Made very welcome. Clean and comfortable. The breakfast provided a good number of options from cereals to toast/jams and cooked. We did not use the outside facilities but the guest house provided a pool and Brasilia facilities. We would like to have seen a taller wardrobe facility in our room. Other than that- very good
A very comfortable and homely establishment with genial and accomodating hosts. The only criticism is that the choice of channels available on TV is very poor and not up to the standard of the accomodation provided.
Really enjoyed the hospitality and atmosphere. Clean rooms and they offer a tasty breakfast. Not too far out of mid town but close enough if you might need anything. Each room has a really nice outside area and some with a view of the pool. Worth a visit
A well kept, well run establishment located in a great spot. The host made contact in the week before our reservation and we were met in a very welcoming way upon arrival. The premises are well kept, the house is situated in a beautiful, quiet neighourhood. The only constructive criticism I can offer is that a hot water bottle or electric blanket would have been a small gesture in middle winter. The airconditioner helped, but nothing beats a comfy, warm bed.
Everything was perfect, the owners friendly, so as to make me feel absolutely at home there. Booking in on arrival was so easy and as the safety of my car is very important to me, I was very surprised to find secure parking behind a remote-controlled gate. The room itself - everything you need, comfortable bed, writing table, television facilities and a lovely homely bathroom. Lovely outside facilities.
We were met by the owner and he was so helpful and very friendly! He made us feel right at home! The room was very clean and everything we needed was there! They allowed us an earlier check-in to get ready for our wedding that started at 2 pm.
Super friendly and accomodating host. Lovely swimming pool. Very neat and clean with everything you need. The woodpecker in the Old Oak tree was an unexpected added bonus. Thank you for the pleasant stay. Highly recommended.
On the spur of the moment we decided to spend the night in Riebeek Valley and met the owner, Koen van de Velde of Church Hills Boutique Accommodation where we spent the night. Beautiful rooms with a pool, braai facilities and absolute silence at night! A breakfast ended a lovely stay! Can recommend this establishment wholeheartedly and we will be back! Thanks, Koen and Veronique for your kind hospitality at short notice!
Koen and Vero are excellent hosts. We stayed there with our two teenage sons and they made us very welcome. Very friendly and nice personal touches and they are very knowledgeable on the surrounding area. Will definitely be back.
I spent 10 nights at Church Hills with my sister as we were visiting our dad who lives in Riebeek West for his 90th birthday. I had a pool side Superior Room and it was the best room in the house! It was spacious, bright and beautifully decorated and had a large walk-in shower room. The bed was extremely comfortable, there was a fridge with water, milk, and a few beers and cans of soft drinks, ample storage space and a tray with a kettle, cups, tea, coffee, etc. The room opened up on to a balcony with a table and 2 chairs, which was shaded by trees and a grape vine growing overhead, a necessity in the afternoon heat. The pool was lovely and a godsend in the hot weather we had during our stay. Not too deep but clean, welcoming and pretty, just right to cool off in. It was also lit up a night which looked lovely There was a newly built braai which we used to cook for my dad and stepmum who came over one afternoon. Koen very kindly let us use plates and cutlery from the kitchen. The gardens were beautifully kept and had a lovely assortment of trees and shrubs. The breakfasts were fab. Plenty of choice of fresh fruit salad, cereals, yoghout, and a cooked option of bacon and eggs, all beautifully cooked by Veronique. Both Koen and Veronique were some of the nicest people I’ve met and couldn’t do enough to make sure you had a great holiday. I think it was the best guest house I’ve ever stayed at and believe me Ive stayed in plenty. It’s my number one choice now whenever I go back to Riebeek West.…
