We went to the Sandy Beach Hotel & Resort for a 3 days break at the end of May. The pool area of the resort consists of a smaller pool (part of it shaded) where diving trainings take place, a brand new kids water park and a very spacious infinity pool which is amazing, with a lovely pool bar. The beach is really nice and clean, With plenty of water sports activities organised by the resort; it is also the perfect location for the snorkelling to Snoopy Island. Around the island there are several corals and loads of colourful fishes. It’s not the Maldives, but it’s good a Snorkelling. The accommodation - we were in a 2 bedroom bungalow - is rather basic and could do with some refurbishment, as it is quite dated. It was however spotless clean. The restaurant (Amouage) has an extensive menu offering several options in terms of food and drinks (alcohol available). It wasn’t cheap, but good quality. All personnel around the resort are super kind and helpful.

We wanted to visit snoopy Island and decided to have a beach day at sandy beach hotel. Day passes for the beach are 130aed which gives you access to changing rooms/toilets/pool/beach etc

Clean facilities, swim up pool bar, bar food is excellent and you get towels too.

The swim to Snoopy Island is not for the unexperienced, there are life guards and roped off areas for the swim there. We enjoyed snorkeling at the East end of the beach just in front of the padi diving school, the fish are making it their home and there's plenty to see.

Thoroughly enjoyed our day and will be back to visit.

The male receptionist was rude. I think the management needs to send him for therapeutic communication training on how to deal with people because the way he delivers his words are really negative. We were 2 families and booked 2 rooms. My sister in-law asked if our rooms could be near each other, the way he answered was quiet offended. He said that we have studio room and other was just a standard room so its not possible. Next one, he informed us that we exceeded in the number of pax who can stay in the room because we were 4 adults and asked us to go back in the reception. Ok I get it, they are so strict. We asked if we can just pay for 2 additional pax and ask for extra bed but he insisted us to book another room for 750aed again. So in total, we book 3 rooms already because the other 1 was were my sister in law and family stayed. He answered us in a very rude way and we felt degraded. Third strike was when I asked for 6 bottles of water. He said “You only book room 414 and 415 right? So only 4 bottles are allowed (again, in a very rude way). I was really shocked that I just answered “OH MY GOD”. And he said “Ok I will give you 5 + 1, happy?”. Is that what will we get for paying for 3 rooms worth 2000plus aed from you? 500ml of bottled water is worth 1aed and less and we will get that kind of treatment! I was not able to get his name but he is bald.

Location was like a gem. We enjoyed the waves, the sand was very fine, water was so clear, the slides in the kiddie pool are great and safe.

I stayed at Sandy Beach (room 209) with my friend on the 14th March & woke up in the middle of the night to find my bed crawling with Bed Bugs!! Some were huge! Two members of staff came to inspect the bed & confirmed they were bed bugs. All they offered was to change the sheets, when I refused to sleep in the bed they then offered to move us to another room. I asked to speak to a manager& was told there was no manager on site. How can there not be a manager available in such a huge resort?! I asked them to phone a manager & they refused. I was not prepared to sleep in the hotel & asked for a refund to which I was told no! The reason given was because I had already paid for the room & so couldn't have a refund?! Honestly the staff seemed so inexperienced and the way they dealt with the situation was utterly disgraceful. It was the middle of the night & we were obviously quite distraught yet they treated us as if we were the problem! I asked if they could help us to find another hotel nearby to which they also refused! We checked out at 2am and drove around trying to find a room in another affordable hotel. No one from Sandy Beach contacted me the next day to apologise, check if we were ok, offer a refund etc. I had to call THEM the next day to finally speak to a manager who was also unhelpful and seemed unapologetic. All I was told by him was to call Agoda (who I booked the room through) to get my refund.

It's the best place to do snorkeling in UAE. The water is clear and easily we can see several fish.
Regarding the hotel room my feedback is negative because the room is not comfortable. The room smells bad, there is humidity everywhere and a lot of bugs.
The staff is not enough and during lunch we repeated our order more than 4 times and it took so long.
I highly recommend the snorkeling but i am not happy with my stay in the hotel.

I highly encourage anyone planning to come to his hotel to strongly reconsider. Our short stay has been nothing but a deluge of uncomfortable experiences-experiences that actually could have been avoided had this hotel been under better management.

When we checked in there was a misunderstanding beecause we had an extra person. We weren't aware that this would cost us a whole 200 more, even though our package didn't include breakfast and we didn't require an extra bed. I was happy to work something out but the manager was totally rude. We finally settled after a horrid altercation with the manager, who was condescending and passive aggressive. We did so because I had an urgent business call and couldn't afford to spend more time negotiating.
After a long drive across the UAE that was the last thing we wanted.

I settled into our room to take the call, only to find that the wifi wasn't working at all. I had to cancel this urgent call, which was ultimately the only reason I chose to pay the amount they charged. Awful.

Finally, the policy of the room they gave us strictly stated 'no capacity for extra beds'. Ergo, since we were forced to pay for an extra bed, we should have been (by their own rules) moved to a bigger room. We were not. We had to fork out almost AED800 for one night in a cramped, tiny, ugly and old room. I could stay at a 5* hotel for that. The room condenses in the heat too so the walls and floor are wet. Disgusting

Don't come here!!! There are much better options nearby where the staff will be willing to treat you with some respect.

The property looks inviting on the website.

No doubt it’s a great place for outdoor enthusiasts, but the rooms are pretty much outdated.

Not a good idea to visit during summer. The floors/walls sweat when you open either the main door or slide the balcony door (picture attached). Which meant the AC and the humidifier had to be kept on for 24/7. However, this may not be the case during the cooler months.

Humidifiers stop every 7-8 hours and only start again when the water tray has been emptied. The beeping sound of the humidifier wakes you up from your sound sleep, and this routine of emptying the tray took place up to 4 times a day.

Room service is prompt but housekeeping needs improvement. Sheets didn’t look they were changed (the bed frame was pathetic), the framed pictures were mouldy, built-in cupboards/balcony chairs/tables were dusty when we checked in and the floor was slippery due to moisture buildup.

And worst of all, the complimentary breakfast was not included during our stay, because some booking websites do not include this is what we were advised on arriving for breakfast. The breakfast buffet is limited to continental cuisine. Felt as if AED. 800/- per day for a 4 star hotel was a ripoff.

So, if you are looking for a relaxed break with family and value for money, then you are barking up the wrong tree.

Prices can vary a lot depending on the demand but i would say a fair price for a double room would be around 400 AED. Book in advance or you might get stuck with prices beyond 1000 AED.

They have villas for groups, which is an excellent option for families or groups of friends.

Breakfast can be a bit disappointing but the snack food in the beach bar is generous, tasty and prices are decent.

I keep on coming to this place and I recommend it.

I returned to Sandy Beach hotel this week after previously visiting several years ago. The resort is charming and lacks the pretentious nature of many resorts in the UAE. I was really impressed with the beautiful new infinity pool complete with swim up bar and the addition of a new water play area for children.
The rooms, while very dated in style, were comfortable and spotlessly clean. It also seemed that some newer accommodation had been added and that further improvements would be coming in the future. We hired snorkelling gear and explored snoopy island- the real attraction of the resort. I would suggest bringing your own equipment if at all possible as it was very expensive to hire by the day.
The big let down at this resort is the food- the restaurant is tired and the quality of the food is poor. We tried pasta dishes and toasted sandwiches for lunch and were really disappointed. The pizzas were slightly better in the evening but certainly not up to standard for the price of the food and accommodation.
I would recommend the resort but choose a chalet with a bbq and bring your own food.

First time to stay in the resort, had a wonderful stay almost perfect until I was close to checking out. Special thanks to Chitu, done a great job helping out with chosing a room and making a reservation, helped out a lot upon checkin and during my stay with all my requests. Housekeeping Macky and his team are so friendly and helpful too. Puis at the pool bar doing such a fantastic job although the pressure and the extreme heat!! Kiran at the Ocean View Bar was outstanding! Not to forget the team at breakfast, sadly I forgot their names but I'd like to thank them for their patience and their genuine and excellent service.

Although the resort is small, we enjoyed it very much. The beach is great but the pool not that much. They do not have an adult pool, there is just a small one for adults and kids and it gets pretty crowded.

Now we wanted to extend our stay for one more night however despite our efforts unfortunately on this they've failed. They have guaranteed our room for someone else (regular guest they said) so in other words we were given the option to move to another room, different style we didn't like or check out. The reception supervisor Prodyut wasn't so helpful and couldn't find a reasonable solution so he decided that i'd rather check out or move than stay in the same room. We've decided to check out as we thought this have already ruined the whole experience, I know other establishments who would do anything to keep a guest from checking out. This one don't care all that much.
