This was our first visit to the Island of Kos and Kefalos town. After much deliberation we chose the Sacallis Inn Hotel as our base for a weeks holiday due to its close proximity to the beach as described in other reviews. The location is superb and the family run hotel did not disappoint us. Ideally situated for those looking for a relaxing stay with a lovely seafront to walk along for a bit of exercise. There is also the choice of a more taxing walk up hill into the old Kefalos town to view the old castle ruins and taverns which we enjoyed also. The hotel owner Stamatis and his family made us very welcome. The room we were given came with a sea view and a view of the picturesque Kamari Island with its little blue and white chapel which is illuminated beautifully at night just a short distance away. The room was on the small side but adequate for our needs with air conditioning available at extra cost. The bathroom again is on the small side but perfectly adequate. The hotel is nice and clean and the food is both delicious and in the traditional Greek style (souvlakis etc) all freshly prepared and cooked superbly. We liked it so much we ate there every evening in the end despite the availability of other good tavernas being close at hand. The restaurant is called Antonio’s and is right next to the beach which also adds to the ambiance and holiday feel. The hotel is open to non residents and many locals also chose to eat there and use the beach/bar facilities (sun beds etc at extra cost €10 per day at time of our stay) which we found reassuring. There is also a great many day trips you can go on from Kefalos , we went to the island of Nissyros for the day with its volcanic crater and beautiful monastery and loved it.a All in all we found The Sacallis Inn a great place for a holiday and would not hesitate to return there in the future.

So, despite a shaky start which was 100% down to our tour operator (& they weren'tany help at all), we can only say that Stamatis and his family & staff made this a truly special holiday. Stamatis went above and beyond to make sure we were comfortable and happy and made us feel so welcome. The food was absolutely superb, we felt no need to eat anywhere else. The bar was well stocked, housekeeping impeccable and the location faultless. We are already planning our return for September 2023 - and will be booking directly.

I have stayed at this hotel several times before although not for 3 years due to Covid. The Sacallis family welcomed me with open arms and made me feel as if I had never been away. The hotel is right on the beach with fantastic views across the bay and consistently wonderful food. I had the misfortune to become poorly whilst there and Stamatis arranged for a doctor to call and could not have been more helpful allowing me to stay in my room for the few additional days it took me to recover. Thank you to the Sacallis family, Stamatis, Petia and Angela, for looking after me so well and also to Lisa. I would recommend this hotel to anyone wanting the traditional Greek holiday experience.

Booked for my husband's 60th birthday and we were pleasantly surprised at how beautiful the views from the hotel are. Our room was on the side and had a sea view from the balcony, a lovely place to sit and relax. Rooms are clean, reasonably sized with adequate storage and the benefit of a fridge. Bathrooms are very Greek in style, the shower curtain does not tend to contain all the water so be prepared for anything nearby to get wet! Clean and functional however; towels and bedding are clean. We did find our mattress too hard for our comfort - but we asked for additional pillows which were instantly provided. We found all staff friendly and incredibly helpful, they really can't do enough for you. Communal areas are clean and tidy - there's a large lounge area at the front of the hotel. The bar is next to the pool and forms part of the taverna which overlooks the whole bay - it really is stunning; we spent many hours just watching the wind surfers perfecting their skills and enjoying watching the world go by - slowly. We had opted for half board which is not generally something we do in Greece - breakfast was the usual continental type, served to you to reduce the risk of Covid transmission: we found it perfectly adequate. It would have been nice to have fresh fruit rather than tinned but I suspect that may have been time of year as much as anything else. Dinner in the evening was a choice of salad type starters (Greek salad, tzatziki, hummus, taramasalata) and a choice of three main courses - initially, I was a little disappointed as I had assumed we would be able to choose from the main menu (or from parts of it up to a certain value perhaps). However we soon discovered that whatever we chose was cooked to perfection, a generous portion and any questions we had were fully answered in order to make an informed choice. We always choose to eat Greek food when in Greece and there was always a traditional dish available and usually a vegetarian option too. There was no choice as to dessert - honey cake, baklava or ice cream as a rule but the most enormous portions! We chose to eat from the main menu on our final evening and the souvlaki is incredible - the best we have ever had, genuinely. If you are half board and choose from the main menu, a 30% reduction applies. Never having been to Kos before, we hired a car for a couple of days to explore - well worth it, car hire is very reasonably priced, navigation reasonably straightforward and it's a really stunning island. Nice and quiet as we were right at the beginning of the season but the locals are anticipating a busy summer. We were sad to see so many all inclusive resorts, sometimes progress really isn't a benefit; but for those of us who genuinely love our traditional Greek holidays, they are still there to be found and Sacallis Inn epitomises perfection in that regard. Highly recommended, absolutely loved our week there.

Room Tip: There is some road noise and also noise from the taverna. Worth it for the view.

Another fantastic stay at The Sacallis Inn Beach Hotel in Kefalos. Stamatis and family once again have made our stay a wonderful one. Rooms are well sized, clean and have views of Kamari Bay. The food and hospitality at Antonio’s Restaurant is absolutely fabulous. A choice of traditional Greek food, Italian, Asian and seafood which are highly recommended. Friendly staff, nothing is too much trouble. A fabulous place to unwind and enjoy. Thank you Stamatis. Already looking forward to booking our return next year

What an absolute treasure. Stayed here for the wedding of two friends. From our first meeting on arrival with Stamatis we knew we were going to have a terrific time. The hotel itself is clean and smart. The rooms may not be massive, but they don't need to be - who needs to sit in their rooms? What really makes this place is the staff and the amazing restaurant (Antonios). The food is literally the best I have ever eaten. Fresh fish and ingredients must be tried to be believed. This family run establishment is first class, and my highlight? The beautiful, funny and delightful, Betia (Jesus, Andy!!). Just remember, red wine in greek is Kokkino krasi, or she will correct you! I miss you already, Betia and Stamatis. Hope to come back again soon. Much love. Petra and Andy

Kos was never meant to be for all inclusive..the island's reputation has been built on the traditional Greek hospitality This hotel is exactly that in that it has been a family run business for over 30 years. The staff (that means every person...from the breakfast ladies...waiter and cooks) are passionate about fulfilling the perfect holiday ..the location is picture postcard perfect, on the beach with fantastic food home cooked food which is 11 out of 10..easy reach of local shops and amenities Above all Stamatis and his family will and have done everything and more to make our stay truly memorable..we never stay at the same place twice but this time we will be hard pushed not to...thank you And remember...Stamatis Stamatis is the man if he can't do it...no one can

Where to start...beach fronted, great location even better family running the place. Stimatis and his family made a brilliant holiday even better! The chefs who cooks for the hotel restaurant are out of this world...we normally eat at a different place every night - this was our 3rd visit to Kefalos so we know a few places, after eating here once we ended up having 5 of our 7 evening meals here! Incredible! From the 2 ladies who do breakfast (cereal, yoghurt and honey/fruit or bread cheese and meats - best selection at any hotel we have stayed at in Kefalos) to the bar staff, to the chefs...everybody made us feel welcome and had a good laugh with us! Try speaking greek - the locals really appreciate the effort. My (new) wife and i got married whilst in Kefalos...we planned to eat somewhere else on our wedding night when we were heading out but after eating here, we had to allow these guys to sort something! Stimatis ordered us a massive red snapper for 4 of us...it was incredible! I really can't say enough about the place, they made Joanne and myself feel really special on our wedding day - sending up Prosecco in an ice bucket and making our room over beautifully - we never asked nor paid for this - they just did it out of lovliness. I genuinely can't wait to go back next year...i have missed so many good things off of this review so apologies to the owners and staff...but thank you for a great week, we loved it.

Sitting on my last evening on the beautiful island of Kos, my partner and I having quad biked around the north shore, both feel we were blessed to find such a peaceful place to stay. The staff are lovely, the rooms are clean and tidy. We have been made to feel welcome and have thoroughly enjoyed every second of our stay. Sacalis is a twenty minute walk to the town and a two minute walk to the sea. The sea on this side of the island is peaceful and clear. And the sunrises over the beautiful bay that is the vista that you awaken to every morning. There is also a bar and taverna if you don't fancy going anywhere for the evening. All with the same friendly service. Thank you all at Sacalis for a memorable holiday.. particularly after covid.
