My husband and I stayed for a week (March 17 - 24) at Xeliter Vista Mare. We had a great week. The views from our balcony were spectacular, we saw whales and dolphins. The staff were very accommodating and helpful. Freddy the Operations Manager and the reception staff made sure all our requests and concerns were always addressed promptly and always greeted us with big smiles. Felix the Manager of security and his staff made sure we felt safe and well taken care of. The restaurant staff was always so kind, attentive and accommodating always going beyond to please(Fernando. Edwin, Luz, Jose Luis, Jose Miguel, Domingo, Lilliana also the chef and kitchen staff. The food was great and They even made us a delicious home made pizza on our last evening there. We also met other very nice guests who were staying at the Hotel. We walked to the beach almost every day (a good cardio workout) but it was great and the maintenance crew were hard at work doing some repairs from the damages of Hurricane Fiona. We also went on some day trips to Cayo Levitanado, Las Terrenas, playa Poppy and la playita beach. We would recommend you rent a car, but if you do not you can always book a taxi through the reception office for day trips or to go into town for some groceries as we did. The apartment had a lovely wrap around porch. Staff was very attentive and accommodating. No Ubers are allowed on the property and there is only one restaurant and the menu doesn't change. Our last night there we had to leave the restaurant because after an hour and being 1 of 3 occupied tables we still had not gotten our food. Very slow dinner service. The pools were very nice.

My wife and I have just returned from Vista Mare in Samana, DR and have nothing but good reports. We have stayed at another Xeliter property but this one is tops. It is primarily because of the staff. True, the property is stunning from a physical point of view, but alot of times a holiday is made by the people. On check in, Terbis was welcoming and friendly, and after three days of our ten day stay we wanted to be closer to the ocean and he went out of his way to find us the perfect room just above the beach. The entire staff, from the bartenders to the cleaning staff and even the maintenance crew will always greet you with a sincere "hola". The operations manager (Freddy) was tremendously helpful in planning our day trips and was always around to tend to our every need - pretty rare in this day and age. The manager (Alberto) bent over backwards on the last day to allow us a late check out to accommodate our 10:00pm flight back to Toronto. Again, read other reviews about the beauty of the place, but for us, it was the friendly and welcoming people that made our stay, so much so that we bought wine as gifts for Freddy and Terbis when we left - that doesn't happen often! What a blessing! We arrived yesterday (March 7, 2023) to celebrate our 50th anniversary and were met by employees who treated us like family in the restaurant "El Cayo", the office and maintenance crew, all very kind and helpful. The clean and cozy apartment has EXTRAORDINARY floor to ceiling views of the legendary Samana Bay, which is the whale sanctuary and motivated us to visit the area. The first day has been a huge success! we expect the adventure to continue. We already saw whales from the HUGE terrace of the apartment and also from the restaurant early in the morning at breakfast!

My husband and I just came back from a week exploring the Samaná Peninsula and the north coast. Xeliter Vista Mare was our home base. It was tranquil, beautiful and the service was superb. Our accommodations were comfortable, from the bed to the balcony, and we had everything we needed. The management was quickly responsive to any needs that we had. The location of this property cannot be beat. The views are stunning, beautiful sunsets, and amazing whale watching right from our balcony or the open air restaurant. The pool area is very tastefully designed and the restaurant is lovely, as is the food! The beaches are lovely, and worth the climb down the lengthy steps! We went down for the day - it was quiet and so scenic.

If you're looking for serenity and the beautiful sound of the ocean, just book it. My only issue was the cats finding their way into the unit and shredding the garbage up and maybe a few seconds of power outages depending on the weather. Other than that everything else is good. The food is very good as well. Security is on point, staff is always willing to assist with any issues. I will definitely be visiting here again because it's worth it.

Awesome view of the ocean, can easily see whales from the balcony. But the flat we got to begin with was very run down. They moved us to another one which was fine. It’s a great place to stay if you’re in the area.

Awesome views, Incredible service, 2 great beaches and pools. Definitely recommended stay. House could use a bit of maintenance, there are some exposed wires and floor is uneven. Kitchen also missing some equipements. But all in all, it's a great location for any holiday. The views are definitely worth it.

In general, everything was as expected. The place is very heavenly and safe. However, during our stay we did not have hot water in the bathrooms nor was the flow of water adequate. From the first day this was discussed with the administration but it was not possible for them to resolve the problem. For the rest everything was very good.

We visited Vista Mare recently - and would wholeheartedly recommend it to anybody looking for a chill, private vacation in the Dominican Republic! Samana is a nice chill spot to begin with, which was our alluring factor over some of the more "touristy" destinations such as Puerto Plata or Punta Cana. What we LOVED about Vista Mare was its privacy (two private beaches on property, two swimming pools...we felt like we had the whole island to ourselves at times) and the service of the staff! Freddy (the Resident Manager) took such good care of us and met with us personally every day to ensure that all our needs were met. We were traveling with our toddler - so getting up to the restaurant and back was a trek on foot...but Freddy and his team made sure that we had pick-ups and drop offs to and from our room on demand! The reception gave us their WhatsApp details, and were SUPER responsive. The apartment was big and spacious - and the unobstructed BEAUTIFUL ocean views truly lived up to its name. Overall - this place truly hit the spot and gave us what we were looking for (a nice, relaxing and private holiday).
