Crystal-clear water awaits. Villea Village is located on the SE of Crete, where you find authentic Crete. Individual units surround an olive grove; each kitchenette apartment has its own patio or balcony. This small family-run resort has showed warm Cretan hospitality for decades. It is private yet you can find an activity to join next door or in our rec centre. Hear Cretan music, learn Cretan dancing, drink Cretan wines and local spirits, have a go at quiz night, enjoy poolside bbqs or do nothing at all. Lie around the 25m pool, relax in our gardens, or walk 50m to the sandy beach (and shops and restaurants). This fishing village is full of seaside tavernas. Indoor/outdoor restaurants serve famed local cuisine. Walking to the village or to town centre is flat. Behind our boutique resort are gorges for hiking... some walk to local mountain villages for a beer. In front of the resort is the main village road along beachfront. Guest return multiple times to simply lie by the pool; or spend time watching local craftsmen and fishermen ply their trade. Many guests comment "once is not enough". The nightlife, hiking and archaeological finds abound in this area. It is one of those precious areas that allows a cultural relaxing holiday.

It is 6 months later and I still remember this charming resort. The staff and the neighborhood are so charming, thoughtful, and kind. As LGBT travelers we felt so welcomed on this quiet island town. The resort was very well kept. Picture this, old Greek white wash apartments with flowers all over is a olive tree setting. View are rustic, charming, even a little ocean view from some balconies. Now, yes the place is old, but well maintained, that’s the charm. Bathroom was renovated, clean, nothing fancy. They thought of every thing. And these little things count. Although the grounds outside are NOT overrun with mosquitos, if you leave you’re door open to let in the Greek isle breezes on your terrace, some will still get in. Solution? Yes they have plug ins to repel them. It works great. The AC is old and is programed to go off 3 hours around midnight to 3 am. Solution, they provide a fan. Since it never gets scorching hot because of the cool breezes this works fine. And I am a super hot sleeper and hate no ac. It a major deal for me but I was more than fine here. Prices are decent, happy hour is great! Pool is second to none at the pool bar. Beach has a Tiki bar (Not owned by resort) that turns into an outdoor night lounge at night. Beach is 1 block away and is to die for, but a short drive will take you to secluded beaches that will take your breath away. Bring your own meet barbecue is a must. You go to the butcher in town, get your favorite meat, seafood, vegetable. They will prepare it for you and have a beautiful poolside dinner with all the guest. A night of Greek Music, under the stars and olive trees and amazing staff providing an excellent evening. The staff make you feel like family and you want to come back and visit. I will never forget this place. And I will be back. One tip. Make sure you get a rental car. Your missing out if you don’t explore the super safe area.

Villea Village is an amazin place. Nothing is too much bother for the staff. Every member of staff is goes over and above for you. When ever I have had a question, Sue has always been quick to answer my questions. Vassili local knowledge is amazing and he always has time to help you. The bring your own BBQ is great fun and a great way to meet new people. At Villea Village everyone feels like a big family. Chrissoula's food is so delicious, her cheese pies and spinach pies are to die for. So are Niko's cocktails especially at happy hour. Breakfast is available and is a fantastic buffet.

Villea Village, situated in south-east Crete, is a very special place. We recently spent two weeks there, and had a wonderful, restful holiday. The rooms and pool/bar area were immaculately clean, and it was lovely to relax amongst the olive trees which surround the pool. The staff were all friendly and helpful. We enjoyed the breakfasts and must thank Chrisoulla for her welcoming smile every day and her enthusiasm. We also enjoyed a super evening of wine tasting with Vasilli, the resort manager, who is very knowledgable about all things Cretan, and introduced us to a good range of Cretan wines. The beach is only about a hundred metres away, and swimming in the crystal clear sea was great. We hope to return next year. Thank you everyone!

Thank you so much for such a wonderful review - delighted that you enjoyed your stay and are hopefully searching your local wine stores for fine Cretan wines [ have mentioned to Vassili that you wrote - he sends greetings and asks you to let us know if you find any Cretan wines and where]. Will pass your comments on to Chrissoula - who as I write is cheerfully serving breakfast to our end of season guests. Looking forward to seeing you next year, Kind Regards Sue

We have just returned from a week at Villea Village. Our flight was due to arrive very late so I emailed to find out about late check in. I had a very quick from Sue saying that reception would be closed but a note left on the side door given us our room number and she would see us in the morning to check in. She explained everything about the resort and activities next morning. The setting of the apartments and studios is beautiful. There is lots of bougainvillea and hibiscus and it is so peaceful. The Village is lovely too. There are some really good tavernas - Golden Beach- was a favourite. Unfortunately we didn't make it to Dragons Cave as we didn't have a car and although Sue tried 3 firms no taxi was available. We'll have a car next year to make the most of the area. As another review said Vassilis is very knowledgable an the wine tasting he did showcasing Cretan wines was excellent. We wanted a really relaxing week this year as we had had lots of things to deal with and we definitely found that at Villea Village. We are certainly looking forward to returning to this idyllic place and its friendly people. Only two really minor pleas. Would it be possible to have just a small toaster and one smaller pan in the studios. I did miss my toast. Thank you everyone there who made it such a lovely week.

Good Morning, Thank you for taking time to comment on Trip Advisor - why on earth didn't you say you wanted a toaster - most rooms just have a sandwich toaster but we do have some pop up toasters - same applies to a small pan. Please when you visit again ask us if you need anything - we always do our very best to provide. Its much better to do that here than wait and mention it when you are home!! Hopefully we will see you again next year - do drop me an e mail saying you would like a small pan and a pop up toaster!!! Best Wishes to you both Sue

A fantastic resort with amazing pool in the most beautiful, unspoilt south eastern Crete. October is amazingly quiet for visitors but still plenty of reaturants open. Amazing beaches and sea temperature great at this time of the year.

Kalimera, Thank you so much for taking the time to comment - delighted you enjoyed this rather special part of Crete. We are very fortunate in having such a lovely and large pool [ I often think it was designed in centimetres and built in inches!] - there are so many different types of beaches nearby - seem to satisfy most tastes. Hope that you visit us again in the future Kind Regards Sue
