The agriturismo Poggio a Poppi was established by successfully restoring an ancient stone-built manor house. It is located in the green valley of Casentino and enjoys a fantastic panorama of Poppi and Bibbiena. Guests can choose between double rooms and apartments, all of them individually designed and tastefully furnished with typical Tuscan style interior. All of the rooms and apartments come with their own individually designed en-suite bathrooms. From where we are located, guests can make excursions by bike or by foot, visit nearby villages, participate various courses including cooking, painting, yoga and meditation. The agriturismo Poggio a Poppi is also a perfect starting point to visit the main historic towns of Tuscany and Umbria: Florence, Arezzo, Siena, Cortona, Perugia.

I had never heard of Poppi!! 4 of us were invited to a wedding for Australian friends. My daughter inlaw found Poggio a Poppi with her research, it looked nice and reasonably priced so we booked 2 rooms. This property is amazing!!!!! I only wish we had stayed longer!! The young lady 'Bear' was extremely welcoming and efficient. The villa is decorated beautifully to Tuscan flavour and has obviously been recently renovated to high quality. Our two massive bedrooms had large ensuites, very comfortable beds, views to Poppi, lovely Italian furniture, even under floor heating. The grounds are well manicured and there are views in every direction, the pool area is beautifully set up for sun and relaxing and they have a pizza oven and patio. The estate has a wonderful rural feel with national parks and forests on one side and farmland on the other, you can hear the farm animals as you observe the rolling Tuscan hills. The breakfast was amazing!! We were there at the low season and along with us 4 there was only 1 other couple staying, nothing was held back from us, the breakfast buffet was full and the attention to detail throughout our stay was very much appreciated. It was a stay we will remember for ever. Our son and his wife came from London and my husband and I came from Melbourne, Australia....Now we know where Poppi is, thank you!!

My wife, daughter and I have been at Poggio a Poppi on the last days of August 2017. We found it a lovely place to unwind, strategically located within the Casentino area and nearby the best looking village of the area, Poppi. From the estate there are great views of the area, including Poppi and its beautiful castle. Very good food quality (a pity we could not have dinner there for a couple of nights as the restaurant closed for dinner), nice room decoration and large pool available. We stayed in a room but saw that spaceous apartments are available and the next time may opt for one of them. No real defects, except for minor details that for some travellers may be important, such as AC missing (summer was rather wet and hot in Italy) and lack of wifi in the rooms (I did not care, I was on semi-holiday but had to do a conf call on my hotspot).

Visited with family in July, a great little find with lovely hosts, you can drive there and just spend your time relaxing by the pool of its hot or if you get the energy the hosts have a wealth of knowledge about the surrounding areas. Good for a quiet getaway if you want to be in nature and away from busy towns.

Poggio a Poppi must be one of the nicest places to stay in the Casentino with its beautiful views over the hills and the old walled town of Poppi a few kilometres away. The lovely old stone building has well appointed en suite bedrooms and from the dining area, where one experiences the delights of Beatrice’s culinary skills, there is a view of Poppi on the hill. One could not wish for a better way to end the day than relaxing and enjoying a good meal watching the changing colours of the landscape as sun sets. Beatrice and Marco are charming warm hosts who ensure one has a comfortable enjoyable stay. They both made a great effort to make me feel welcome and to accommodate my dilatory needs which I very much appreciated. I hope that I shall have the opportunity to revisit when the weather is kinder and I can relax next to the pool and look forward to a great dinner.

The hotel is very well located, only a few minutes by car away from Poppi. Service from the young couple running the hotel is very kind. We were located in the 'Abelardo and Eloisa' room. The room was big, super clean and nice. The bathroom was huge! All very well taken care of. The swimming pool area is also nice, and has a ping pong table and foosball table. Breakfast was not amazing, but I think it is something across Italy. We stayed in luxury hotels as well and breakfast was not great either. I would highly recommend this place!
