We were travelling through Croatia with the bicycles and stayed for one night at Biokovo Camping. The host was very very friendly and offered us a Croatian Drink right after our arrival. The spot for our tent was also very nice and there‘s a lot of little cute spots to sit and spend some time on site.
Looking for a peaceful and convivial place ? Stop here ! This campsite is perfectly located to discover Biokovo mountain, the coast with Makarska (10min drive), the inland with Imotski (20min drive). Walk 10min and you get in Zagvozd where you have a grocerie store, bakery, café. This campsite is made for people to meet each other, to share and to discover this beautiful part of Croatia. Thank you Mirjana !! Leïlou et Luna
This was by far the best campsite I’ve ever stayed at! I recommend this over the busier coastal spots in Croatia I have been. I was welcomed with such a friendly manner by the staff and they were very helpful for any questions I had for things to do around the area. The campsite was a beautiful place to stay, with a wonderful view of the biokova mountain range ☺️ All facilities were on a very high level of cleanliness and they even have an indoor kitchen which is such a rare find! Spent most of my time here on the hammocks and enjoying the sun 🌞 they have a vegetable and herb garden free to pick for guests which I used for a few of my meals during my stay here. There was a vibe here I haven’t experienced before it was such a treat 😌 This camp is in a beautiful spot for exploring rural Croatia, away from tourists and near so much beauty! We loved the town of Zagvodz, it has everything you need and the bakery became a favourite of mine very quickly! Here are some of my highlights that I’d recommend you to choose to stay here over anywhere else - so many great things to do and so closeby! We climbed Sveti Jure which is only a 10 minute drive away to the start of the hike. I recommend staying here for easy access to the hike and coming back for a warm shower and meal was a treat. The campsite has great roads to cycle on also, cycling alongside the mountain, through quaint villages such as Milići and up towards viewpoints such as Saint Ante Church - a breathtaking viewpoint which you can even see Bosnia from! We were recommended by the owners to visit Imotski, a town close by (about a 20 min drive) with stunning lakes to hike down and see - the blue lake and red lake. It also has a nice buzz and a few lovely places to eat at. We visited some of the most beautiful beaches we’ve seen during our stay here, at Krvavica which is another short drive away. The most stunning coastline walk surrounding by a mountain backdrop i’d recommend to anyone. We sat there on a beach away from the hussle and bussle of busy tourists and enjoyed the sun. (With the most stunning sunset I was blessed to witnessed). Makarska is another coastal town that is a mere 20 minute drive away, endless food places and culture to explore here. We came down with a fellow guest of the campsite, Phillip from Germany, and wandered to a statue viewpoint and later explored some caves. They have a lidl here also 😍 We also made our way to Brac during our stay here! Caught a very cheap ferry from Makarska and spent the day there exploring the island, ate lunch at a Pizzedia by the sea and went for a swim! This campsite is a true gem for not just chilling and relaxing but a great spot to spend a good amount of time and explore the surrounding area with its 10/10 location. I will be back soon! Ciao ✌🏾…
This campsite is the perfect place to stay for a night inbetween stops or for a while longer, it’s a good location close to Baška Voda, Makarska & Itmotski, and you can go down the road into Zagvozd for anything you may quickly need. The Campsite is simple and clean & beautiful in the sun, a lot of time and care has obviously gone into this place from the wonderful family who own and run it. The facilities are very clean, hot showers, a kitchen & plenty of spots on the site to be social with others, as well as a big vegetable garden. The prices are very reasonable and it’s exciting to see how this place will get better in the future as it has already had some great improvements over time.
Wanted to move away from crowded coastal campsites in Dalmatia and this was a true gem. Small, secluded but still close to the village and easy drive to the beach or to explore small towns, hike to Biokovo. This is a simple campsite so don't expect nothing luxurious. This small beautiful family owned campsite. We spent 3 days here and really loved it. It's clean and decorated with love and care. They have a small garden from where we had vegetables every day (free of charge) and used kitchen in the campsite to prepare our meals. Stop here instead campsites at the coast, This campsite needs more guests to continue to grow and to stay beautiful :) Thank you
My friends and I spent 3 days in Camp Biokovo . Atmosphere in Camp is so familiar . Our host offer us vegetables from their garden, organic, healthy food. We appreciated that so much. After 3 days we were spoiled with their care, hospitality and generosity. Camp is situated on the crossroad between coast and inland , and it's great base for exploring surrounding area, for whole Dalmatia. Cleanliness is priority. Toilets and kitchen are brand new. Fresh, clean air, nice view and amazing nature - make this Camp very popular in the camper community . Thanks for nice weekend ! Let's hope we meet again ! Alenka
So much love has been put into this campsite which can offer you connection to the nature (homegrown products on offer for you to pick), great love and affection from the gentle owners, a home away from home. Excellent location, not far from Split, Makarska riviera, not far from the highway on the way to Dubrovnik. Can be great for the stay and also as a campstop in that way. During hot summer, up behind Biokovo mountain it is great and cousy to sleep during the night after hot day. Big attention is given to every detail. Close to restaurant, not far from shop and great area to explore.
The Camp and it‘s hosts are just wonderful. I was travelling alone with my Minivan and felt warm welcomed there. The whole surrounding from the quietness of the little village Zagvozd and the view over the mountains made me calm down and relax
We have been in this campsite for several times now including the first year they opened. It's amazing to see this campsite grow year by year into an amazing spot for travelers in Croatia that don't want to stay in an overcrowded seaside campsites but want a peaceful 'home' to come back to. This campsite is owned by some of the best and friendliest people we know, the bathrooms and kitchen are always nice and clean (cleanest I've ever seen in a campsite), fresh mountain air to sleep tight in the night with a great view of the Biokovo mountain that is rising just above it. It is just a walk away from the grocery store and at a great location that offers mountains and inland on one side and the seaside on the other. The atmosphere is always so welcoming and calming. There is enough space to have your own privacy but there is also an area where you can hang out with other campers (or sometimes their own volunteers!). If you are creative and want to leave a trace or contribute to the homely feel of this place, well guess what, you can do it too! This place is many opportunities packed in one small campsite. It is always so so lovely to come back here and call this our second home. With love, Ivona and Andrei.…
Remember the camping years ago, well this is pretty much it. The place is big enough so you are not really close to the next camper, but at the same time there is common area where you can spend time together. Biokovo Mountain just in front rises like a giant and sleeping under stars. The trees need to grow for better shade but we were on a beach the whole day so it was ok for us. Just love it.
