Combine Italian passion, with Balinese decor, all set on the Caribbean island of Grenada, where the locals have the biggest smile = Laluna. Set in a secluded bay, with only 16 cottages scattered on the hillside. Each with their own private veranda and plunge pool. Laluna oozes romance in an intimate setting with a Bohemian laid back vibe. Italian restaurant with Calabrian roots. Sunset Bar & Lounge on the beach with Daily happy hour and signature cocktails. Wellness Center with an Asian Spa with Balinese therapists and complimentary yoga at our yoga pavilion on the beach and Technogym gym. Sculpture garden in The Enchanted Forest = Art + Hospitality. Laluna is either your cup of coffee or it isn't, especially if you take your coffee with a shot of rum.

We just returned from an amazing stay at LaLuna. The property is absolutely gorgeous and a perfect place for couples to escape from reality (and boring hotel chains). Although LaLuna attracts mostly couples, I brought my sister for her 50th birthday and we had a fantastic time. We stayed in deluxe cottage 5 and it was perfect in every way. The cottages are unique and beautiful with a front porch lounging area and a small plunge pool. Although they appear rustic from the outside, inside they have every amenity: very comfortable bed, air conditioning, sofa, safe, closet with hangers, and small fridge. The bathrooms are open to the outdoors and very unique but also private. The area for the toilet has a door and the door to the bathroom area locks from inside the room. If you are looking for a bathroom that looks exactly like your bathroom at home (or a Holiday Inn), this may not be your choice, but we loved it. Be prepared for some stairs up to your cottage and beautiful views each morning when you walk down to breakfast. The bar and restaurant are excellent and we are picky. The staff are the most friendly and helpful people we have met in the Caribbean. Almost every single staff person wished my sister a happy birthday and then (without being asked) they brought a beautiful dessert and sang happy birthday to her at dinner. There is such attention to detail at this hotel and the design is so beautiful. We swam in the ocean, we got massages, we did yoga, we drank too much rum, and we chatted with other guests who were also thrilled with LaLuna. Thanks so much to the staff for their attentive and friendly service.

We stayed in room 16, a King Suite Cottage. It was just magical. I love that the traditional hotel set up went right out the window. There was a little quaint office and the kind young lady knew my name before I even said who I was. They took our bags right away. We checked in at the bar while having drinks. Our cottage was just pure natural bliss. The cottage is authentic. None of the fancy bells or whistles but it was clean, warm personal touches the cottage feels like it's from another time. It's romantic, the lovely terrace with beyond incredible views. We loved the open air bathroom, we indulged in the private plunge pool and enjoyed our cottage so much ordered room service and had dinner in there too. Definitely planning to go back again!

My wife and I stayed at Laluna in mid January of 2021. During my visit, the hotel was not running at full capacity due to covid restrictions. However, the service was excellent and staff was excellent at making sure the facilities were kept up and our needs were met.
We stayed in room 10. The view outside of our room was just stunning. It does require walking up a few flights of steps to get up to our room, so if you have issues with that, stay closer to the beach.
The open air bathroom was strange at first but added to the wonderful experience.
The AC keeps the mosquitos away from the main room and we had no issues. However, when you go to the bathroom, you will encounter mosquitos. Make sure to keep the mosquito repellant burning in the bathroom.
The food and drinks were excellent. You can go in to the restaurant at any time they are open and order delicious food. Breakfast, Lunch and Dinner was excellent. We were obsessed with the seafood salad. There is a small boutique resort.
There is no swim up bars or loud DJ's spinning records or people playing volleyball here. Its peaceful. Its relaxing. Its tranquil. If you visit Laluan, make sure you go with someone you love. You'll spend a lot of time laying around enjoying the amazing beach and natural views.

When you are treating yourself to a lovely holiday and what appears to be a "luxury" resort that is exactly what you'd expect...well not here!
Yes the moto is "laluna is not for everyone" but when you are paying so much for a night you'd expect some sort of luxury.
Firstly check in was a joke...no one to explain anything or carry bags to your room, eventually I had to step in and do it myself!
I was in the cottage suite which is on the highest floor in my opinion this is the best location although the rooms are "cheaper" and bit of a climb the views are worth it.
The room itself was dark and dingy and so basic only positive for the actual room was a comfy bed. The bathroom is open air which doesn't bother me but they have no amenities like shower cap, vanity kits body lotion stuff you'd expect from this kind of place. I had to ask for toiletries. No slippers or anything. What a joke. They have decent complimentary coffee and don't expect them to replinsh anything.
I found this the theme it was hard work getting anything from them everything took its time. I asked for a bowl one morning and after two hours nothing so I called them...and housekeeping said to me "I thought it'd bring it when I came to clean your room saves me climbing the stairs" unbelievable! Room was cleaned to a decent standard.
Most staff at this place cannot be bothered and it seems if you don't tip them they don't bother giving you any kind of decent service..I'm from England and we only tip for good service they already add service to everything. The only people I thought were decent at the resort was kisha?! I think her name was but she was always smiling and made the best cocktails making sure you were happy. Trina at front desk was a gem. lyndon was also nice. All the others I found hard work and God forbid you had a request. They clearly don't care about customer service or satisfaction.
The food here is decent (I've done a separate review for this).I'm a foodie and thought this place did have some amazing Italian food. You're in the middle of nowhere so getting a taxi and back was more expensive than to eat here. Luckily food was good.
The gym is so basic and had no A/C while I was there so couldn't even escape there.
Overall I definitely wouldn't recommend this place if you want to get pampered and be in luxury. Yes it has a stunning location but that's about it. Basic rooms, below average service and extortionate prices. I couldn't wait to check out.

Dear Guest we are not a luxury hotel, and we never advertise to be a luxury hotel . Actually, our motto is " the absence of luxury, is a luxury in its self". I have a feeling you booked the wrong place for your vacation, and I understand your disappointment. We do carry the luggage to the rooms all the time for every guest. But maybe you were in a hurry to get into your room, and could not wait for our staff to do it for you. Thank you for compliment our comfy bed, our cottages are very colourful and spacious with mood lighting, sorry you thought it was dingy. In our cottages we offer complimentary bath products made in Italy especially for us, which includes shower gel, shampoo, conditioner, after-sun cream. Thank you for kind words on our complimentary in-room coffee, we do replenish the coffee jar everyday. We also offer complimentary tea, milk and chocolate bar to our guests. Thank you for the kind words on our food. If guests feel that they need to get off property, we are located only 5 mins by taxi to the tourist area of Grand Anse hotels and restaurants. The gym has 2 air conditioners, on opposite sides of the wall. Overall I believe that you chose the wrong place for your vacation.

We had a delightful 5 night quarantine vacation. I was unsure what the experience would be like not being able to leave the resort, but we had a wonderful time at Laluna. We were able to use the water sports (although it was too windy most of the time), roam about the grounds, relax in the lounge, enjoy the beach, eat at the restaurant and sit on our lovely veranda. We did not receive housekeeping during quarantine, but hotel staff delivered fresh towels and clean glassware whenever we asked. Three mornings in a row of waking up to a beautiful rainbow outside our front door were a huge bonus!

We had a fantastic 3 night stay here. The location is perfect, hidden away around the coastline from the busier Grande Anse beach, but not too far away as to be inconvenient to reach there and explore other parts of the island. The hotel itself is really beautifully designed. All of the rooms are stand alone, have incredible views down to the sea, and the open bathroom design with a view of the beach from the shower was a great touch. I would definitely recommend coming here and we will stay again when returning to Grenada. Finally, the food in the restaurant was all perfect and all of the staff at Laluna were extremely friendly and helpful.

Laluna is the perfect balm for the winter blues. The villa was so comfortable and housekeeping was unobtrusively attentive. The view to the ocean, with never-ending blossoms lining the way was exquisite. Sleeping with the sound and scent of the ocean was perfect for melting tension. We had intended on going off property for several meals, but we were so comfortable at the resort, and the food was so well prepared that we never felt the need to adventure further. The staff is delightful, fun and engaging. We felt so welcomed. Like most of Grenada, there are steps to climb. It was our challenge to end every lovely evening by climbing the steps to our beautiful villa. Great mini workout - I'd go back in a heartbeat.

Over all the experience was lovely. We stayed in the beachfront cottage which was a short (and level) walk from reception, where as all the other rooms are up the hill.
The open room was spacious and nice, perfect views while also extending privacy during day and night hours. Even sitting on the open porch/deck you cannot really hear or see anything other than the open ocean in front of you.
If you feel comfortably to drive, I recommend getting a rental as LaLuna offers free parking (many resorts do not) and taxi trips add up after time.
Speaking of cost, keep in mind everything is a-la-carte and relatively expensive compared to other resorts or even options locally. For reference, a traditional rum and coke was ~$14 USD (short tumbler glass) but we found out happy hour is 5-7pm. Recommend you bring your own alcohol, water, juices for the room. The meals were very good all around and compliments to the cooks and wait staff, very friendly.
The facility as a whole was very nice, and perfect location for what we we looking for. It could use a fresh update on some esthetics with paint and trim work. But you could really tell the service crew cared and took pride in their work. Every morning their grounds team was out cleaning the beach.
All and all it was a nice place and extremely private with a very nice staff and food.

I’d like to start by thanking owners and magnificent hosts Bernardo and Wendy for making a dream a reality at Laluna, it is the epitome of ease, beauty and quality in every detail. Happy 20th anniversary to Laluna, I'm so greatful to have discovered this gem.
Look no further as you will not want to miss out on an experience like this where you can enjoy the best of nature, the beach, spectacular sunsets, art, amazing food, warm people, delightful cocktails and unparalleled personal service that is authentic. I spent a week here and will absolutely go back.
If you’re an SLH, Rosewood, Four Seasons, Ritz Reserve kind of traveler (I understand, me too) and you want the same level of luxury but packaged in a unique boutique experience with the laid-back ease of Bali then you’re in the right place. I can't imagine anyone who would not fall in love here. 16 cottages in total and a few larger villa's provide privacy and exclusivity without pretension or fuss.
If you have any reservations about the outdoor bathroom or mosquitos (I did initially, coming from FL with the best AC) have no fear, have no concern, have no hesitation... after 24 hours you’ll feel at one with Laluna as everything is top notch. I am not your boho chic kind of travel girl (I’m a lover of designer fashion at heart) and I definitely enjoy the luxury 5 star pristine resorts but this is a break from the norm, this is a dream, this is something that can only be be conceived by someone that has vision and artistry and this is not like anything that any hotel could ever design or that you could ever imagine. The “staff“ is like a family. They know your name you know their names, this is a truly unique experience where you can have the best of the both the sun and the moon, amazing food without having to leave the property, the option to do yoga in a beachfront pavilion, water sports and more the opportunities are endless. I can’t say enough good things and if you have the good fortune to meet the owners you'll feel as if it’s an extension of their home they take such pride in the guests experience.
Laluna is truly a vacation vibe designed for those that want to relax and have a good time. I could go on for hours about the food alone (fresh fish, authentic Italian food + ingredients, Caribbean spices), don't hesitate to try anything, the catch of the day is a must along with the octopus salad, I even tried lion fish for the first time. For an after dinner treat the nutmeg ice cream, Vin Santo and Amaro del Capo are not to be missed.
As I was leaving for the airport the chef popped out to say goodbye and that it had been a pleasure....the pleasure was truly all mine.
Thank you to the entire family at Laluna...Jamal, Lisa, Urban, Dwight, Trina, Enicka, Akim, Tracie and Kelly.

LaLuna is such a very special boutique resort. It has this cool bohemian Balinese/Italian vibe which makes it unique to most Caribbean resorts. The service is warm, attentive, and so very friendly. The attention to detail throughout the resort is second to none. You can tell this place was designed with love from the furniture, to the wall sconces, to the statues, to the artwork to even the music that is playing at the outside bar/lounge.
You'd be hard pressed to find a more romantic spot on this island or any island for that matter. Perfect place for a proposal (which I spontaneously did!) or an intimate romantic getaway. The staff (shout-out to Dwight) was wonderful when, with very little notice, they set up a private table on the beach, adorned with flowers and a bottle of bubbly on ice, for our special occasion dinner.
The restaurant is fantastic. The food is fresh and tasteful with plenty of varied choices for breakfast, lunch and dinner, even during Covid when the turnover is not what it usually is.
The cottages dot the hillside and require a walk up some steps, but the views when you get there are amazing. There is a beach cottage for those that are step adverse.
We took a chance coming here during Covid because we are both vaccinated and the island has such strict regulations, but we were not disappointed in the least. Although we were not allowed to use the Spa, or participate in any of the fitness classes it was still a special experience that we will not soon forget. Looking forward to returning soon.

Dear Guest, We are so happy that Laluna is part of your romantic memories. We are thrilled that your romantic vacation with us went so well, and that you took the initiative to travel during such uncertain times. Great news is that the entry protocols are changing, especially for 1st May. Keep up to date from our Laluna facebook page and the Government of Grenada's website. We look forward to having you again in the near future. Perhaps for the wedding or an anniversary. ciao

We are located 10 mins away from the airport, but we are located to the north and the flight plan for planes run east to west (south of us) so there is no disturbance of planes from the airport.
