Hotel's location is great, just in few steps from the famous White bridge and just opposite from Best Western Kutaisi. Excellent for explore city by foot. You can find parking in front of the hotel, but be aware, that this is not free parking, you should pay Kutaisi Parking fee in advance, that means 2 GEL for one day or 5 GEL for 7 days, it's really chip, but without advance payment fine is 10 GEL. Lobby is not large and bright, but comfortable. Elevator is slow, but you have to reach maximum 4th floor, so no problem. Room's size is not large, but with balcony or terrace it's quite OK. The TV set is small and channels selection is extremely poor. Breakfast is not particularly rich, but view from 5th floor worth to see. So, it/s not the best choice in Kutaisi, but Best Western is so expensive by Georgian standards, that it seems that King David is reasonable choice.…
This hotel is really well situated. There are many good restaurants, cafes and shops near this hotel. The building itself has been renovated some years ago and it is well kept and clean. The personnel is very friendly.
The hotel is ideally located, within 5 min walk from everything. But if you have a car there may a problem - with one-way streets around there is exactly one way to get there, with high chance to get stuck in traffic and difficult to find parking. Rooms are spacious, with balconies and all basic necessities, but feel somewhat old, outdated. The lobby is average. There is all-glass transparent art-deco style elevator, that goes very slowly, as if preserved from 1920-ies. The floors are arranged in an interesting way, with half the floor about 1 meter higher than the other half. The buffet breakfast was OK, but not as good as in other hotels we stayed at (in Tbilisi, Borjomi and Stepantsminda). They had just one drip coffeemaker for the entire breakfast area that was running out of coffee very quickly - pretty stupid problem. Overall the hotel felt overpriced for the quality.…
Hotel King David Is centrally located in the city of Kutaisi -- easy access to the city sights -- right next to the White Bridge. There is parking in front of the hotel. We were fortunate to stay in a suite (Room 202) which was lovely. The hotel is very well maintained. What made our stay at the Hotel King David so memorable was the kindness of the staff and the manager, Thomas. Unfortunately, my husband was ill while in Kutaisi. Thomas went out of his way to make sure he was comfortable and to help us find the medication that he needed. As a side note, if you are interested in fly fishing, Thomas has a wealth of information.
WE thoroughly enjoyed our stay at the King David. The room was perfect. Clean, well appointed, comfortable beds. The balcony was a wonderful place to sit. Our room faced the park and the river so it was very peaceful to sit on the balcony. Note, there is a minimal separation between balconies so if another balcony is being used, there is no privacy. The staff is a bit old time Soviet in attitude. Not rude, but do not go out of their way toward customer service.
