This was an interesting room. It had a wonderful view of Lake Murten with big double windows. As the weather was warm, we were told to use the portable air conditioning. We turned it on and left for dinner. When we returned after dark, we found the room hotter than when we left. We discovered a large hose under the...

Decided to take a day trip from Neuchatel to Murten. After exploration of delightful town decided to have lunch in this hotels restaurant. The main meal was average. The dessert was a soggy apple tart with thick uncooked pastry. The worst thing was the rude waitress service. Such a shame as location is absolutely beautiful.

Good location on the Murten See, but only a few minutes walk (uphill) to the historic town centre. We arrived at 2pm on a sunny Saturday, there were no parking spaces in either of the 2 public car parks next to the hotel, so we had to use a different one further away, 5 minute walk, but as we were...

Right on the edge of lake Morat, you wake up to a wonderful view over a very quiet lake in the morning. Book a lake-side room. Our room had been renovated and freshly painted but there was a certain tiredness about the hotel in general. Friendly and helpful staff

Stayed for 3 nights for business. Room had 2 single beds not a double/queen. Very nice views out to the lake. Very clean and tidy room. What let it down was the shower over the bath was affected by the roofline and was so low I had to kneel to have a shower! Room price included a continental breakfast and...

Murten is a lovely little town, and this hotel is situated right at the waterfront harbor, with a big terrace for drinks and informal dining, overlooking the lake. I traveled alone and was grumpy when I arrived, due to my hiking plans not turning out. Several staff members were friendly and welcoming, in a relaxed approachable way, not in a...

We had a very enjoyable lunch at the restaurant Schiff. Very friendly staff, the tables are set with white cloths and napkins. The fish was fresh from the lake and prepared perfectly. Prices in line with the quality. It was probably not the best month to visit as we could not take advantage of their garden on the lake.

Staying one night following a family event, we enjoyed our stay in this historic city. The hotel with a large lawn / garden is next to the mostly sailboat harbor with wide views over the lake and on a clear day into the Jura region. This is a typical small Swiss hotel/restaurant combination. Our room was on the top floor,...

As was hoped for this was traditional (horse hair matresses, plump duvets and a roof top room with a view of the lake). great food in the Lord Nelson restaurant with a good selection of local wines and fish from the lake (maybe?). It hit the spot and ticked all the boxes for what were looking for.

I think this is the best hotel in Murten. For me, has been a great experience, I have traveled to Switzerland in February 2008. The town is very small and there are not many activities to do after 20:00 pm, this is a matter in which the hotel could work, by offering more options after this hour. The breakfast is...
