Very poor property dirty carpets rotting windows mould in the bathroom.Poor room servicing the worst I have cum across nothing cleaned a set of towels put on a unmade bed.Just some of the delights of the Fox.The bar is a souless place it must have had all its character removed years ago. The English breakfast very small was just ok. The continental breakfast very poor not many items. The hotel needs refurbishment .A good clean and staff that are interested and not rude to guests and want to work there would help improve it.

My one star is for the village, as it’s beautiful, the pub deserves 0. Staff don’t care and don’t want to be there, most of the time you can’t find one. Pub was probably once very quaint, but now it’s soulless and definitely in need of a new owner. Food follows the same story, try it at your own risk and don’t get me started on the “breakfast”.

We specifically booked this place as it advertises itself as wheelchair accessible and disabled friendly on their website. Not always trusting this, we even called up and checked and we were told that they had accessible rooms with bathrooms that had a wet room and chair. Perfect! I am a full time wheelchair user and finding places that enable me to be independent and comfortable is obviously really important. We arrived and discovered there are steps to the hotel entrance - bad start, I had to be lifted in to the hotel. Bye bye independence and dignity from the start - let's hope there is no fire in the middle of the night or that I may want to get in or out of the hotel quickly or by myself then. Do I want food? I hope not as there's a massive step to access the "accessible" restaurant. (To be honest the overwhelming smell of fat coming from the "restaurant" as we got out of the car didn't shout gastronomy to me and I would suggest it's best avoided anyway). Navigating through the narrow corridor was only possible because I have a narrow small framed chair, if you have a powerchair it isn't possible. The so called accessible room was a nightmare and quite frankly it's fraud to call it accessible. The doorway was so narrow that I'm surprised I even got through it. The bathroom was so tiny that I couldn't even get in to it at all, and it wasn't a wet room. There were no grab rails or emergency pull cords to be found anywhere, or anything to cater for someone with a disability with their comfort and safety in mind. Instead there was a normal enclosed shower with a large step to get in, with a narrow door and no seat. Not that it mattered given I couldn't get in it. We complained and looked at another room. The roman blinds were falling off the window, and the bathroom exactly the same. Definitely not! Third and final room had its own internal corridor and corner that made entering it so tight that it took a ten point turn and then some. Points for wheelchair skills, zero points for safety or accessibility. I could just get in to the bathroom if someone reversed me in, but I was then wedged between the toilet and the sink with no room to transfer (again no grab rails etc). The radiator was also leaking all over the floor so I probably could have gone for a swim fairly soon if we hadn't decided at this point to leave! At least that room will have had a clean, which is more than I can say for the rest of the hotel. Photos on the website are deceiving, it's horrible in there. A lucky escape, we left to go to The Holiday Inn just down the road which is much more accessible and friendly. Its places like this that make me feel disabled, and for that I am so upset. Even if you aren't disabled, avoid this place. Everything seemed broken and dirty and they clearly don't care about lying to potential customers in order to get your money.

I saw it was disabled and wheelchair accessible and our adult daughter is in a wheelchair. I rang to check that it was wheelchair accessible as well and told it was. Big step into reception which she couldn’t have managed on her own . Untidy dirty reception and corridor . Daughter could hardly fit wheelchair down the corridor and couldn’t get into bathroom at all . Shown another room - same to very apologetic staff said my daughter could have our double which had a bigger bathroom and we would have to stay in two singles . First one curtain is falling off window so shown another that is absolutely boiling hot . Meanwhile daughter goes to toilet and has to hold onto radiator as no grab rails which suddenly starts gushing water from the valve at the bottom and floods bathroom. At this point we say enough and at 8.30 at night ring to find another hotel nearby which is great . Do not stay here if you are disabled
