We spent two nights in this paradise. It is a kind of small castle in a beautiful vineyards property. The room was incredibly romantic with an amazing view. The spa is located just in the vineyards with also this amazing view. Service and massages were just perfect. We had also dinner in the hotel restaurant: a great choice of modern Portuguese kitchen with tasty local wines. Great people in the restaurant also ! We enjoyed the tasty breakfast on the terrace Great memories there !
Everything is refined and thought for you to enjoy a peaceful stay. Facilities immergerd in somptuous vineyards, are very comfortable with nice rooms, the pool is large and clean, the spa offers nice massages and the food is delicious. Personnel is very attentive and discrete and make you feel home.
Beautifully restored property with a real sense of local history. We felt comfortable and relaxed very quickly. The hotel is well situated for touring the area, visiting Braga, Guimarães etc. Recommend the Camelia Suites for space and comfort. We very much enjoyed the food and wine - congrats to the team who prepare and serve - all top and very knowledgable and helpful. The spa and treatments are lovely too. It would be nice to add a little gym to the property 😊 All of the team were kind, helpful and professional. Great short break -thank you 👍
Great space to enjoy with the family. Quality installations with an interesting design and very attentive staff. Well staffed, they offered professional and personalized service, they knew what we needed from the start, offering services without being pushy, you will always find some to help. -> something we could learn from in most Spanish Hotels. The place is only 15 min from Braga and about another 15 from Guimaraes, both great places to visit in Portugal. But most of the time we choose to enjoy the hotel restaurant, bar, summing pool, wine selection King size bed, etc. Will definitely come back.
Torre de Gomariz was ultimately a very disappointing and underwhelming experience. I booked my trip directly online, on their website, after several attempts at reaching them over the phone (they are woefully under-staffed, so getting in touch with them can be tricky). Despite specifically booking an upstairs bedroom, for some reason they decided to put me on one of the downstairs ones, with no privacy whatsoever - the only solution was to constantly keep the curtains closed, even during the day, which made the room look like a bunker. The spa was not a particularly pleasant experience - the tiles in the indoor pool have a weird feeling on your wet feet, and the "hot" tub was lukewarm at best, but worst of all is the masseuses, who were unable to follow simple directions even in Portuguese. The outdoor pool can be very relaxing, when there aren't guests flying drones and capturing images over it (yes, that was a thing that happened while I was there). The wine tasting, though, is something you should definitely find a way to pass on - the hotel produces four different wines at the property, who cover the spectrum from the mediocre to the truly terrible, and the cost of a wine tasting for two people is more than buying one bottle of each of the wines (let's just say they know how bad their wines are, and price the bottles in the retail shop accordingly). Speaking of over-priced, the restaurant at dinner-time should be avoided if you can - everything there is priced well above what it's worth (even their wines are sold at the restaurant for 3x what they cost in the retail store). The one night I was there, for dinner I had a plate that was literally a bit of rice with one (1!) shrimp on top that set me back 25 euros - in hindsight, should have just gotten on my car and driven 5-10 minutes to find something better for 1/3 of the cost. Would I go back? That depends. If my wife drags me back again, perhaps, because that is what you have to do in a marriage, but most likely would not enjoy it. If I had a choice on the matter, though? Not a chance - can easily find something much more enjoyable in plenty of other places.…
Beautiful rooms in a peaceful and charming setting. You can enjoy the swimming pool, play tennis, ride a bike or simply walk in the vineyard. The breakfast is delicious. A truly charming and relaxing place ( restaurant good but pricy and serving very small portions).
We stayed one night and it was stunning. The hotel is superb and location is stunning, the rooms are extremely modern and well designed. We had dinner and the food was excellent. The breakfast was also very good. Highly recommended if you are looking for a great country hotel.
It was the 3rd time we stay at the Torre De Gomariz Hotel and still is an amazing experience. Nice and comfy rooms. Not so good pillows. Nice amenities and a great and tasty breakfast. It's definitely a hotel to repeat.
Simply the best place to relax and recharge you batteries. The environment is quiet and peaceful, the rooms are spacious and have a lot of light, the service is on a luxurious level, the breakfast is amazing and the sights are to die for. Very confortable SPA.
Wow! We stayed here for a week after a couple of day’s in a very busy Porto. Such a beautiful and peaceful location, if you’re looking for tranquility look no further. Facilities are to a very high standard with fabulous, incredibly spacious rooms and bathrooms. Rooms with views over the pool and vineyard and a shaded terrace to enjoy. Beautifully landscaped grounds, wonderful breakfast, extremely professional and accommodating staff. The house wine is wonderful, I looked forward to coffee on the terrace each morning after breakfast, and there is a spa if you want to indulge in a treatment. The hotel is located in a very quiet spot and you will need a car if you want to explore the local area and other eating options which are a drive away, although the hotel Restaurent is superb it’s fairly expensive and if staying for more than a couple of days you are likely to want other options for the variety. We loved our stay here and highly recommend.…
