We spent three nights at Green Hope Lodge and found it to be an exceptional stay from beginning to end. Prior to our arrival, the helpful staff answered all our questions and assisted with booking our tours in Cát Tiên National Park. The warm reception we received upon check-in immediately set a relaxing tone for our visit. Nestled beside the river and offering sweeping views of the lush national park across the water, the lodge has a rustic charm. The property is feels a secluded haven removed from the main road by a long driveway. One of our great moments was waking up early to the sounds of gibbons calling in the distance. The riverside pavilions also provide cozy spots to unwind in the shade.

Our 4-person room featured a lovely river view and a large balcony that matched the photos on the website. We appreciated the comfortable beds and modern en-suite bathroom. Although we requested a follow-up cleaning of the bathroom, the staff quickly addressed it, and a simple checklist could help prevent future oversights.

Throughout our stay, the staff went above and beyond—from arranging tours and transportation to delivering park breakfasts. When our next ride fell through unexpectedly, they quickly arranged a replacement driver.
We enjoyed both breakfast and dinner at the lodge, plus a packed lunch during our excursions. Breakfast choices included baguette and eggs or pancakes, which we paired with a fresh mango smoothie (at additional cost.) Dinner was delicious, with a variety of rice and noodle dishes; the stir-fry fish with steamed rice and green pepper was particularly flavorful.

We took two tours—the Crocodile Lake hike and an early morning Gibbon Tour—both of which were unforgettable. We also visited the Ta Lai Cocoa Farm in the afternoon, a real treat for chocolate enthusiasts.

In addition to comfort and convenience, we admired the lodge’s commitment to eco-friendly practices. They utilize solar power and solar-heated water, recycle plastic, and actively support responsible tourism by partnering with the national park and a nearby animal rescue center. Overall, the lodge maintains a welcoming, family-friendly vibe that’s perfect for recharging after a day of adventure.

We highly recommend Green Hope Lodge to anyone seeking a peaceful, inviting base to discover Cát Tiên National Park.

The lodge has standalone wooden huts and we chose one accessible by a flight of stairs. The room was spacious with 2 double beds with mosquito nets and an attached bathroom. The room was clean and the usual amenities. It is not Marriott or Hilton but it is very budget friendly with hammocks in the gazebos overlooking the river. The owner planted a lot of trees so you wake up with the lovely sounds of birdsong and the loud calls of the gibbons from the Cat Tien National Park. Luan speaks good English and was helpful with making all arrangements for tours and airport transfer. I conferred with him before the booking via WhatsApp and was very reassured by his responsiveness and knowledge of the place.

The soft-spoken Luan and his parents run the place with a couple of staff for housekeeping and preparing meals for guests. The meals are simple and filling Vietnamese/Chinese food. They also have homemade pineapple and ginger beers which were delicious especially after a long hot day at the park.

The lodge is about 10 minutes walk from the Cat Tien National Park. Cat Tien Lodge is simple, budget friendly and highly recommended for travellers to that part of Vietnam.

We spent three wonderful days in Green hope lodge. The room was large and nice. The family was very professional and helpful, for example to organise a tour or reservate a bus ticket. The food was delicious: try sweet potato french fries.

And the location was perfect to explore the park.

Our family stayed for 2 nights in the stilt house. It was clean and comfortable and you definitely felt you were amongst nature. It was nice having the fan, air con and mosquito nets. The jungle and wilderness is all around and you quickly understand why 6am is a reasonable time to start the day - it's when all the animals wake up!

Luan and his family were extremely laid back, have excellent English and were friendly and always available to answer any questions we had. The Green Hope is just ten minutes stroll from the 1 minute ferry ride across the river (appears to be manned from dawn to dusk).

The breakfast set us up for the day and our kids loved the pancakes. The dinners were very reasonably priced, simple and filling dishes. In fact, all the prices were very reasonable across the board, especially considering how isolated the location is.

As a remote location it's really important to state that the friendliness and helpfulness of the family stand far higher than the nice setting and the good facilities. The Green Hope is a lovely place to stay and we'd highly recommend.

We had a small house overlooking the river that forms the border with the national park. There are several terraces on the river with hammocks and chairs, all equipped with a shelter against the sun, but also useful when it rains, and a fan. But usually there is a lovely breeze. Those hammocks are the place to be to completely relax, wonderful. What's also great here are the meals. Lunch and dinner always consisted of 4 parts, but we did not have any duplicates during all those days. They also make their own ginger and pineapple beer, which is definitely recommended. The hotel is not far from the ferry to the park, and they will also take you there on the back of a motorcycle for excursions and tours through the park. They also book excursions for you, and then deliver you to the right guide across the street. All in all very caring but above all very friendly staff. We thought it was a wonderful place, and I was a bit jealous when it turned out that one of the other guests came every year for a month. That seems like the perfect relaxation to me.

The accommodation was fairly basic and comfortable. It's located next to the river and has some great locations to relax. The food was tasty and good value. There were local homemade drinks such as pineapple beer, which were also delicious.

Luan and his family were very friendly and organised tours for us in the park and made recommendations for an itinerary and walks. He was also able to organise transport from Dalat and to HCMC which made our trip much more convenient. Luan's English was excellent and he had a good sense of humour.

Overall I'd highly recommend if you're thinking of going to Cat Tien. It was much better value for money than an organised tour and is a great place to stay and enjoy the park.

We decided to stay at Green Hope Lodge while visiting Cat Tien National Park and it was a mistake! While still approaching the National Park, our driver asked why we chose Green Hope Lodge, since he had heard a lot of negative things about this place.
Arriving at the place, we found that there was practically no staff there. After some time, we were finally given a key and explained how to find the room. No one helped us find our room, much less with our luggage.
The room is located on the 1st floor of a two-story wooden building. There is a musty smell all around. The air conditioner works very poorly, most likely it just ran out of gas.
Dinner is a set of incomprehensible content. Drinks include sovt drinks, beer and water.
So we spent the night with the children in a hot room.
And we decided that we would definitely not stay here the second night.
After visiting the National Park early in the morning, we had breakfast on the park grounds rather than at the Green Hope Lodge and stopped at the Lodge only to pick up our belongings.
Complete lack of service and any conditions! I do not advise anyone to stay in this place, especially with children!

Response from Luân Phạm Đắc, Đại lý / Tư vấn at Green Hope Lodge

Hi Vladimirm Thank you for writing a review for us. I am sorry that your stay did not meet your expectations. As I recall, are you the family with two boys booked for two nights, then do the gibbon trek stay one night, and go directly to Da Lat? When you arrive, you come with a tour guide and a driver I was not there, so my dad gave the key to the guide and then showed to the room, probably the guide expected that this is the job of the hotel, not his job and he is right ( my dad does not speak any English so he hopes that the guide helps him) I am sorry for that. the room is located on the second floor with a river view and a balcony it was made of wood so it rarely has a bad smell, I think the smell you got comes from the rotten Jack fruit as you took the picture. For the airconditioner I think you did not turn on the right mode, therefore, it was not cold enough, and the food issue... the second day I came to work you were checking out so there is no chance of fixing the problem, the whole problem came from the lack of communication. it is a big lesson for my family. my apologies for handling this unprofessionally, hope you enjoy the rest of your trip Best Regard, Luan

Lovely atmosphere at lodge - friendly and relaxed and would recommend for solo travellers as well as couple/friends.

Luan and his team, especially Tan, were brilliant.
Communication via Whatsapp, responding quickly to questions and requests eg. Pick up from Saigon, arranging tours

Breakfast simple, but the pancakes are fresh and the coffee is strong. If you want to explore for dinner, there are a few restaurants/lodges within walking distance.

Really impressed by quality and value of tours. We did night safari, local village bike tour, and a dawn boat trip. The bike tour in particular was excellent, and a great way to see how people live in a rural area. Our guide had outstanding English, and demonstrated a clear love for his home, rather that just taking us to go buy things from his friends stalls (which can be my experience with these sort of local tours).

Boat tour also stunning, with the guide being able to spot a bird or monkey from miles away! It’s a great way to explore the reserve. We also borrowed the Lodge bikes for an afternoon to visit the Crocodile Lake - a great mini adventure on good quality bikes.

Luan was really helpful in arranging all tours, including being flexible on time to accommodate our travel arrangements.

Anywhere you stay in Cat Tien seems to be very cheap and very 'basic', and Green Hope is no exception;. You're not going to find a/c in many of the places here, but you get what you pay for! Also, being in the country, it does cool off at night, so a/c isn't absolutely necessary. I also stayed in 'Green Bamboo' Lodge so I can compare the two. First of all, Green Hope is in a less desirable location, about half a km from the river, and it is near a chicken farm so the roosters are very loud very early in the morning, which was an issue for me since I'm a light sleeper. The resort is family run, nice people but only the son speaks English. A nice guy, I thought he could be a bit friendlier, but that's just my opinion. The rooms in Green Hope were much larger than in Green Bamboo, it's a much smaller lodge in general though, so only one choice for dinner (though good and very reasonable price) and limited choice for breakfast. Apparently they can serve lunch but they don't have a menu so I didn't know. I recommend they post more information on local sites/etc and expand their service a bit. Nice to have a few more options for meals.

My adult son and I stayed at Green Hope Lodge May 14th-17th. Booking with Mr. Luan was very easy via Whattsapp. He secured a driver to meet us at HCMC airport. We arrived around 10pm on a Tuesday, had a relaxed morning (Wednesday) in Cat Tien National Park, a bicycle ride that afternoon, the Green Hill jungle tour on Thursday, Primate Center on Friday morning and then private taxi to the sleeper bus stop for an easy ride back to HCMC. The accommodations were rustic, adequate, food was simple and freshly prepared and the rates were reasonable for all. Highly recommended staying here.
