My wife and I along with our two teenage kids are staying at the Szarlota hotel. Great location! Everyone has been super friendly and we were particularly thankful to the manager Anny who resolved some issues quickly and with a smile. I highly recommend this hotel to anyone looking for a good value hotel in a surperb location!
This is a favourite of a family that lives nearby and justifiably so. Okay the end of December is not the time to be the most scenic. The lake was not frozen over and only a minor snow flurry on Christmas Eve. However it is a lovely place. The variety of facilities to use were excellent. Several big locations for meals. Bowling allies, several pool tables, PS3s, kiddies activity areas, BBQ pits, Spa, Sauna, etc etc etc. Polish food, beer and vodka was wonderful and served in a never ending format. Breakfast could have lasted hours with 20 different courses. Staff were unintrusive but friendly and helpful. Oh and they helped in the organisation of a great wedding. Thank you.
Absolutely beautiful location. Food was fantastic, prices extremely good, staff I found a little unfriendly and did not speak a lot of English which we put down to being a mainly polish resort. Would return for a quiet relaxing weekend!
Firstly the setting - possibly as good as it gets. Located on the banks of a gorgeous lake amid a forest it's iddylic. Its about a 15min drive from Koscierzyna, and about an hours drive from Gdansk railway station. We shared a 3 bedroom family villa which was modern and very well equipped. Free wifi worked well. The breakfast, served in the main building, was super - very wide range of good quality food. With one notable exception the staff were superb. We had friends staying who had been accomodated in a smaller shack further up the hill which was extreemly basic and they hated it. We went for a look and it was actually pretty awfull. One of the biggest draws is the lake. One can rent boats and pedalos for an hour at a go. And this is how we encountered one of the worst individuals ever to work in bhospitality. We had rented a pedalo earlier and a lovley old chap was behind the desk. Everything is hand recorded in a ledger and takes forever to record (Time out - time in - pedalo number - cost etc). We went back later and a fairly unhelpful old lady. The pedalos were in short supply and yet she was happy to let locals jump the queue and push in in front of some foreign children (and ourselves). When we got to the front of the queue she feigned ignorance ! Pedalo ? Non.... basically she had let her mates have them, Not so much as a "wait - one soon" (which there would have been) just a highly dismissive and unpleasant "no". Shame as this old monster was unrepresentitive of the generally excellent staff - but let the rest of the people down badly. Generally speaking this is a great relaxing place for a few days to chill out by the lake. Would go again (But brush up on my Polish for "I want a pedalo Mrs").…
I had a modern three bedroomed wooden chalet which was stunning. Everything you could need and spotlessly clean. The view of the lake was beautiful. It really could have done with a bit of open space around it to have a bbq etc. The balcony wrapped round the building and was a great space. Be aware that if you swim in he lake, which is what you basically go for you will probably end up with a juippy tummy. We all did (6 adults)
