I spent 5 nights at the Surf Lodge. It's a really calm and nice place to relax. Unfortunately I got sick during my stay and couldn't do a surf course. But I could borrow a bike and discover the surroundings. The staff is extremely friendly. Especially the manager Miranda was very helpful. She took me to different places, made a fire at night and was a nice company during my stay. Patrick also prepared a Hot Tub on my last night. I can definitely recommend this Surf Lodge.

I went first with my wife, then with my family and with friends that came all the way from France. We enjoyed ourselves every time. Along the lodge there are several cabins built each one by a different owner that are managed by the lodge's staff. Lodge and cabins are in the middle of a pine forest. We have always stayed in one of the cabins for 2, 5 or 10 persons. It's a lovely place, peaceful and quiet. If you are looking for excellence and service this is NOT the place, go to Alaia hotel - and pay for the higher standard - . To enjoy this place you need to overlook the details and keep it simple. In our top 5 ranking of things you can do here: hot tub by night with white wine, salt bath with the same wine, sleep until 10 am or more (after the hot tube or the salt bath), enjoy the silence, talk to each other. You can go surfing to Punta de Lobos, one of the best waves in Chile. You will need a car to go anywhere, there is nothing at a walking distance - remember, you are in the middle of a pine forest. Hope you'll enjoy it as much as we did. Go during the winter and you will have everything Pichilemu has to offer just for yourself.

Well worth the visit! The staff are amazing, I'd hurt my back and the staff were extremely helpful with suggestions of the hot salt tub to fix me up and get me back surfing. Next to a great surf spot.

Pros - Wonderful location in pinewoods. Buildings in harmony with surroundings. - Amazing stargazing at night. - Great breakfast - Friendly, helpful staff. Staff speak limited English, but hey, this is Chile so that is OK. - Nice, cozy common room with wood oven for heating. - We visited the Lodge during the winter; Rooms have adequate heating. Cons - Rooms a bit small and spartan. As noted by others, walls are thin so not much privacy. - No Internet in rooms. There is good wifi in the common spaces.

We were spending Christmas in Pichilemu as a family group: 2 adults and our two grown up children. Given the mixed reviews in the past we were very pleasantly surprised by what this place has to offer. It is located in lovely secluded grounds amongst the pines. The lodges are sign posted from the main road with the turning you need to take being opposite to that going to Punta de Lobos. The track is a dirt road and quite bumpy but after about 5 kms you will arrive at the site. There is parking by the reception area but after you have checked in you can park close to your accommodation. We had a very warm and friendly greeting and were told about the various spa offerings you could book including a hot tub, a fantastic wood burning sauna and a eucalyptus bath. We enjoyed all three during Christmas Eve evening. We also made use of the barbecue which is situated by the main fire pit. The latter is lit around 9pm and makes a lovely focal point. There are also two small swimming pools within a lovely set of terraces. The continental breakfast was well organised and we were offered scrambled or fried eggs too. We ate one night at the restaurant and the pizzas were fine for what we fancied. There is a large double storey comunual lounge and kitchen area where you can make yourself a tea or coffee. From upstairs there are ocean views through the trees. This area was comfortable and relaxing. Our room comprised a double bed and a separate area with bunk beds. There was also a bath and shower. The rooms are quite basic and rustic and as per other reviews the walls are quite thin so you can hear people having showers our moving around upstairs. But the beds were very big and comfortable and I slept very well on the two nights we stayed there. Overall we had a very agreeable time and enjoyed discovering all the different features this special place has to offer.
