Not a five star hotel as advertised - just five star prices with 2 star service at best. Heather, who greeted us on arrival was wonderful and hospitable, but most other staff who worked at the resort were quite cold and rude. Maybe it’s because my partner and I are gay and this area is conservative, but we did nothing that to deserve this kind of treatment. When we get to the main pool, it’s busy and no one greets us or offers to help us find a place to sit as I would expect from a 5 star resort. This causes the main pool to have a very “fend for yourself” vibe which is not relaxing, even despite the nice views. The pool is also missing 20% of its tiles - again not 5 stars. That night we went to cardamom for dinner, and the layout is so so so weird. There is no obvious door and we walked around looking for the door as the employees just stared at us through the glass without any sort of urgency to help or greet us. Finally we try one “entrance” and it’s blocked by a folding table. It was so awkward and no one seemed to care at all that guests were confused where the door was. Also, we overheard one of the servers talking crap about other patrons eating dinner that night - very classy. Next day we went to north beach for lunch - buggy person was friendly and kind, but the moment we step foot on the beach, we just get blank stares, and an eye roll from the chef standing at the bar. After ordering at the bar, no one helped us set up beach chairs or umbrellas - we literally had to drag chairs to be under shade, and employees just watched us do their job. Oh, not to mention the menu is extremely boring, containing just chips, hamburgers and hotdogs lmao. Sounds like a 5 star resort, right? Wrong. Next day, I’m woken up from sleeping at 8am by a phone call to talk a review I left for the North beach restaurant. While I appreciate the thought to check in, disturbing someone on vacation at 8am is not very well thought out. This could’ve been handled very differently, and again started my day on a bad note. Who likes being woken up by the phone, especially on vacation? When checking out the managers Candice and Heather were extremely kind and understanding, which I appreciated. However, the nail in the coffin was when we got dropped off at the ferry, I had emailed AND called to have a shuttle set up to drive us to the airport. We were also with another family, and this shuttle never came. We called and called the resort and no one would answer or help us so we ended up walking in the blistering heat with our luggage to the airport. Again, lazy, unreliable, and not 5 stars. There’s something to be said about being hospitable and having pride when working in hospitality, and this place greatly missed the mark. Don’t waste your money here unless you like poor service, overpriced uninspired food, and cold stares. Beaches aren’t that great on this island either - barely existent and rocky. We went to a beach shake on Tortola and it had better vibes than this place.…

My husband and I came here for a 10 year anniversary trip. We had such a nice time at the resort. The restaurants were really good and the pools are nice. The beach is a bit small but it didn’t really bother us. We did kayak one day which was really fun. They have them right in the property to borrow. They also have a great paved walkway that circles around the whole resort. We walked each morning which was really nice.

Lovely spot that you won't forget. Hotel room was clean, spacious, and very well-appointed. The staff were all friendly and polite. Looking at those gorgeous views and azur water all day will certainly make you smile. Wide range of guests from honeymooners to multi generational families and all seemed happy.

I absolutely loved my time here. From the moment we arrived, we were greeted with welcome drinks. The staff were all so friendly and helpful. Beautiful resort with great food, views and tons of options for excursions. JP at the restaurant was such a delight! We felt extremely welcomed and were grateful for the room upgrade. The front desk staff, Heather, provided a ton of necessary information on travel logistics prior to our arrival. The concierge staff, especially Ronisha, were the most helpful I’ve ever had from dinner reservations, self guided island hoping tips, transportation etc They catered to every request we made with so much kindness and care. I would definitely recommend this as a vacation spot and would be glad to come back. Clear beautiful ocean. The food at the resort was really good for dinner. I only wished for a better beach on the island. We went to the north beach just once on a very windy day. It was a bit rocky too.…

We stopped here during our 8 day catamaran trip for a day to relax in the pool and have some good food and also just a day to chill on the island. Delta had lost our luggage which hadn’t arrived for 6 days by the time we arrived at scrub island 😡 luckily we had called again on the morning of our scrub island visit and it was miraculously found in Atlanta and put on a flight to St Thomas but then needed to be transported to us. The Marriott concierge was great at helping us to facilitate its transport and arrival to us. It had to get onto two different boats and then miraculously finally made it to us!!! 🙏🏻 All we had to do was pay a $40 water taxi fee to the boat captain. We were soooo thankful to have been at the Marriott this day to help facilitate all of this. Not sure how we would have ever found the bag otherwise with us being on a catamaran and moving to a different island each day. The resort was beautiful and the food was delicious. The sweetest lady with the most amazing happy spirit named Roslyn in the provisions store just made our day each time we went in there. She sang songs and was always so joyful and happy. Wish I could just take her home. She was absolutely adorable and such a light in the world. ❤️ Thank you Marriott for making our trip so memorable! …

One of my favorite places on my week long catamaran cruise in the BVI was our stay at Scrub Island. The beauty of the views, the magnificently kept grounds of the resort and especially the quality of the staff made the experience of our stay at Scrub Island truly outstanding. We loved our massages and facials at the spa and our swims at the pools. As I was leaving, I panicked because I thought I lost my wallet and the staff helped me to look for it and professionally handled my situation. Fortunately, I found it at the bottom of my backpack and everyone was so kind and forgiving of my mistake. The staff at the resort are highly professional and we felt very comfortable, secure and relaxed in this beautiful resort.

Our spring break at the Scrub Island Resort far exceeded what we could have ever imagined. It was literally a perfect week. The service was incredible at every turn, Fayon specifically made sure everything we needed was taken care of. We had wonderful days on the water with kayaks, paddleboards, and snorkels. You can't beat the painkillers at the swim up bar. The north beach festival is also a must do!

We arrived at Scrub Island Resort to a friendly staff ready to assist with our check-in and guide us to our rooms. Our room was spacious with a gorgeous view of the marina and Big Scrub Island. We enjoyed time at the North Beach, as well as in the resort pools. Everything was clean and well maintained. When we wanted to go to another island (Tortola and Virgin Gorda), we were transported on the ferry to Tortola by friendly staff willing to assist in helping us find the locations on the island we were looking for.

Stayed on the dock in the marina on our Moorings cat. Dockmaster was so kind and helpful. I wish I recalled his name but it's escaping me. If I remember I will edit this post with it. He was awesome. Easy slips for these cats, and great amenities ashore. The restaurant upstairs was good, and the drinks were great too! Overall great stop for anyone looking to escape the weather, or simply to have an upscale environment for a bit. Could not have been more accommodating.
