When I read industrial style I had no idea thus meant a dirty cement roof in my room. It smelt like cement. The place was dark and dim. The toilets in the main area were unfinished. I will not be recommending this place. Be aware there is funky and then their is unfinished. This is unfinished.

Drove over six hours to get to Newtown to catch up with old friends and family to have the accommodation cancelled at the last minute without excuse. SO MANY bad reviews out there with people waiting for their refunds. Save your $$$

The Urban Newtown is a great location for the Enmore and the Newtown area but this hotel provides only the very basics. Our room had a nice bathroom but the rest was very basic. Although the hotel says the rooms are noise-proofed, the noise above from someone walking around was very loud and, although i’m normally a good sleeper, woke me a few times during the night. The mini-bar was empty but they said ‘free mini-bar’ if you book directly! There was a coffee machine in the room but no coffee pods (and not even a coffee sachet). Overall, great location but didn’t have any of the good touches you’d expect if you pay a reasonable accomdation price.

We booked the queen room suite for my birthday via Agoda. Finding the parking was a bit tricky and we were lucky we stumbled upon the parking lot when the gate was open otherwise we wouldn't have known where to go. There also appeared to be only a few parking spots in the garage so you would want to call ahead and try a book a spot if needed (it's $40 and you only get one spot). They gave me complimentary parking as it was my birthday, and a room with a balcony on the first floor. For the price we payed the room was more than expected, with a small kitchenette. There was some minor issues such as one of the room lights not working, the other needing to be flicked a few times before turning on, and a crack in the sliding door. Otherwise really good value for the location and perfect for a room to sleep after a night out at Newtown.

I can see what the building is trying to be and the concept is good. Unfortunately the execution is not. The beds comfortable and the room whilst starkly minimalist is almost ok. But the standard rooms are just too small. Bathroom is tiny and basic and whilst adding a kitchenette the space taken would have been better added to the bathroom. Then the little touches - a pod coffee machine with no pods, no bathmat, and a very noisy always running fridge are just not up to scratch. We paid 5 star for what's struggling to be a 3 star. The receptionist gets a gold star though- friendly, helpful and relaxed and makes it hard to criticize. The location is ideal for access to Newtown and Enmore too. In the end I had to ask myself would I stay again? And the answer is no- just too many shortcomings.
