Clean, comfortable, pleasant well equipped rooms. Staff are kind, helpful and genuinely caring. The restaurant is comfortable, atmospheric, and serves high quality, well presented meals. The hotel is "family and pet friendly". Throughly enjoyed our stay and looks forward to our next visit.

A friend took me for a surprise lunch. The menu was extensive and the food presented in a very attractive way. I chose lemon sole followed by Eaton mess ,both of which work extremely tasty. Overall a most enjoyable experience and one which I would repeat. The surroundings were relaxing and the staff helpful and attentive.

Shears Inn is located outside the village on a quiet cross roads. The room was spotless, the food excellent and the hospitality first class. We would thoroughly recommend this hotel to anybody seeking peace and quiet whilst not being far from a range of Wiltshire towns. Having stayed four nights and having brought guest for dinner on one of them... More

A perfect place, superb hospitality. Excellent food (on site restaurant, popular with locals), perfect location. Not only 'dog friendly' but 'dog welcome' (bowl of fresh, iced water brought out to us in the garden before we had chance to ask!) We'll certainly be back!

Stayed with the family last night as attending a local party and what a great find . A beautiful country pub and hotel with comfy beds and clean rooms . Wish the party had started later as Venison sausages were on the menu !! Would stay again....

Fresh seasonal food simply cooked and served. Delicious flavours good sized portions and a good choice of fresh fish. Can't wait to go back. Children well catered for and welcomed. Nice selection of good wines.

A lovely old fashioned thatched pub out in the Wiltshire countryside. The rooms were quite basic but clean and serviceable and comfortable although the walls were wafer thin. This is not a fancy hotel, merely a pub that does B&B. The breakfast, which had to be ordered the previous night, was very good. We had dinner in the evening and... More

Good menu, great food, great service in a smart country pub in a lovely location. Good selection of real ales. We were very well looked after by friendly staff in a relaxed atmosphere. Recommended for all occasions.

We stayed at the Shears for two nights and had a lovely, relaxing time. The breakfast was the best I have eaten in a B&B and there is something to please everyone on the extensive lunch/dinner menu. We will definitely stay again. Thank you, Bertie and Sandra, for a wonderful weekend!

We visited The Shears Inn for the first time in years and what a surprise. The Inn now combines an cosy country pub with an attractive country dining area. The new owners have created a good menu at reasonable prices. The service and presentation of the food is very good. We thoroughly enjoyed lunch and we hope to return to... More
