Booked for Sunday lunch today and the food was first class. Well cooked and great vegetables. The owners made us feel very welcome. Thanks to the kitchen staff who cooked us a wonderful Sunday lunch. We will definitely be back - keep up the good work!

Called in for a late supper. Quite busy but plenty of room to relax. Limited menu and took some time for food to arrive but well presented and as described. Would describe The Shears as more of a pub/restaurant than a hotel. Can't provide any information on hotel facilities.

The Shears is a lovely inn, tucked away in Collingbourne Ducis between Marlborough and Salisbury. The owners, Sandra and Bertie, are wonderfully friendly and the atmosphere in The Shears is like that friendly local you've been dreaming of - at least it was for us when we arrived. We had dinner in the Shears from their menu of pub classics... More

Lovely place. Plenty of games to hand. Good beer. Good food. Sunday roast for two, rib-eye steak, burger for youngest and swordfish for Dad. Clean plates left by family of five. Desserts pretty scrumptious b Relaxed atmosphere. Reasonably priced. Will return soon.

Great garden with comfy seating, plenty of choice on the menu and the food was very good, the 'lady of the house' was warm and friendly. however the landlord was rather curt and quite offish ! we got the feeling you get the best service from him if you are part of the local click !!! bit disappointed really, probably... The Shears Inn is a real gem!! Beautiful garden in peaceful surroundings to relax in on a summer's evening, a lovely dining room and excellent food beautifully presented. Add to that top class friendly service for a totally enjoyable dining experience. Couldn't fault it! Will certainly go again and look forward to actually staying there next time.

Clean, comfortable, pleasant well equipped rooms. Staff are kind, helpful and genuinely caring. The restaurant is comfortable, atmospheric, and serves high quality, well presented meals. The hotel is "family and pet friendly". Throughly enjoyed our stay and looks forward to our next visit.

A friend took me for a surprise lunch. The menu was extensive and the food presented in a very attractive way. I chose lemon sole followed by Eaton mess ,both of which work extremely tasty. Overall a most enjoyable experience and one which I would repeat. The surroundings were relaxing and the staff helpful and attentive.

Shears Inn is located outside the village on a quiet cross roads. The room was spotless, the food excellent and the hospitality first class. We would thoroughly recommend this hotel to anybody seeking peace and quiet whilst not being far from a range of Wiltshire towns. Having stayed four nights and having brought guest for dinner on one of them... More

A perfect place, superb hospitality. Excellent food (on site restaurant, popular with locals), perfect location. Not only 'dog friendly' but 'dog welcome' (bowl of fresh, iced water brought out to us in the garden before we had chance to ask!) We'll certainly be back!
