We had a wonderful week at Casa Ombuto my son and I. Everything , from the smallest detail, are designed for us to rest and cook, in a charming environment. Paula takes all the stars!! He has taught us to cook Italian food making it easy and very showy which for me was difficult. With his charming and loving character. All the staff have continuously attended us, making us feel part of this project, comfortable, happy, proud of our dishes! The.walks included in the package are beautiful and very well thought out, from the walks with Paolo and Nico, to the visits to the very old winery and the farm of the charming Aurora. The coexistence with the members of the group (there were six of us) was extremely pleasant all week. Thank you very much to everyone, to Paola mainly, and then to Andy , Manuela, Marta, Monica, Hino (I miss any), for making this an unforgettable experience!

My family’s 3 adult couples spent a week at Casa Ombuto’s private villa. While we were worked hard in the kitchen we were pampered throughout the week with every need catered to by the staff and Chef Alice!

Mornings we were on our own to relax or tour the countryside. After lunch we cooked from 3-6/7 when regrouped for dinner @ 8. Weather permitting we ate al fresco to enjoy the sunset and stars. Dinner’s were generally 3-4 courses with wines freely flowing while the candles and fireplace glowed. Dinner was followed by coffee, digestifs and aperitifs.

Our menus were varied but not overly complicated with the group learning new skills and techniques under Chef Alice’s watchful eyes. The staff was a joy to work with and made sure mis en plas was ready and clean up a breeze.

The accommodations were 1st class. The villa has 4 suites on the second floor each with bathrooms.

Be prepared for an experience like no other. This was clearly the most relaxing vacations I have experienced!

Wow! This holiday exceeded all expectations. Even the weather was kind to us. We went to Casa Ombuto in May, having had to postpone 5 times (gotta love Covid) but it was certainly worth waiting for. And thank you for letting us postpone. Upon arrival we were amazed by the venue, beautiful, discreet, quiet and just gorgeous. The lovely Allyson greeted us, offered us a glass of wine and then gave us a tour. What’s not to love? All the bedrooms were ideal, there were amenities we didn’t even think to use, and everything else we needed or could imagine. As the week unfolded we had lots to do and time todo nothing but chill and sit by the pool (thank you weather gods!). Barbara, the tiny but mighty masseuse, was available and brilliant, a couple of times a week. Cook Paola was great, knew how to manage us, who to pair with whom and what to adapt and alter. We were sent to our rooms after cooking all afternoon at about 7pm each night, only to return at 8 for dinner to see that everything had been finished off, the table laid and the washing up done. The kitchen fairies were the icing on the cake - if only I could get those on Amazon! Owners Lars and were the most gracious and generous hosts, they were there sometimes, welcoming informative, interesting and engaging, and other times were in the background, smiling and supporting. Thanks to everyone who made this such a wonderful, wonderful, wonderful week.

Casa Ombuto is an idyllic place deep in the countryside of Tuscany, where passionate dreams have become reality; where your senses of sight, taste, and smell will be stirred in new ways, changing forever the way you look at food. You’ll be pampered by a staff where excellence is their goal, amidst the rolling hills, with excursions tucked between an all inclusive cooking plan. Paola, a chef par excellence, cared for us as she did her food. The owner and all of his staff were available to make our trip the best it could be. The experience was truly unforgettable!
Expect your life to be changed and you to change your life at Casa Ombuto! Give yourself the gift of a Tuscookany cooking school!

I’m just back from a wonderful week at Casa Ombuto! I can’t say enough good things about the attentive team and beautiful property. From the beginning stages of planning the through communications prepared me well for the experience. But nothing could have prepared me for the joy of the exuberant chef Paola Baccetti and her hard working kitchen team. Paola gives of herself and shares her generational cooking knowledge from a deeply authentic and truly caring heart. Paola is a true professional, passionate, creative and very funny woman. She brought life to my experience and I left energized to cook, live and love bigger. The food was amazing, the wine flowed, and the guests bonded over three beautifully executed meals a day! Thank you Casa Ombuto and Tuscookany team, you went above and beyond to create a fun and educational week. Don’t hesitate to book this experience you’ll be glad you did!

A while ago (2020) I was recommended Tuscookany by a proprietor of a favorite bed and breakfast in my home state of Montana. He spoke very highly of he and his daughter’s experience there. It became a dream of mine and I finally made the trip with my husband. Our time at Casa Ombuto, was truly inspiring; from the energy of the hardworking staff, to the gregarious and interesting participants from Ireland, Canada, Australia and USA. Our instructor, Paola continues to make herself available which is awesome and I am truly grateful for her fun and enthusiastic support. I can only highly recommend this as one of the best group experiences to be had. In addition, there was plenty of time to enjoy the spa facilities, take a walk or just read a book. If food and wine is your passion, you must not miss this opportunity to fulfill a dream of cooking in Tuscany, by adding Tuscookany to your bucket list.

Mum and I came to Ombuto as part of her 80th birthday celebrations and have chalked it up as one of our best holidays!
To start with, Paola, or chef and teacher for the week, is everything you could want as a teacher- she’s warm. Friendly, personable and fun but not-oh-boy, there’s no slacking off as far as cooking goes!
She has so many tips about ingredients, how to source fresh and local
She’s an absolute gem and the Casa Ombuto experience is richer for her experience in the cooking.
And as if this wasn’t enough, Alec and Lena who oversee the villas are an absolutely delightful couple who keep everything running smoothly with wonderful humour and conviviality of a couple who love other people enjoying the places they manage.
The rest of the team who seamlessly work to ensure that breakfast is cooked, your rooms are tidied, the hot tub is heated, the whims of every guest are met are also a credit to the Tuscookany business!
It was worth every Euro cent and I would return in a heartbeat

A week of cooking at Casa Ombuto is everything you could hope to expect, and more. Under the expert guidance of world class chef Paola Baccetti, accompanied by her skilled support staff, even the most novice chef gains culinary confidence making a variety of dishes from scratch through to full course dinners expected at a five star restaurant.
All in the setting of a beautifully updated Tuscan villa, the outside world and it’s worries evaporate for the week, being replaced by newfound friends with whom are made memories that will last a lifetime. The non cooking culinary excursion day completes the immersive experience. Claudia, the guest concierge and coordinator of all things practical, serves as a wealth of information while dealing with every guest’s needs and requests. She is a true delight to know. It was a pleasure to meet the owners, who greet each guest as a long time friend. Many guests have or will return for a “refresher”. This was my wife and my fifth time at Tuscookany (third at Ombuto). This itself makes testament to our feeling of the experience. The time spent here will certainly become part of the fabric of your travel memories

My first visit to Italy, and wow, far too much to see and do. Casa Ombuto is really outstanding. Cooking classes with Paola were wonderful for both experienced cooks and beginners, Paola is a force of nature and a really amazing teacher. The staff of Ombuto really goes above and beyond to make sure your experience is five-star. The lodgings were rustic yet still a destination experience, I mean...wood-fired hot tub, pool with an unbeatable view, sauna, steam, massage...amazing food and wine, mind-blowing scenery and on and on. Really wonderful, from beginning to end. An unbeatable experience, even during a difficult time.

Driving down the long track and then it opens out as Casa Ombuto reveals itself!
What a journey! Stunning location with luxury, beautiful surroundings and the most amazing people.

Chef Paolo kept our boisterous group under firm but loving control and I think we were all surprised at what we created. The range of dishes we cooked was far more than just pasta and tiramisu- even though we did cook those as well! Palio’s love of Tuscan ingredients and skill in the kitchen made her a delight to learn from - even though she was able to be tough when she needed to!

Every day was a delight as our kitchen skills Increased and we learnt so much. I would highly recommend this wonderful experience and I fully intend to return - maybe a few times!

The excursions to the vineyard, the farm and the olive oil producers were excellent and the pool, in the July heat of Tuscany were much appreciated.

The women who worked in the kitchen supporting Paolo and all of us were amazing and even the gardener worked hard to make everything in the garden perfect. Thanks Lars and Pippa for creating such a gorgeous space that anyone who experiences it is changed by.

What a week! Stunning!

HI Pinknose, I travelled alone to Casa Ombuto by train. Staff will meet you in Poppi at the train station and transport you to the Villa. Others attending the school had a car and on our free day we carpooled into town or Florence. For the excursions the Villa provided transportation.
