If you're not a fisherman you go here for one reason - to see jaguars. And if you go at the right time of year you're pretty much guaranteed to see them. And close up. In two days I had 11 different sightings of 7 different jaguars, including one that swum across the river right in front of us. Even...

The hotel is the best available for viewing jaguar along the Pantanal River. Viewings of jaguar is by boat and the hotel has some of the best boats and drivers available in the area. It is the best located hotel for jaguar sightings.

Visiting the Pantanal to see wildlife, especially jaguars, we were advised that Porto Jofre is the best place to go. The good part is that this is true. We saw 12 Jaguars in 5 days as well as lots of other wildlife. All trips are made by boat on the adjoining river. The sights and sounds are truly amazing. For...

Wonderful place to camp by the river (they let well-behaved long-term travelers who arrive in their own vehicle set up camp for a few days). Fantastic, huge water-lily pond, lots of birds. The young and dynamic receptionist Roger speaks perfect English and truly looked after us. Thank you so much! We took a half-day jaguar tour in a skippered boat...

We loved it here. Roger the manager could not have been more helpful and accommodating. This is definitely the best location in the northern Pantanal, the gardens are very beautiful and right on the river. All the other lodges up the road have to drive some distance just to get to the river. Here you can get up early and...

Sorry, but this is the 2nd worst place I've stayed for a wildlife experience. The first, on the same Pantanal trip last August , was the Jaguar Houseboat which I'm not able to review as its not listed on TA. Room A/c didn't work on arrival. And after it was fixed it made so much noise we couldn't sleep for...

Keep in mind that this is a fishing lodge first and foremost. And also a few people come to see jaguars! The lodges are set up for fishing groups. By that I mean there were four single beds and two complete bathrooms in our lodge (two of us!) But it was clean, well maintained and comfortable. Blue Maccaws were roosting...

This place was the highlight of our trip to Brazil! My two sons (ages 12 and 9) stayed here in July. The hotel rooms (cabins really) were very nice. The A/C worked perfectly, everything was clean, and the food was good. The cabins are right on the river, and macaws were in the trees right by the cabins. We chose...

The rooms are spacious and comfortable. There is a good swimming pool and free wi fi in the rooms. The food is simple but good and tasty. The staff are helpful and the situation by the Cuiaba river is idyllic.

This is the best place in the world to see jaguars I saw 5. My holiday was arranged by east travel in Ipswich. We started in the pantanal then went to chile and argentina. We stayed at great hotels and had a fantastic trip through the Andes staying for a night in the Andes at a wonderful place. Won't forget...
