The Amazon region of Peru is among my favorite places on earth and a place I return to annually as a volunteer with a hospital based medical mission program. I love the area for a variety of reasons, but one of the things that makes a long and demanding week of providing medical care to hundreds of patients on a...

The location provides a wonderful opportunity to experience the rainforest with the hotel comforts of today's traveller. You may see a tapir! The staff is friendly and accommodating. I enjoy drinking star fruit juice and eating fresh fish options and hearts of palm salad.

Good accommodations considering this is the Amazon jungle. Excursions are available to see pink dolphins or catch piranha fish or visit the Ceiba canopy walk. The Ceiba Tree on the property is fabulous. Maybe 20 or 30 feet wide at the base. Excellent place to experience the Amazon in the jungle.

After two nights in a much more rustic setting, we were ready for air conditioned rooms, hot showers, and a pool. The staff and the dining room were great. The breakfasts were very good. We were able to see areas of the river by boat from the lodge and were able to do some walking trails with a guide. The...

My husband and I and a fellow traveler stayed at Ceiba Tops from October 29 to Nov 1, 2016 as an extension to a Smithsonian Journeys Machu Picchu/Galápagos Tour. Abelardo was our guide, just our guide, we had him all to ourselves, for 4 days. We enjoyed the other 2 weeks of the tour but the amazon remains the very...

I stayed in a single room, 3 other friends also stayed here. The rooms were large, the shower great (used it multiple times a day), the guides very knowledgeable and the area gorgeous. We enjoyed the food, the tapirs, the trees, the flowers, piranha fishing (although I didn't catch any), I fell in love with sloths during our excursions! A...

Visited here for two nights, never stayed anywhere like this before, only accessible by boat from the Amazon. It's right in the jungle you really feel like you're miles from anywhere! The rooms are very satisfactory, although I had to turn off the air conditioning at night, but the ceiling fan was more than adequate to keep cool. The dining...

Nestled in the forest along the Amazon River is this amazing complex of lodges that would make anyone want to spend more time relaxing in tranquility away from the noise and chaos of civilization. Comfortable beds in spacious rooms that are air conditioned with lots of hot water for that morning or evening shower. An outdoor pool with a hot...

I stay here every time I come to The Amazon! As I get older I appreciate the amenities more and more. The water is so hot you have to be careful and adjust the shower before you step in. The pool is never too crowded. Two tapirs wander freely around the grounds. Macaws and even a toucan can be seen....

This is the Grand Ritz of places to stay. Pool, Jacuzzi , Jungle, Air conditioning in rooms and right on the Amazon. Great bar and restaurant with great staff. The rooms are big and very well kept. If you want the luxury with the view and the Amazon at the front door, look no further.
