We only stayed for 1 night before flying home and were really pleased with it. Its a friendly family run hotel right on the beach. there's a lovely pool, bar and restaurant on site. the food and drinks were lovely and very reasonable. The hotel is basic, basic rooms, beds, bathrooms etc. But for the price.. you cant go wrong.. the location couldn't be better. Super friendly people.. very accommodating. We would definitely use the hotel again. If its cheap and cheerful, friendly staff and lovely pool area right on the beach, this is definitely worth a look!!

Location is wonderful, room, pool and hotel clean at all times.
BUT,their radio goes on at 8.30am and off when the bar closes as 8.30pm. Constantly asked for it to be turned down or better, off but always crept up again!
Never anyone on reception, had to ask a guest also wandering around, on the night of our arrival, what to do etc!
Breakfasts not good either, exactly the same items every single day!! 1 roll,1 slice of processed ham,1 Dairylea Processed cheese triangle and tiny pots of jam and honey, boring to the enth degree,no cooked breakfast on offer at all.We know Greece well as have stayed many times but this was the worst breakfast we have had.
Lunches were very good though,we didn't eat evenings here as preferred Tavernas for atmosphere, but to come back at 9.30 pm every night to find bar closed.....very poor!!!
Even guests have to pay for hotel loungers on the beach,5E per session.
Such a shame so much potential to be better,as with a better managment team(they were friendly staff but said they couldnt afford to pay for more) and better personal hotel service,we would return.

We stayed at the ionikos early July this hotel is in a fantastic location right on the beach and its the best section of the beach too.
The hotel grounds and pool area are very well maintained and much more 3star standard. The rooms are very basic with small bathroom but for what we paid no complaints as it was always clean. The staff in the hotel are both friendly and helpful.

Kefalos is a lovely resort with lots of nice restaurants, we loved Argo for Greek food and the Aussie BBQ is great for steak.

All in all great holiday in nice hotel.

We didn't stay at this hotel so I can not comment on the quality of the rooms.

We were staying at a different hotel that didn't have enough sunbeds so we were heading for the beach when we saw a sign for the Ionikos Hotel that allowed the public free use of their pool. As this hotel is right on the beach most of the guests head there to sun bathe so the pool stays very quiet most of the time.

We were made to feel very welcome by the family who run this hotel even though we weren't paying guests, especially Christa who'll take your food and drink order at the pool bar/restaurant and make you feel very welcome. We had lots of fun with her and looked forward to seeing her every day. She works very hard in the heat and is an asset to the hotel.

There are lots of cold drinks available, a wide menu with reasonably priced food prepared by an excellent chef. I can recommend the Pils beer and pork slouvaki.

If we go back to Kefalso we'll be booking into the Ionikos Hotel.

We were recommended to go to Ionikos from our friends and we were not disapointed, we had a wonderfull stay there! Family and other staff what are running this hostel are just fantastic - always caring about you, never tired of their job (they actually look like they never sleep or relax!!!), they were so nice and smiling all the time. The food was fantastic (we loved their greek salad, papoutsaki and gemista) although the breakfast is really really simple but we did not mind to buy our own yogurt/cheese/vegetable/fruit for breakfast in a localshop about 2 min away. Whole hotel area is maintained very well - clean pool area, beatiful garden, clean and simple rooms and bathrooms (they clean your room every single day!). Hotel is practically on the beach that is sandy and one of the most beatiful in Kos. Definitely recomended!!!!

Well first day of our two week stay and we were lured in by the sign public pool. What it should say is public pool if you spend money and want to be sneered at by the rude woman who works behind the pool bar.
No loo roll in the toilets, no hand towels, watered down soap. Food, not great, asked for hot coffee, was given cold.
Well, to sum up, they've just missed out on two weeks of our wanting to come back and enjoy their hospitality, as I didn't enjoy the hostility and flat out insincerity. Pool was quite small too.

Returned yesteday, spent 10 days there.
Perfect place for great holidays.Totally silent place, near the beautiful Castri island, ruins of the old Basilica of St.Stephen and wonderful beach in 20 metres
Friendly staff makes good atmosphere. The biggest part of guests– 40+ Czechs.
Normal breakfast, and there are many good tavernas around the hotel.
The strange thing–there are no TV in hotel rooms, but, I think,it's made specially for the guests silence, and You can watch it in every taverna or in hotels lobby.
Don't leave the balcony door open at night – the hordes of cruel mosquitos wait for it!
Think,will return there...

We have just come back from a weeks holiday staying at the Ionikos Hotel
It is a lovely family run hotel where nothing is too much trouble
The hotel is clean and comfy situated on the beach front and about a 20min
walk into the harbour area.
You can walk either down the main road which has restaurants/shops and bars on either side
or along the beach where there are more restaurants.
The pool area has a bar and snack bar and the food is fantastic / really good
We would recommend this hotel and will definatly return ourselves

This is a lovely hotel, right on the beach and away from the main road unlike many of the other hotels. Our room was on the second floor and had excellent views across Kefalos Bay and of Kastri Island. The room/communal areas/swimming pool and gardens were well maintained and cleaned daily.
We had a problem with our air conditioning at the end of the stay and the owners (John & Chrissie) kindly let us stay in the room next door for one night which was much appreciated as it was so hot.
My husband wanted to visit Kos for the windsurfing and the hire centre is only a five minute walk along the beach. While we were there we also hired a quad bike for one day from ‘Manolis’ which is at the top of the road and explored the west coast of the Island.

I really wouldn't recommend this hotel. It's grubby and the family that owns it are rude. Celebrate at another beachfront hotel.
