As everything in our budget range was occupied we landed at Kariori lodge after a long drive. Beside we stayed with a guy snoring the whole night without a break, I couldn’t sleep as the bed was so soft and worn out, turning without waking up - impossible! And there was sand and a chewing gum in my linen. Just...

Such a delight of an experience here at the lodge, only wish I could have stayed longer. Felt like I was retreating into the quiet comfort of nature but with the buzzing atmosphere of welcoming staff and travelers who were all eager to share their little slice of heaven with you. Lodge is well-equipped with nice kitchen facilities, super fast...

Went to Tourist information for a campsite for my campervan and they told me about this place at $15 for the night and phoned to confirm availability. Sounded really good so went there and told the receptionist that I had enquiries via tourist office. She said she had a place but that price was $18. Bit miffed, paid up and...

Thank you for the input and your visit! We will look into providing a more detailed map of the property for our guests. Also, do you remember which tourist information center (i-site/happy travels) provided you with the pricing so that we can make sure that they have the correct information?

Stayed here back in May 2013 and absolutely loved it. Feels like a rainforest retreat and has all the amenities needed for staying in camper can or staying in the dorm. Make sure to book early for sites because they tend to fill up fast! Just recently came back to Raglan and visited the lodge to walk their Karioi trail

Karioi lodge is a quaint hostel. The rooms and bathrooms are clean and beds comfy. The kitchen is big with plenty of utensils, pots, pans and cutlery and enough prep space so many people in the kitchen doesn't make you feel claustrophobic. The living area attached to the kitchen is the most homely part. The old couches and arm chairs...

We have been working here for a month. The team is very kind and it is probably the best place to lern surfing!! It's a bit away from town but there is a shuttle that goes into town. The town is lovely try the fish and chips and the sushi <3

Great location and brilliant views over the sea. Mattresses were not comfortable though so I had quite a restless night. Staff are all very friendly. There is also a great look out space to watch the sun set and glow worms that are visible at night.

Lovely little hide away retreat. A great little gem for any backpacker. Awesome place to chill out or learn to surf with one of their awesome surf packages. Raglan itself is a charming town with no end of funky surf shops and interesting thrift stores to find something unique.

This place has lots of room and authentic charm. The kitchen is totally equipped with everything you could ask for and the whole place was spotlessly clean. The vibe is very "island style" with lots of vegetation and privacy and yet only a short ride to town. The owners are very nice, friendly, approachable and knowledgeable, especially about surfing. We...
