We had 5 fantastic days at this lovely family-run hotel. We liked absolutely everything here; the clean and quit rooms, the great food and the most friendly and funny crew. The pool area is amazing, and if you prefer to swim in the lake, the garden goes right into it. We will recommend This place to everyone.

This is a hotel on an island in Sumatra, not a 5 star in Berlin or London. It’s on 5 floors with no lift. If you are disabled, unfortunately this is not for you, if you are unfit - you know who to blame. The rooms are very clean, comfortable and well maintained. The breakfast is excellent, the views are wonderful. There isn’t a lot to do - but that’s the point. We spent 3 days reading swimming, walking and hired a motor scooter. The really exceptional thin here is the hospitality, you feel part of the family, they look after you’re every need and were wonderful when my wife got a fish bone stuck in her throat. You have to deal with the loud music/Karaoke from nearby, but it’s everywhere and finishes about 10, and the piped music in the restaurant, but I believe this is the best hotel in Samosir.

A remarkable feature of Zoe’s is the ambience, created by decorative pieces and furniture. Beds were very comfortable. Each of our rooms had a balcony with attractive Indonesian outdoor furniture, overlooking the pool and lake. Breakfast was a wide array of local fare. Restaurant and laundry staff were excellent. Guests are able to arrive directly by passenger boat to the hotel’s dock.
