My boyfriend and I visited The Wheatsheaf for dinner to celebrate my Birthday, we live around a 40 minute drive away from it but it was definitely worth the effort and I would go back again and again! The food was sublime - in my opinion on a par with The Michelin starred Pony & Trap in Chew Magna. The...

stayed here for one night on our way to devon and were pleasantly surprised to find a fabulous meun and wine list and a brilliant matire 'd who caught all the fish himself that morning! Lovley little atmosphere in the pub , very cosy, obviously huge loyal local following,we will definitely make a detour again to re visit. The rooms...

The Wheatsheaf feels in the middle of nowhere, despite being 5 miles from Bath. We were greeted with homemade biscuits and a Cafetiere with freshly ground coffee. The food in the restaurant was delicious, the roaring fire was a perfect accompaniment to coffee and the next day's breakfast was great. I would recommend The Wheatsheaf to everyone - couples and...

We went for a meal having not visited since the new ownership and were very impressed with the standard of food. Both our meals were delicious & the bread was to die for. The setting is simply beautiful and the gardens and interior are well cared for and beautifully done. Our only tiny gripe was the service was very slow...

We stayed here for 2 nights in March, when in the area for a family wedding. Recommended by the brides family, who we're staying here the night before the wedding. We arrived on the day in bright sunshine - always helps!! - and just thought what a beautiful setting it is. We only really had a glimpse of the rooms...

The best night out in Bath. We have been in Bath a few times, visited many restaurantes. This will top our list. Nice ambience and the atmosphere was as good it can get, and the food outstanding. I started withe scallops with lemongrass sauce, only complaint I would have liked the scallops a bit bigger. My wife had calamares and she...

My wife and I booked this as an anniversary getaway weekend (child and dog off to friends). Quite taken with the location - low down in a sleepy hollow in Somerset and only about 15 mins from the city centre. Ideal for the shopping commute but still a feeling of perfect isolation. Despite being up to their eyeballs in a...

An absolutely enjoyable weekend away. Close to Bath, quiet location, nicely decorated rooms, comfortable rooms with very comfortable mattress and duvet. Both breakfast and dinner were nicely presented. Dinner party menu was superb with pretty plating for each of the dishes and high level of service. We were pleasantly surprised by the final bill for the weekend- excellent value for...

I took my 83yr old mother there for a mid week lunch. The staff were very friendly and the ambience superb. However, my mothers appetite wasn't satisfied and it's small at the best of times. I wouldn't have minded so much if it hadn't been so expensive, we weren't looking for cheap and cheerful, we were expecting a higher price...

Can only say positive things about this place. Beautiful location, dog friendly, very friendly staff - and although it was a very busy Sunday lunchtime, the service was excellent. Sunday lunch was superb - a real visual delight, and beautiful to eat. Quality. Booking is essential for a Sunday. And the ladies loos are a treat!
