Cycle marshalling at events around Southern England require the occasional stop-over and this is the second time I have used Nutshell Cottage. This is a finely renovated old cottage - modernised inside and I have always received a friendly, warm welcome from Carole with an exceptional breakfast to fuel me up for days events. There is a fair amount of... More

I stayed there for 4 nights with a really delicious breakfast every morning. Really nice house and the owner was very accommodating. I would definitely recommend and wouldn't hesitate to book there again!

Passing by on the Gloucester Road, one would never suspect the wonderful hospitality within the Nutshell Cottage's brick walls. Carole the owner goes out of her way to accommodate every guest. The rooms are clean and comfortable, and breakfast could well be the highlight of anyone's day. Serving home grown vegetables from her garden (the tomatoes are excellent!) and homemade... More

We stayed here for 3 nights while on a cider making course. As 2 non smokers this was not a good experience. The house smelt of cigarettes as we stepped into the hallway. Our bedroom for some reason was particularly bad, the room and bedding smelt of cigarette smoke. This was not helped by the cottage location on a busy... More

I contacted the Nutshell Cottage outside of the advertised hours due to an unforeseen emergency. Fortunately Carole who runs the B&B was completely understanding of my predicament and in almost no time i was tucked up and resting in a comfy bed. The following morning I had delicious full english breakfast and a hand drawn map with the quickest route... More

My wife and I stayed for a two night break. The lady owner was very helpful and friendly, our room was a good size and comfortable. However the property is not no smoking and had we known this we would have chosen elsewhere, i can handle the Dog but not the smoke sorry.

I study at a local college and first stayed in Nutshell Cottage in September 2012 and was made to feel so welcome by both Carole and her lovely Afghan Hounds I have returned every month since to spend between 3 and 5 nights there. Carole has always greeted me with a warm welcome, enquiring into how uni and general life... More

Whilst working in the UK for the past 4 months, the Nutshell has been the restful sanctuary to which we return from stints "on the road". Carole provides you with lovely, clean, comfortable rooms, a great shower and a fantastic choice of breakfasts - the excellent pancakes being my favourite. After only one night you begin to feel like one... More

I just spent 4 nights at Nutshell on a business trip. I can't fault it - excellent breakfast, with tasty local produce, very comfortable clean and restful rooms, tea and coffee in the room, friendly advice on the region, where to eat, etc, combined with a professional attitude to service. I would definitely go back, but with my own transport... More
