The value of time is the first and foremost gift that the Marquesas offers to travellers. Located in a magnificent tropical garden, Le Nuku Hiva by Pearl Resorts overlooks the bay and village of Taiohae and the black sandy beach lying 50 steps below. Each bungalow are built with local materials and each of them have carvings by a different artist from the Marquesas Islands. Appreciate this typical atmosphere found in the Marquesas with modern comforts.

I liked it here so far the view is beautiful and I am happy about the staff and they have a library as well. The rooms are good but the sockets in the wall are too old and some appliances. The balcony floor needs repainting. Helpful staff.

We sailed to the Marquesas from Panama on our 42' yacht. After 30 days at sea we wanted to have a cocktail at the famous Pearl Lodge happy hour on a Friday night. My parents were wondering if they could visit us here in Nuku Hiva and so we thought we'd kill two birds with one stone by having a drink and checking out the hotel. Our experience was one of strange disinterest. "Happy Hour" was suddenly reservation only even though the bar was empty and the patio empty. The restaurant was full of people in t-shirts even though my wife and I managed business casual after a month at sea. They did get us a prompt taxi ($5 USD per Person) as we didn't want to walk the road back in the dark. We had a blast at the various Snacks (restaurants) and cultural festival (July). My advice is if your looking for actual high end accommodations you'd be better off on a different island and instead keep your Nuku Hiva experience more local. The island is charming even if the lodge is confused about their mission of hospitality.

Room Tip: Wouldn't bother if you aren't staying there, they seem disinterested in the yacht crowd.

The cabins are made from natural materials and are located in the beautiful gardens on a hill overlooking Tahaie bay. Hotel staff very friendly and attentive to the smallest detail. The excursions offered by the hotel were exceptionally good and worth the money and gave a detailed look into the Marquesan life, and that made the stay unforgettable.

We’ve stayed in this hotel for 3 night - logdes were clean, well furnisher, bed was extra prepared before bed-time - which was very nice. We especially love the staff, who even got up early to prepare us breakfast at 5:30 - thank You again! The pool is tiny, but it’s sufficient to relax after a whole day sightseeing. The pool bar offers really good variety of drinks, breakfast was fresh and colorfull. Having in mind that we were in a hotel in one of the most remoted places on earth, far from quick-delivery, everything was as it shoul be. The hotel also offers a shuttle service to and from the airport.

The Marquesas were on the bucket list and we were able to finally check them off the list. This is the only Resort on the islands and what a wonderful Resort it is. The staff could not have been more helpful, welcoming and warm. The Bungalows where very Island Motif with amazing views of the Bay. We had booked a Premium Bay View with a spectacular view but unfortunately we were unable to climb the hill due to some mobility issues. The staff offered to move us to a wonderful Bayview Bungalow much closer to the reception area for our comfort. They went out of their way to help us with this move and accommodated our needs. The staff with, limited english, went above and beyond in making our stay most memorable. The excursions were top rated and you should book with them when you check-in. The trip from the airport to the resort is about 1.25 hours long. Remember, you are out in yhe middle of the Pacific, a 3.25 hour flight from Tahiti. The Marquesas and island people are amazing and you should go if given the chance. Vai nui Jerome, Jennifer, Yvanna, Daisy and all of the staff!

Just finished up 5 nights in Nuku Hiva at the Pearl. Great location, we did the premium view unit (16) and the view is worth it as you have a greater sense of privacy and amazing views of the ocean and landscape. The food is excellent, every night was perfect and the views are top notch. The best part of this resort is the staff. We so enjoyed their hospitality and helping some of them brush up on their English while we tried to learn Marquesan. Overall this place is worth twice what you pay and affords an experience worthy of the investment you will make in getting to their island. Looking forward to the next trip and more memories.

This is a gem on a remote island. M. Thibaut Uzeel will take very good care of you. If you have dietary restrictions, the hotel will accommodate you if you give them advance notice. The bungalows overlook the bay. Lovely setting. Tastefully put together.

While we only spent one day/night here I am glad we did! Firstly, the town itself is on the opposite end of the island from the airport and the landscape changes multiple times on the trip. The hotel has a transfer service and the transfer was one of the more enjoyable parts of the trip! The hotel itself is at the edge of the town with easy access to walk to either the public beach or to town. The pool was a bit small for the size of the property. We had stayed at another Pearl property with the same bungalow designs (in Hiva Oa) though these were much better maintained. We had both dinner and breakfast in the restaurant - lots of options and good quality. Staff also super friendly and helpful. Be sure to wear ear plugs if a light sleeper as they had roosters.

We spent 3 nights here as part of our 3.5 week honeymoon tour of French Polynesia. The service was outstanding and the reason this is a 5-star review- literally better service than the fancy $1500/night hotel. The housekeeping was especially fantastic. The general manager was off-site for our whole stay so it’s even more impressive that the staff performed so well. This is more of a glamping experience than a luxury hotel stay so adjust your expectations. You will see bugs on this trip, hear roosters, etc. The mosquitos in the restaurant/ lobby are vicious. We got more bites in this area than anywhere else on our trip- even while wearing Ben’s 30% Deet the mosquitos found every inch of skin we didn’t spray. There is no internet in the rooms so we had to come to the restaurant to check on work, etc. The food was good by French Polynesia standards. The beef comes from New Zealand and was just okay. The chicken will probably be a disappointment for most Americans. The fish and potato dishes are very good. The breakfast buffet is expensive and underwhelming. As a general caution, we had coffee with milk the last day— did not have either the other days— and both had very upset stomachs. Most likely the milk. The pool was fantastic and clean and the bar was also great.

This is another lovely hotel with a wonderful view of the harbor at Nuku Hiva with an infinity pool to die for. The Manager Jerome is meticulous in keeping the place spotless and the staff are very welcoming, helpful and friendly. The whole ambiance is one of island calm and serenity. The food in the restaurant is very good and even though on one evening, the hotel was taken over by a local wedding, the hotel made sure that the guests were well taken care of and not disturbed. The association with excellent guides gives the chance to experience other parts of the island and the hotel has bikes which can be taken for trips into town. This is a great experience.
