This summary was created by AI, based on recent reviews.

Nestled in a serene setting ideal for leisurely strolls and events, the Mercure Warwickshire Walton Hall Hotel & Spa has been lauded for its picturesque location, though some guests find it somewhat remote. While the rooms are generally perceived as clean, opinions diverge regarding their comfort and modernity, with maintenance and hygiene issues occasionally surfacing. The hotel's value for money is often questioned, as guests cite erratic pricing and costly extras. The spa and amenities elicit a variety of reactions, from appreciation for the treatments to critiques of the outdated facilities. The atmosphere is described as charming in certain areas, yet disappoints in others that appear neglected. Service experiences vary, with commendations for staff friendliness tempered by frustrations over disorganization and slow complaint resolution.

We stayed here for my wife's birthday. The staff here are wonderful ,and a special big thankyou to Cher on reception who helped us with our requests including organising an extra night for us. Great location to explore Stratford upon Avon. Will be back in the future! x

Hostile staff from the moment we walked in. Unhelpful and passive aggressive. Although there were a couple of members of staff that were pleasant, nothing you wouldn’t expect from a hotel. The food was shocking, store bought re heated crap. We tried our best to stay out in Stratford all day to avoid the hotel. Really was poor. Apart from that the location of the hotel was nice and perfect for dogs.

The room was clean but needed new carpets, and we had to request TV aerial replacement. Despite having an espresso machine, no pods were provided. Also, the air-conditioning only blew cold air. We got a disabled room, though concerned it could have been needed by someone else. Unfortunately, it was noisy due to its location next to a staff-only area. Breakfast was good, but we didn't use the leisure facilities. Recommendations to Dianne Mctague, General Manager: - Consider property renovations. - Ensure condiments are available in rooms. - Review and rotate the evening menu. - Check portion sizes for children's meals.

Fantastic facilities and a great upgrade to the Manor House 👌 I stay here on business trips whenever I can, this is my 5th stay here. Evening meals are good and breakfast has a really good choice. Chef will make eggs fresh for you on request which is a nice touch you don’t get everywhere

From check in to departure, cannot fault the service of all staff. In reception, dining area and leisure area. Was able to relax in the warm swimming pool & sauna. Steam room was out of order which was a shame, as was looking forward to that. But not a deal breaker! The only let down was they couldn't get the right booking details on their system, despite having confirmation, for all 4 to dine with them for dinner. So 2 of us sat at 8.45pm as reserved and even though all 4 of us, were eventually able to sit down at the correct time together, before 9pm, we were told 'the chef' was reluctant to serve us from the main menu and so we had to make do with the all day one! This spoilt what we were most looking forward to! Choices were limited especially our GF, veggie member. Apparently, he was annoyed he hadn't got enough notice? Certainly no fault if ours! Food was good, albeit a little on the lukewarm side - we were hungry! We did bring it to the attention of the restaurant manager on site, Oliver who was apologetic and gave us a complimentary bottle of wine to take back with us and said would take it up with the chef. Having a later checkout was good too as we were able to walk off the breakfast, in the lovely surroundings. All in all a pleasant stay, if it hadn't have been for the on duty chef, who "didn't have the authority to make such decisions" since we had paid and booked for a service we didn't receive! (As advised by manager) A bonus would be to have some evening entertainment, maybe? Although we were here for a one night getaway, peaceful break. Which we did get.

Two night stay here. 5 stars from us. Friday and Saturday night stay whilst visiting Stratford whish is only a 15 minute drive away. Rooms clean very comfortable bed, kettle and condiments in the room only option with a safe and iron. Staff were friendly and accommodating. The grounds were lovely and picturesque. Swimming pool sauna and steam room free to use whilst staying. We cannot comment on the restaurant as we never ate there or drank there. In all a great value for money Place to stay. We would return and recommend this place to others

For the price we paid, and compared to other hotels near Stratford/Cotswolds - excellent and I'm surprised at some reviews. Expectations? at the price we got for room-only, it's not luxury and a bit 'lived-in' but we enjoyed: taking our dog (room with patio door), walks through estate grounds, pool/spa - warm pool - often to ourselves. Can't comment on food.

We booked to have a romantic night in the prestigious suite in a 16th century Manor house. On arrival we told reception we were here and they asked us to wait When we could check in no one explained to us that the Manor house was actually shut for repairs Why were we not informed before arriving?? They tried to charge us £20 for an 'upgrade' but when you've been expecting the best room in the hotel, a room which resembled a travel lodge is not going to cut it. They then moved us to an apartment but there was no bath. The girl behind the counter was very apologetic it's not her fault its closed this is on the managers lack of communication with customers that booked certain room. We checked out an drove home we weren't the only ones to do this. Please make people that had booked rooms in the Manor House aware of the issues before they arrive so we could of rebooked for when its repaired but now we will not be returning.

Just spent a very pleasant overnight stay at Walton Hall hotel via a Groupon deal. We were slightly worried about some of the reviews but needn’t have worried because it has been a lovely stay and exceptional value. We stayed in a privilege room in the modern part of the hotel and we could not fault it. The staff have been brilliant and very helpful. Special shout out to reception and the restaurant staff. The pool was relaxing, quiet and warm. The steam room and sauna nice and clean. The only thing that we would mention would be that the cleanliness of the gym needs to be improved. The grounds of the old hall ante stunning and make for a pleasant stroll. Overall though, the stay was very enjoyable and we will definitely visit again. Thank you Mercure Walton Hall.
