It is amazingly beautiful. If you arrive at sunset time, it is even more impressive as you have to climb a short but steep street to the top of the hill. This 13th century defense tower has been completely renovated with a modern style, while maintaining the ancient structure. The rooms are made of stone walls and wooden ceilings. Breakfast...

My husband and I took a trip through the Basque country in September and Hotel Zumeltzegi was our favorite stay by far. This is the ideal spot to relax and unwind. All their little touches make the stay feel truly peaceful and luxurious. Their service was exceptional from the moment we arrived. We stayed in the top floor room (401,...

Loved the actual building, it's like going back into the Middle Ages. The decoration of the room is really cool too. The views are really cool, if you get to have them over Oñati. The restaurant of the hotel is also really nice and my family enjoyed the food we had for dinner.

The Hotel is very nice and located in a even nicer position. Rooms are perfectly cleaned. They give the feeling of a sudden leap in the Middle Age, but with all comfort that you might expect from a 3*** Hotel (actually, in my opinion it deserves a 4**** category, anyway....). Staff is kind and very helpful. I would definitively recommend...

Oniati is a an old very interesting little city with an historical university. The tower is a part of this history and has been transformed in a very pleasant and comfortable hotel. The service is particularly friendly (French and English spoken). The restaurant, with a 19 Euros menu is excellent.

Spent three nights at this wonderful hotel amidst the picturesque Basque Country. The rooms are tastefully decorated and very clean. The staff were amazingly kind and a joy to interact with. I would strongly recommend staying here if you are looking for a comfortable spot between Bilbao and San Sebastián (~50-60 minutes from each). The included breakfast is glorious and...

What a beautiful hotel situated in an old Tower on top of the pretty town of Onati. We stayed here for two nights in a superior room on the fourth floor that commanded views across the countryside in two different directions. The hotel itself is through the town and up a very steep winding road that is controlled by traffic...

If you need to relax and slow down this is the place. We stayed here one night on the way from Bilbao to Bordeaux. The hotel is placed with a great view over the small old city. We got a room at 3rd floor, a really nice room with view over the church and the old city (room 302). The...
