We got this hotel in November because we had an outreach around the area. I was not expecting so much because of the location. I can say that i was impressed with the service rendered by the staff of the hotel, the room size and the cleanliness of the environment. Room service also available at a cost. WIFI password available on request. Lovely stay. The only problem is the road getting to the Hotel...

Great hotel to stay specially for those visiting SCOAN Excellent security. The hotel is safe. Food is very good. Rooms are comfortable, quiet and we felt secure. The staff in particular were excellent, extremely friendly and helpful. The rooms were cleaned each day. My husband and I spent 5 days here on SCOAN trip - everything was fine. Mrs Chika is the person in charge of the Hotel, a perfect lovely lady. Reception two helpful girls Mercy and Bertha . I have to mention that at one occasion I have dropped USD 400 before leaving the room and on my return the money was found at my bedside table. Very honest people. I think his name was Samuel. Thank you so much for your hospitality.

Staff: I stayed here for 12 days so I have so much to say. This hotel became home for me at the beginning of the year. The staff, from the taxi driver who picks you up at the airport, to the security guards and every single member of staff is ALWAYS happy to see you. Genuine African hospitality! If you are afraid to travel to Nigeria on your own, don't be. Book your room with this hotel and they will communicate with you by phone and email to confirm everything and get your travel updates. You will pay for the taxi at the hotel front desk 5000 Naira. The hotel taxi driver will be waiting just outside the airport doors, immediately outside on the curb with a sign with your name on it. It you cannot see it, you can purchase a sim card inside the lobby and call the hotel or ask someone to call but your driver will not leave without you.Keep the hotel number on you always. Currency: They will help you to change currency at a great rate without you ever feeling unsafe and they can take you anywhere you need to be taken around Lagos. The best rate is given for $100 and $50 bills. $20 bills will be changed at a much lower rate, and $10 bills at an even lower rate. Much less $5 and $1 bills. So when you withdraw money to take to Nigeria, ask you bank for the larger denominations and don't break down those bills before you get here. You can pay for your stay in Naira, the local currency or in USD. You can even pay in advance online. There is a nearby bank at the College Station Bustop (I went there by the local motorbike for 200 Naira. You will see two ATMs outside and you can withdraw from your international account. Please advise your bank in advance that you will be travelling so that they let your transaction go through. You will withdraw in Naira but your banks' conversion rate will greatly disappoint you later. Just try to come with enough money to begin with. Location: The hotel is a 5 minute stroll to the Synagogue Christ for All Nations. If you want to catch the service and get a seat inside the main auditorium you may need to get going at about 3:30am. No worries, the hotel will always have other guests heading that way and local transport or a taxi is always there if you don't want to walk. Otherwise you go later and enjoy the services from the overflow seating in the canopies or stay in your room and watch it online. By why would you go all the way there and stay in your room now? :-) Food: The hotel restaurant has a really good extensive menu. You will find western style and native style dishes and room service is also available. Please note that if you plan to attend the service at SCOAN, you will not be permitted to enter the building with food. Only water to drink. Food is available at the church restaurant Western and Chinese style) or very affordable local dishes at the canteen. Since the hotel is so close, one can also leave their seat tagged and return to the hotel for a meal. There is a small refrigerator in each room and a water cooler at the reception. Please drink ONLY bottled water. It ranges from 50 Naira to 200 Naira depending on where you buy it. Shopping: There is a huge local market not too far from the hotel. It is best to not go alone. Besides, a great deal of the vendors may not speak English so you may need to be accompanied. The hotel has a store that sells snacks, drinks, ice cream, some clothing items and a whole lot of personal care items that you may suddenly need. If they don't sell it they can probably help you to get it. They're great like that. Housekeeping: The hotel is safe. The housekeeping crew will knock and let you know that they have come to clean your room. If you are jet lagged, they will let you sleep and you can always let them know when you get up. Where else do you get that kind of service!? Seriously, this isn't even a 5 star hotel but you wouldn't know. If you are not happy with something in your room, they won't rest until they address. Please let them know so that they can give you a great experience. There is no reason to bring your best jewelry but if you do decide to, it will be safe in the hotel. Rooms: The rooms have good sized sturdy beds. Now I need a firm bed to sleep on but these beds were beyond what I could have asked for. I slept so well and had great support for my lower back that was injured in two auto accidents. I changed from an executive room to a standard room and still had plenty of space. You will find a flatscreen that picks up several local channels which are pretty good and the clearest picture is on the sports channel, go figure! Ha ha ha! There is also a desk, chair, side table and phone as you will see from my pictures. The bathrooms consist of a toilet, a hand basin and a shower with a wide head, a hand held and a lower tap/faucet which is a lower level but above your knees. The closets are spacious and come with several hangers. Energy: Electrical power (NEPA) is supplied by due to load shedding there will be times when the hotel will have to run on solar energy instead (VATA). In this instance you will not be able to use the Air Conditioning unit in your room but you will have a fan. If NEPA is unavailable for a very long period or at night they will turn on the generator and one can resume using the AC unit. They never let it get too uncomfortable as they juggle the costs of operating these sources of energy though. Wi-Fi: You will get Wi-Fi access codes for free from the front desk upon request. They are good for 500MB or two days and you can always request more. Finally: This is not an area know for malaria mosquitoes but in case you will travel further around, just take your course of prophylactics before you come. You may get an occasional mosquito slip into your room if you leave your door open for way too long. Otherwise this is a bug free environment so to keep it like that, ask the front desk to help you dispose of any food containers that you bring in so that you don't entice any. The Managing Director welcomes all feedback and his contact information is available at the front desk, security gate and restaurant. I have written an extensive review because this hotel deserves it and because heading out to Nigeria without anyone I know there was the biggest adventure I have ever undertaken but it turned out to be no big deal. I want you to know that and be safe when you go. If you want to visit SCOAN and haven't yet received a letter of invitation don't let that stop you. Get your visa, get your ticket and get a room at this hotel. I really hope that more people will make that trip and get the results that they yearn for.
