the elliptical instead. No problem. They also have showers, sauna, and towels. Locals also have access but there were very few during the times I worked out. Never crowded!
Pool is large and plenty of seating for everyone. Also has a swim-up bar which I didn't use. If I have a complaint, it's a small one, the pool could use a little more chlorine and cleaning. I own a pool so I know what it's supposed to look like.
The staff were all VERY accommodating, including warming up my pizza in the restaurant. Speaking of witch was not very good the only time I ate there. I have heard the breakfast is much better. I'm not a dining aficionado so an on-site restaurant is not something I'm very interested in. All-in-all I would highly recommend this hotel.

The hotel facilities are comfortable and pleasant. However, I rate this hotel as bad because the most essential thing, which is the attention, warmth and friendliness of the staff, is TERRIBLE. It is rare that someone from the staff treats the guest with kindness. I have come several times for work and it is always the same. Fist faces from everyone at breakfast, at the reception, everywhere. Breakfast is more carbohydrates and sugar, without vegetable options and obviously with that staff that looks like they are going to hit you, there are no options to order something different.

We stayed at this hotel while trekking through Panama. The hotel recently opened (about 2 months ago). Our room was beautiful. The gym, landscape and children’s play area under construction. Once the hotel is complete and they have the right staff with manners employed. This hotel has potential to be excellent. Our experience while staying at hotel was unpleasant with the exception of the front desk. She was very helpful at suggesting local restaurants and points of interest to visit. We decided to eat dinner at the hotel restaurant (big mistake). The host was appalled because we went through the front door to the restaurant and we did not enter the door that adjoined the restaurant from the hotel room side.WOW, really lady! When we were seated, many items on the menu were not served and our server would roll his eyes when we chose something that was not available, although it was on the menu. We are very patient couple and are able to tolerate rudeness. Nevertheless, the level of rudeness was too much. We left the restaurant and ate at the local restaurant the front desk suggested. In the morning, we had a better experience with the hotel restaurant (different staff and very polite). The steak and tomato was excellent and well cooked. It was tender and great flavors. Once the hotel gets rid of its kinks, it will be a great place to stay.

Stayed at this new hotel two days ago. Although is not completely finished, it is a very well thought project. The hotel has around 90 rooms which are very comfortable. There are meeting rooms are not totally finished as well as the gym. But all this will be finished soon. Rooms are a bit on the small size but bedding is excellent. There is a desk to work, excellent wi-fi connection, coffee maker, good air conditioner, and a bathroom with a super shower head. Lower level rooms facing the pool area (which is beautiful!) have a patio with table and chairs. A full service bar is big and vey well decorated. The restaurant is great and prices are low!. Food is preapred by an accomplished local chef and was delicious. Tried an eggplant appetizer that was great. And the entree was a beef filet with a blue cheese sauce that extraordinary. For dessert, the flan was decadent. The expresso was very well prepared. This hotel opened two weeks ago and still needs to be finished and minor service issues ironed out. But the owners are well aware of the issues and are taking corrective measures. The Mykonos is sure to become a landmark not only in the city of Santiago but in the country of Panama.

This was a nice place to spend the night on our travel to Santiago. The staff was great. The rooms are clean and neat. The bathroom (a week area in Panama) was clean but could have been cleaner. That evening when I took a shower the water was warm but not really hot. However when I took a shower in the morning the water was steaming hot.
We used the bar while we there. Being old folks we did not appreciate the extremely loud music being played by a DJ. The sad part was we were the only ones in the bar for a long time.
The free breakfast in the morning is substantial it had many of the local Panamanian staples along the serving line. You can get an omelet made for that turned out to be pretty darn good. The coffee was good and they also offered Tea and Orange Juice.

If all you are looking for is a good room, this is it. Nice rooms, internet and beautiful pool. DO NOT EAT THERE! Food is terrible and the service is the worst we have seen anywhere. We were one hour and fifteen minutes waiting for our steak, to the point we LEFT! No one noticed we had left and no one tried to stop us! It is a shame the owners do not get enough staff in the kitchen so that people get served. Not great food (we have been here before), but at least a meal after a long journey from Panama City. So if you do not mind going out to dinner, stay here and dine elsewhere. We even had to get up from our table and get our drinks from the bar ourselves.

The hotel is located at the entrance of Santiago de Veraguas - aprox. 300 km from the Tocumen International Airport in Panama City. it´s only a few months old; and fits perfectly into the scenery - compared to the new mall which is currently under construction a few hundred meters away from the hotel.
Check-in was quick; the staff helpful. The lobby is large and tastefully designed - open and wide spaces. Due to the "open doors", the lobby is not really air-conditioned and Panama is HOT and HUMID.
The rooms are nice - but the aircondition is relatively slow and it took almost 30 minutes to get the room cooled down. My call to check, if the aircondition is working was answered politely and maintenance came after 5 minutes - equipped with the latest IR thermometer - to tell me that everything´s OK but the aircon needs time.
A clean room; good stable internet (complimentary); a nice large flat TV and a coffeemaker are part of the room.
The elegant bathroom was also very clean - with a nice tropical shower. Wooow...
Outside, a large swimming pool with chairs - nice to relax; I wish I have had time to do so.
In the main building, there´s also a gym: new and modern equipment (cardio, weights, machines); very well maintained. On certain days/hours, classes are given (mixture of cardio and flexibility training) - participation is free for hotel guests.
There are no eating options in near walking-distance of the hotel so I decided to try the restaurant. Dinner was excellent; great food - but a bit pricy for Panama.
Breakfast the next morning was a bit disappointing: very small portions and again - another restaurant with artificial orange juice. Disgusting!
All in all: nice place - possibly one of the best (or the best?) you can find in/around Santiago.
If I come back? Sure!

As a Panama travel expert focusing on the interior of Panama, I think this is the best place to stay in the area. It's new, fresh, with a great decor and location on the east side of town. You can still get anywhere as it's on the Interamerican Highway, but it's away from the bustle of the center of town.

Coiba island isa ways from Santiago where the Mykonos hotel is located. I don't believe they rent scuba gear. Your best bet is to contact one of the dive clubs that dive in the Coiba area. i.e. Panama Dive Center, Coiba Dive Center or Scuba Coiba all located in Santa Catalina
Yes, I advised against driving between David and Santiago. However, if you have a car and you want to drive then do so. The busses make it all the time. The road was in very bad condition and is currently under construction. It will take a couple of years for them to complete all of the new road.
If you do drive...look at google maps and you will see a road #5. The Panamanian's call it the coast (or ocean) road even though you will not see the ocean. The road will take you down through Sona. The turnoff to #5 is after El Nancito and before Tole. It is a nice road. Just make sure you have plenty of gas as the Sona is the next gas station.
We really like taking this road but we have not driven the Panamarican highway in a year now because the road is so bad.
You can take the bus from David if you do not want to drive. If you do drive make reservations at the Mykonos as they have been busy and I would hate to have you show up only to find out that they are full.
I hope this helps...Let Tripadvisor know if you need more information. And if you do drive please let me know the current progress on the construction of the new roadway.
