From having a 30 min wait to check in that changed to a 5 hour wait was just the beginning of the disaster. We were told there were no maps of the resort as they were out to be printed. What??? Claude our bell boy was very nice and friendly and was the person who was instrumental in getting us...

We stayed at the Barceló Langosta (now Occidental Tamarindo) right when the new owners were coming in. We were with WestJet vacations so we arrived very early on a Sunday to the hotel (8am) and didn't expect to receive our room until 3pm. The resort is a bit tired, but we got a great deal so thought we would just...

We are still currently here for another 3 days. We are Occidental First Club members but decided to try a Barcelo location in our bonus time. The resort is ok. The staff is friendly and accommodating. The food for us had been better than some of our other locations. We are accustomed to larger buffets, more pools and many more...

Considering this was an all inclusive hotel deal, which we booked last minute due to having to head away from hurricane Otto, it doesn't represent bad value for money. The block our four rooms were in was however really poor quality, in dire need of an upgrade/redecoration. They all had a very unpleasant odour, and the bathrooms were in need...

This hotel is good value for money considering it's all inclusive and so cheap. The rooms however are a little tired and smell 'earthy'. The staff are lovely and very helpful, Rene was very helpful on the front desk and Julius out of the kitchen sorted out a special gluten free meal for my sister and nothing was too much...

My family and I spent a week here. We loved it. The hotel rooms were very clean and the staff was super friendly. Food was great. The beach was nice and quiet. Very private with millions of sea shells. There's a bit of a rip tide so children need to be careful as there isn't a lifeguard on duty. We...

Three of us wandered in for dinner one night and lucked out ( as we were not staying in this resort) Eduardo, our waiter treated us like royalty. He gave frank opinions of the food and we had both steaks and surf and turf. The steaks were cooked to perfection, the sauces were delicious and the marlin was yummy. The...

We stayed here when it was the Hotel Barceló Langosta and it was not that pleasant. We expected it to be like other all-inclusive hotels but they would not put beer in the mini bar unless we hounded them daily and only gave us 2 waters, one pop and one juice. They would not let us take the kayaks up...

This is an incredible place to stay. Every time that we go to Costa Rica we have stayed here and could not dream of staying anywhere else. My next trip will include my kids and this will be their first trip to Costa Rica. The service, hotel, staff, views, activities and close walking proximity to Tamarindo is just amazing. I...
