This hotel could not Bella better situated as it’s right in the central square of Gyumri. If you are looking for a little bit of luxury at a very small upgrade price, get the deluxe suite. Its room and bathroom are bigger than the ones in mo st people’s homes. It has a luxurious old world feel with solid wood doors, solid wooden flooring and a grand staircase as well. Could not have been more pleased without stay.

Good to stay as for a leisure and for business purposes. The hotel is situated in the heart if the city, near to the central square and the main historical streets. I found the rooms too big. The price is fine, breakfast is good. The staff is hospitable. The late check out was free of charge. I was with my foreign collegues, they wereamazed with that approach. Thanks to the staff and management.

Modernised in a rather old-fashioned way, the hotel falls short on some essentials. It has no lift, the mattresses were either lacking toppers or were not of hotel standard and the breakfast was only adequate (breakfast coffee must be better than a bowl of instant granules!). Having said that, the rooms and bathrooms were vast, the staff were efficient and friendly and the hotel's central location is a big advantage.

I sorry to say this but I found this hotel absolutely lacking everything but the location (just next to the main square). Lack of atmosphere, rooms to big for comfort, un-appealing breakfast and lack of a generator! We woke up at 6am without power and had to wait till 7,50am to start the day...an hotel should have a generator!

This hotel is probably the best option in Gyumri yet we paid only $70 USD a night, including an opulent breakfast. The grand prize goes to the charming staff that took care of every one of our whims and wishes with genuine Armenian hospitality and desire to help that unfortunately is rare with the increasingly arrogant, indifferent and corporate-policy driven staff of Western luxury hotels, where they make the guest feel like the staff is doing the guest a favor, rather than the other way around. Not so at the Viktoria! There is always an English-speaking manager on shift, and rarely have we felt so much personal warmth staying at a place so sophisticated. Sure there are some bugs to work out, as the hotel was apparently just completely renovated. Sometimes hot water didn't work well in the afternoon or, for example there is no A/C, so they ran out in a hurry and bought us a fan! How nice is that? It rarely gets as hot as this July in Gyumri so we were apparently the first to ask. The point is, they went beyond just citing policies and playing other infuriating shenanigans I am used to from Western corporate hotels. Truly touched us! The rooms and bathrooms are huge, about as big as my apartment at home, the beds are royal, the internet is fast and you can choose a room facing Gyumri's busy main square or one facing to one of the side streets. Choose according to your sensitivity to sound as at 9 am the 300-year-old church on the main square may wake you up! Armenia is a very spiritual country and people live according to a traditional schedule, at least in the interior parts like Gyumri. The restaurant appears to be open at almost all hours and will hand-make Armenian delicacies for you, prepared personally by the chef, such as Dolma, ground minced beef in a grape leaf wrap. The standard menu (available in English also) is huge and contains all Western/European creature comfort foods such as steak etc, and everything is promptly delivered to your room at low Armenian prices (at least low for Westerners). The hotel has a huge outdoors lounge area with a bar, that we didn't have time to check out at night. In summary, we would probably only stay here again in Gyumri, though (or especially because?) we are told that traditional hotels in Armenia operate quite differently. This is the best option for a luxury experience for only $70 a night and as a European you will miss absolutely nothing, and leave a bit saddened because you feel the staff have become truly your friends... not because they want your money but because they genuinely care! Loved it.
