We just returned from our first trip to Grenada and the Mount Cinnamon resort. There was much to love about the resort with the staff and the beach being 2 of the highlights. Upon arrival at the resort, we were warmly greeted by Shauna with guest services. She immediately set out to create a personalized itinerary for my family which included sightseeing, a trip to the waterfalls, a sunset cruise and dinners both on and off property. She expertly put together the perfect mix of down time and activities to fill our days on the island. She even went above and beyond (loaning me one of her personal hair straighteners when mine chose not to work with the electricity adaptors). Long story short, the staff makes the resort. The resort generally fit our needs, and I am not sure you could find a better beach on the island. As for our trip overall, I will say that we were in Grenada during the rainy season, so we had some “washout” days which hampered our sightseeing and themed dinners on the beach. I also wish there was more things to do and explore on the island. Again, it was slow season, so maybe there is more “life” and happenings both on property and off at another time of the year. The only minor negative comment I have regarding the resort concerns the restaurant offerings. Because breakfast is literally the same choices every day (with no specials), it can get a bit exhausting eating from the same 4 or so things every day. Also, the beach restaurant was having some technical difficulties when we were there, so some items/sides were unavailable. These were, however, minor inconveniences when weighted against the lovely bar staff bringing well made “fruity” drinks to us beachside. Overall, we had a lovely time and if visiting Grenada again, we would not hesitate to go back to Mount Cinnamon.…
I'm a little late with my review, as I stayed in mid June. I went for my birthday and everything was smooth from start to finish. Nykia worked the front desk and was always smiling and bubbly and eager to help. All the wait staff and bartenders were very friendly and the Cinnamon suites were very nice and had beautiful views. I had a great massage at the spa. Its at the end of the beach so it can be secluded but is a very easy walk to other restaurants and resorts. Will definitely return.
Went with partner during “off season” when things were a bit slower (we like this). This was our first time to Grenada and while we loved this island which might be our new favorite, Mt Cinnamon was a particular treat. The accommodations were lovely particularly for the islands (we stayed in the newer Cinnamon Suites with a fantastic balcony view of the bay), but we were both most impressed by the friendliness of the staff and the hospitality in general. While we have learned to temper our expectations in this regard when we go on a trip to the beach or islands or any other typically obnoxious-entitled-touristy place, Garret and the staff here were fantastic. Far-and-away the best experience we’ve had in the Caribbean, and we’ve gotten around. Highly recommended on all points, but again it’s awesome to spend a week amongst folks who, from the gardeners to the front desk, appear to love what they are doing, love their island and are genuinely interested in sharing it with us.…
My daughter and I spent seven nights at Mt Cinnamon. The first afternoon we had an extremely warm welcome from Nkiya and Kevin the manager and while they explained how we would be looked after during our stay we were served a delicious glass of rum punch. I had booked a Cinnamon Suite which had breathtaking views of the world famous Grand Anse beach and St George’s Harbour in the distance. The balcony was great for relaxing and enjoying the lovely cooling breeze. Most days breakfast included a Grenadian special (some Grenadian cocoa tea would have been welcomed). We had a couple evening meals beachside - Tuesday a delicious fish meal accompanied with some amazing music from the saxophonist. On Saturday the special was ribs and rum (absolutely finger licking good) and was serenaded by a very talented singer with the most beautiful voice. Altogether we were very well looked after by a mostly friendly and warm group of staff. Garrett always approached us and had a chat to enquire how we were getting on and was very knowledgeable in places of interest to visit - very easy to talk to. Whenever we were seen by most of the staff we were greeted like old friends including Dezra our room attendant. Nightly a member of staff would check in and deliver a Cinnamon cookie. Mt Cinnamon is a lovely complex, five minutes walking distance from the beach, well kept grounds - beautiful, colourful, suites and I would wholeheartedly recommend. It is hilly (makes for more stunning views) but the on-site buggies are available for you to be chauffeured if required. As a Grenadian national I would certainly revisit Mount Cinnamon.…
My husband and I chose Mt. Cinnamon because it looked beautiful on the website and because of the great reviews that we read. Indeed, the resort is a gem; it is lovely. The staff, without exception, were friendly (genuinely so) and went out of their way to be helpful in every way possible. Garrett and Nykia suggested and arranged a superb dining experience, a totally fun dinner with live music and a rental car, which was delivered and picked up at the resort. We didn't want to drive in the evenings so we had the pleasure of meeting Nigel, a driver who was so pleasant and polite that we were thrilled when he showed up to take us to the airport at the end or our stay! We enjoyed several lunches at the beach cafe as well as a couple of dinners. The resort is exceptionally clean. We look forward to returning to Mt. Cinnamon later on this year.…
This one might take a minute, lol. My wife and I researched Grenada and found one review after another about the service at this hotel. We have NEVER had a more pleasurable experience with hotel staff! From the moment we arrived and everyday that followed, every effort was made to make sure we had everything we needed for a great stay. My wife caught a bit of a cold and was down for 2 day's. In addition to bringing her hot ginger tea, and other local remedies, "Nykia" front desk, took it upon herself to go the pharmacy and grocery store for us, so we had everything we needed for a speedy recovery. Everywhere I went on the resort during that time, everyone (almost no exceptions) stopped to ask me how my wife was feeling. What's even more unbelievable, their concern seemed genuine! Front desk staff helped make every reservation for us. Dinner or diving (our two favorite things!) A special shout out to Nykia, Terrell, "Shakira Shakira" Darell (chef) and Shauna. You guy's are a credit to your brand! Check out the catch of the day, if you like fish, the fish tacos (see pictures) and the fish wrap were amazing. Also if decadence is your thing, the triple chocolate trio! I would be remiss if I didn't mention Grenada SPCA. Plenty of puppies need good home's, so stop by, pick up a puppy or make a donation. Thanks…
Mount Cinnamon Cabana is a great place to come for lunch, to sit and relax and have fun with friends whilst watching the sea. The service here is second to none. Kathyann is a credit to your staff, she made me feel extremely welcomed and comfortable providing me with the best service that I have experienced during my time in Grenada. I will definitely be returning here throughout my trip. Thank you to your entire staff team.
Pros: Beautiful pristine resort, beautiful ocean views, great service-ALL the staff were fantastic and accommodating. Decent bfast. Hobie cats and kayaks, comfy beds, a/c! would def stay again. Cons: food a bit too tourist-y (I.e. overpriced for what it was). Not bad just not great. Really just ate bfast (which was pretty good) and one dinner at savvy’s. Not enough to subtract a star considering the pros. Who would like it: people staying on grand anse who need beach views and water sports. People who don’t mind a climb (unless you drive up to your room as we did). People who need a/c Tips: don’t include lunch/dinner option as there are tons of great local joints to eat at. Message me for laundry tips ;)
My husband and I first visited Mount Cinnamon in 2018 and had such a fabulous experience that we promised we'd go back. Fast forward a couple of years with no holidays due to covid, and our only choice was to go straight back to Mount Cinnamon. We were naturally mindful that the second time might not live up to the first, or that perhaps our memories weren't as good as we thought, but not at all - we had another truly wonderful 10 days, for many reasons. First of all, the staff, from Reception to Housekeeping, to Restaurant/Bar to Groundspeople, too many to name individually. Always friendly, helpful, and promoting an air of relaxation that you can't help buy tap into. But I want to mention Nykia on Reception particularly. Always with a smile, but when I had an issue on our last day, with 2 hours until leaving for the airport, she suggested and sorted out for me a visit to a doctor, which dealt with my problem before the flight. From the first welcome you get on arrival, to leaving, Reception are prepared to help make your holiday what you'd like it to be. And staff all round have the same attitude. We enjoyed food in both the restaurant and the beach bar. In Savvys, try the beef tai tipi and the spiced chicken roulade (I wish I'd asked for the recipe for everthing in this dish), and excellent steaks. At the beach bar, fish of the day was always good, and you can't beat a fish taco. The cocktails were a hit, as were a few local beers. Teon at watersports shimmied up a tree and brought down a couple of coconuts, cut the tops off, and gave them to us with straws. Simplicity at it's best! Cookies are brought to your room each night, which was a lovely touch. Housekeeping staff were lovely, and it was great not to think about the housework for a short while. There's a small gym, which we used a few times when we were awake before breakfast. Oh, the breakfast - gorgeous cinnamon buns! Plus the rest of the pastries and cooked options. And a lovely open-air place to sit and enjoy them and look through the plants and flowers towards the sea. Mount Cinnamon end of Grand Anse beach is just about perfect - I've spent 4 years imagining being back there, on a sun lounger with a good book, and snorkelling with the fish. I'd say it's the quiet end of the beach which is perfect. There's watersports equipment to use, and just along the beach is Dive Grenada - the island's underwater sculpture park is just up the coast, definitely worth booking with them to snorkel or dive there. Apparently a needle fish landed on my back whilst I was snorkelling, with a smaller fish in it's own mouth. I didn't notice myself - too busy being absolutely mesmerised by the myriad of fish below me. We had villa 4 - I truly believe you get one of the best views across the bay from Mount Cinnamon because of its elevated position - it's one of my favourite views, daytime or nighttime - hard not to look at from your balconies. Other resorts are at beach level between MC and the capital, St Georges, so you get a spectacular view across. When you work hard to save and go on holiday for a brief moment of escapism every now and then, you hope you make the right choice. We certainly did. We came home and wondered whether we'd go back a third time, and yes, we will. If you're looking for a friendly island, Grenada certainly is. If you're looking for a lovely relaxing place to stay, Mount Cinnamon is perfect.…
Just arrived back from a week at Mount Cinnamon Hotel. I do t think I can say a bad word about any part of our week . The setting of the hotel is just about perfect and the location as well. I have never felt so welcome anywhere we have traveled to before and the fact that every member of staff calls you by your first name every time you see them and give you the largest smile and welcome you can imagine.Garret could not have been helpful from the minute we arrived until we left ,he even made sure we had the same taxi driver every time we ordered one because he knew we liked that driver. The hotel has the most stunning views due the the fact it’s on a hillside with daunting hills, not a problem at all as Golf carts are in tap to run you up and down which is a novelty on its own and thank you to Andre and Shakil for being our favourite drivers but everyone are as good as each other. Every part of this hotel is perfect and the surrounding area as well. St George’s a 10 min cab ride away is also a lovely friendly marina town with the most friendly people yiu will ever meet. Thank you Mount Cinnamon and thank you Grenada for being so friendly and welcoming. I think we have found our paradise, we will be back. Ian Hammonds…
