I stayed at the Davvi Arctic Lodge for 3 nights and 4 days on March 17th. I had no idea what to expect of the holiday but I couldn't have been more impressed. We were immediately taken to get snowsuits and boots and then went...More
We stayed in a cabin which was warm cosy and clean, the underfloor heating in the bathroom & your own personal sauna were a real bonus, it's only a minutes walk to the main hotel, so no need to put the suits & boots on....More
We went as an all inclusive package from "Transun"; with the hope of seeing the Northern Lights. We would have seen them if we'd stayed up an extra 3 hours when a brief break in cloud cover revealed them to others.
There is a variety...More

We stayed here 4 nights recently and thoroughly enjoyed our experience. The room we had in the hotel was comfortable and warm, and while the bathroom was small it was fine. The activities on site were good: husky sledging, cross country skiing and snow mobiling,...More

I went 2 years ago. Hotel is warm and clean but is basic (UK 2 star in my opinion). I don't think it's standard is unusual for northern Finland that seems to be rustic compared to what us Brits expect when we have paid so much, but as I lowered my expectations, we really enjoyed ourselves. Communal foyer, lounge and dining room were festively decorated. We took travel kettle and coffee etc sachets plus DVD players, card games and colouring etc to occupy children if in bedroom for any time (as there is no radio / TV unless go to communal lounge). Get to dining room early for meals otherwise be prepared to queue. We took snacks for bedroom but there is very well equipped mini mart, cafe and large gift shop a few mins walk from hotel. Sells gloves etc too. Can hire chairs on skis which were novel for our children to ride on when we did 20 min walk into Sweden. There is a church there on a hill which was great fun racing down with the chair- skis and did Carol concerts too. Husky ride was brief but enjoyable with plenty of photo opportunities afterwards. The reindeer ride is rustic with traditional furskin covered low sleigh not a fancy large red sleigh we associate with reindeers but more authentic. Our children enjoyed it and so we were happy. Take snoods or scarf and gel hand warmers if you get easily cold. Was -26 one day we were there! Enjoy.
