Beautiful property but rude staff! We just arrived to our beach cottage and walked a few steps to the outdoor eating area - before we could say a word the lady came out literally screaming at us to put a mask on! We were outside completely but regardless she could have just asked politely. She continued yelling at us and ruined the first day.
Norman Cay Thanks to wonderful Tino and Leo! The service here is exceptional! The welcome is second to none and these fine fellows just make the place....so much so we came back when we were meant to be travelling further! We just knew if would be amazing again!!
We flew into MacDuffs on a recommendation from a friend who boated in. About a 1/2 mile walk from the ramp. The restaurant is set back from the beach a bit, but surrounded by trees, bushes, and beautiful flowers. We chose to sit outside on the deck, under the roof. It was tropical beautiful, great temperature. Service was very good. The burger was amazing, fair warning, it does come with ketchup, mayo and mustard even though it doesn't say it on the menu. We were able to scrape that off, and enjoy the great flavors of the burger. With two vegetarians in the group, we were pleasantly surprised that they had more options than just salad or veggie burger. There was a nice grilled vegetable sandwich (which was well liked by our vegetarians) and a pasta dish (we didn't try it). The staff was great, and even drove us back to the ramp. We will stop by again if in the area! The rest of the resort looked really nice, and worth a stay in the future. Beautiful beaches and snorkeling area.…
Can’t say enough about these guys and this place. Bareboat in late Oct, I studied up on places to stop and eat off the boat. I called the number on the website about 2 weeks before and was told by Herbie that they are closed on Thursday, the day I was planning. Ok so Sunday table for 8 after crossing from Nassau. He emailed me the menu. Told him 6pm and we’d need a ride from the pier near the plane. I’d been here in 2013 when the resort was being rebuilt. No problem and they would be ready for us. I told him I’d text the morning of to verify the time and when I did I changed it to a 7pm pick up. Well the rides were on time and we were the only customers! This is low season cuz of weather but 4 employees welcomed us and we had wonderful food and service. Place is dark wood, open air with screens and lots of fans. Deck out front to watch the sunset, about 8 tables inside dominated by a big bar and TV tuned to football. Mostly we had Catch of the day, Grouper with some great sauce and veggies or the lobster. Service was spot on as they had opened just for us so drinks were quick, waters refilled, plates removed promptly. $193 for 2 including drinks and 15% tip. Separate checks are no problem. A++…
Not easy to get here especially if you’re not staying at the cottages. The first time we came here we dropped anchor by the beach and it’s a short walk to the restaurant. The second time we docked at the private marina that is under construction and luckily a local brought us there on his four wheeler because it would’ve been an extremely long walk from the new marina. Nice casual place, enclosed so no mosquitoes. It’s a glamorized shack but it has Ritz Carlton prices for cocktails LOL. Friendly service of full bar, good lunch and dinner offerings if you arrive within those times. Again if you’re not staying at the cottages call ahead of time to see if they’re still serving meals or even still open.
We were on the island bare boating. We were looking for a place to eat off the boat. The food was just so so. It is open to the public. I tried several times to contact someone before we went to make sure they were, to no avail.
Amazing place and an amazing experience! Staying in the beautiful cottage on the beach was special. Plus the completely secluded beaches, some of the best in The Bahamas, was like spending time on your own private island!
We live in Nassau and do lots of weekend trips to different nearby islands. This was SUPER clean and new. Staff was amazing! Everyone super friendly and they could not do enough for you. Family friendly and right on the beach!
The accommodations at MacDuff's was beautiful, the staff was extremely helpful, funny and very friendly. Food was excellent and they even packed up lunches for us when we went out exploring for the day. The is one mooring ball to tie up to if you so chose and I believe you can also dock at the marina but would need someone from MacDuff's to 4 wheel you there. We tried to find the boat on the hill that was put there by helicopter but wasn't exactly sure where it was. Next time, we would just ask Mark to bring us there. I would definitely return to this place for overnight stay, lunch or a causal drink.
We stayed for 2 nights in this beautiful boutique resort. The cottages are stunning. Wonderfully designed and extremely comfortable. The restaurant is fantastic, funky decor, great lounge area where you can hang and have a drink or play cards. What made our time so special at McDuffs we’re the staff. Leo and Monique were delightful and warm in the restaurant and Mark and Sean went above and beyond to make sure we had a wonderful time. On our last night they set up a bon fire for our group on the beach that was a perfect way to end our time there. You feel as if you have been dropped into paradise away from the whole world. It may seem expensive but it is all inclusive so by the time you add up all the food and drink and extra service you get it’s not that far out of line. Overall very unique and special experience.…
